    I really love them both but regular potatoes would have to be my pick. But I have to tell you, a tip from one of your other videos has really changed my opinion of sweet potatoes. Mashing up half a banana and putting it on top of a baked sweet potato with cinnamon or pumpkin spice is an incredible treat! It really hits the spot when I have a sweet craving. It feels so indulgent. I absolutely love it! I’ve really been enjoying all your videos.

      @@HealthyEmmie can i just use steamed sweet potatoes instead of boiled russet potatoes. Also , steaming potatoes will not dry out the water like baking or grilling

I have struggled with weight and food issues (anorexia bulimia other) since I was 14 and I am am one of those people u mentioned in the video who only thinks about food 24/7…. It’s so frustrating. I just started watching your channel and have learned so much already.     I"ve been a McDougall follower for years. Unable to lose all the weight I've needed to lose. Emmie gives me hope. This is a really great video. I'm learning many more nuances of the pro's and con's of different types of starches.

    What you said really triggered my thoughts . Who would I be if I no longer needed to lose weight? I feel like weight loss and working to pay bills are going to be the death of me. I want to enjoy my kids and family and home and be able to contribute in other ways in life. Uugh definitely gives me something to pray and think about.

      Bingo! Have done this for two months. No weight loss! Not one pound. Dont have a whole lot to lose either-Only thing I can figure is I need to walk more? Hope it works for you!

      @@jules9628 - I have started taking Moringo leaves, 2 Brazil nuts a day and seaweed everyday. I have an immune compromised thyroid and it would cause my appetite to be ravenous. These supplements have helped me more than anything I have tried. Joint pain decreased, appetite decreased and energy levels much better.

      @@FindJustMarty interesting I used to eat one brazil nut a day and I had one form of moringa years ago and it helped but that type I can no longer afford. So you buy moringa leaves and use, like in a tea or how? I have low thyroid and am on prescription med for it.

      @@jules9628 I have a hypoactive thyroid. I get my Moringa leave in capsule form (because it’s just too rough to take them without the veggie capsules… I get them from Amazon. Very happy with them. I have 2 Brazil nuts a day and one serving of seaweed a day. Much more energy, less brain fog and better feeling of general well being.

    I’m new to starch solution, I’ve been on it for about a month and haven’t lost much weight about 2.5kg, so I really enjoyed this video, especially the primary foods part, I also realized I’m obsessed with losing my excess weight and it has been depressing me that i haven’t lost it as fast as I hoped. Potatoes are my fav not so keen on sweet potatoes

    steamed golden / yellow potatoes. When you talked about boiling vs baking/cooking, a huge light bulb came on. Going to stop baking and grilling until I get my weight down. By the way, youtube is way more fun to watch in VR.

How can one stay on track without feeling influenced, and at times giving in, to the poor habits from a significant other (they love pizza!) other than weekly planning? If you have a video about that, could you please let me know which one that is? Appreciate the advice!! Love your work and all that you do!

      Sometimes swap it with healthier choice.

      I would say to have pizza! Try an Ezekiel pita topped with hummus and lots of veggies. So good!

      I love the chickpea crusts in the freezer section. It makes it super easy to throw your own together when someone else wants pizza or you don't feel like making anything, because we all know that's when you want to do pizza😁

    Potatoes unfortunately I have a hard time eating them without vegan butter. It gets me every time. I need to figure out a solution!

    Yukon (and other) golds, purple potatoes and sweet potatoes of several types are my main stays, because my partner loves steak houses and therefore I go, and salad and a baked russet is a treat.

    Yesterday at the hospital cafeteria I couldn’t really find anything to eat so i just ate potato wedges and 2 cups of white rice!

    I love creamer potatoes! Sweet potatoes are just way too sweet for me. I don’t really like sweet with my starch. But my favorite starch is really steamed white rice

    Do regular white potatoes have a high GI? I have a difficult time with regulating blood sugar. Could this have an affect? Also, love the brain edit! Hilarious touch.
