Starting the Starch Solution can be overwhelming especially if you are coming from the Standard American diet. I hope this helps break it down for you💚
@@Tulitakon yes I do. I eat a banana and blueberries everyday in my oatmeal and Ieat grapes, plums, apples. I don't really limit my fruit. I eat 3 to 4 pieces a day on average especially during the summer.
Not at all. It’s so familiar to me. I really enjoy that kind of eating. I come from Greece and the Mediterranean vegetarian diet is my favourite. But I thought that I must avoid the starches and carbs during menopause . Thank you so much for the valuable information and your time. Have a nice day
I love brown rice. I wash the brown rice and then put in rice cooker with correct amount of water. I do this in the morning and leave it set all day. Then 1 hour before dinner I cook the rice, fluff it when the rice is cooked and then put the lid back on and let rice set out 20 minutes before serving. Perfect, nutty, and each grain is fluffy. I learned this method when I lived in Japan.
Keeping things simple is key. Thanks for showing how it can be done. I have heard Dr. Mcdougall say, 'pick a starch and add vegetables.' Makes it all so simple. Also Jeff Novick says to keep a can of beans in the fridge, and scoop a couple tablespoons on top of your meal to give it that extra boost.
I think one of the reasons I can’t stick with the Starch Solution is because the recipes usually seem like they take a lot of time. I work 10 hour days and I’m used to convenience eating. I like how simple your video was, I’ll give it another try. Thanks!
I cook potatoes in the microwave a lot. You can also buy Minute Rice Cups that micro in 60 seconds. I use Minute brown rice in the bags it takes 15-20 minutes v. 40 on the stove for raw brown rice, but I don't have an Instant Pot or rice cooker. As a newbie…. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Just to try I ate only white potato’s last week like 80%. Couldn’t believe how easy and filling it was. Going full throttle this week. I have known a shift is coming for me for months. Felt it was an elimination diet. Tried so many ways, keto, carnivore and others. (I just don’t like meat, never had) and being addicted to oils and all carbs I could t imagine starch would be the thing. Had a dream about a guy that are ALL potato’s. That started my journey add. Omg…. It is. Your video is spot on for we beginners. Will listen to your channel this week When trying just hamburger it was awesome cause my addiction to comfort cheap horrible food was gone. On 3rd day all that was still sitting in my gut and I had headache from hell. Too low blood sugar etc. Have you or others experienced any detox symptoms eating this way of life? The ah ha I had was potato’s are high in potassium…. Ahh what you have to add in on other ways. Thank you again for an awesome video to help me start my new way of life!!!❤

@@ChewonVegan okie dokie…. I will Ck the online out. Such great resources. Love your “keep it all simple”. I have used food as comfort when happy, sad, pissed… you name it. My deepest desire is to get back “food is fuel” not the center of everything. The 50/50 is 50 starch, 50 veggie? 😍
A mixture of rice and beans is maybe the best starch with potatoes being the second option. You cannot go low on beans on this diet. If you’re not eating meat, you have to eat a lot of beans. Beans are the number one starch.

Just starting the starch solution eating plan for 2 reasons, to lower my.cholesterol and to lose the last few post menopausal pounds. Thank you for demonstrating how it can be super easy. When I first started there were all these recipes and I found that several of them kept me running to the potty a lot! I love beans and legumes but find they make me gaseous. I tried Beano but not a lot of luck. Suggestions?😊
I would start slow with the beans. If you are using canned beans make sure you rinse them well. You have to get your gut microbiome up to speed. Maybe start with 2 Tablespoons of beans or legumes and increase it a little at a time. Soon your gut will let you know that it is okay with beans. It just takes time.

Good presentation but I love the orange sweet potatoes, but tastes are different. The best time saving kitchen appliances is the Instent Pot Been plant based for 10 years now and health is still improving.
I agree, some people love the orange sweet potatoes. I do use them in certain recipes. The instant pot is a game changer for sure!
Thanks for this video! I'm going to try this .... seems like something I can commit to.

Will listen to your channel this week
When trying just hamburger it was awesome cause my addiction to comfort cheap horrible food was gone. On 3rd day all that was still sitting in my gut and I had headache from hell. Too low blood sugar etc.
Have you or others experienced any detox symptoms eating this way of life? The ah ha I had was potato’s are high in potassium…. Ahh what you have to add in on other ways.
Thank you again for an awesome video to help me start my new way of life!!!❤
You are so welcome! Keep consistent and follow the 50/50 plate building method and you will be successful. If you need more help check out my digital on line course. It will give you step by step instructions on this way of eating.Link is in the description box
@@sharonthompson3938 yes 50 starch 50 green veg

Thank you very helpfull l work alot l need simple l am a cake decorator its hard being around all the sweets
You are so welcome! So glad you found the video helpful💚 I wouldn't be able to resist all those sweets either!😜
A mixture of rice and beans is maybe the best starch with potatoes being the second option. You cannot go low on beans on this diet. If you’re not eating meat, you have to eat a lot of beans.
Beans are the number one starch.
@@greentree_ beans are great! I like to add tofu, tempeh and edamame as well. I have been vegan for 13 years and I eat lots of beans and legumes as well as tofu etc. it's so easy and healthy.
The best video and didn’t cost me a thing. I’m so new. Health reasons have made it necessary to change my diet. Easy to get started with the help of your great video.

SIMPLE, THANK YOU!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching💚
