Oatmeal for breakfast, potatoes and sauerkraut for lunch, pasta for dinner. I lost 50 pounds and Asthma, arthritis, hay fever, diverticulitis, I have a lot more energy and feel 10 years younger. God bless John and Mary McDougall!
I just watched a dietician "review and critique" one of your videos. She was not nice, calling you irresponsible. I was shocked. I don't think she knows the science behind plant based eating or is familiar with DR. John McDougall. Keep up the great work!
Nutrition is full of junk science and junk scientists. Whole foods plant based diets are best but many people think they are impractical. With what is on offer for eating out, especially for those frequenting drive-thrus, they are right. But that doesn't change that WFPLB are best.
I despised school. I went to one of those schools for “bad kids”. When I got to college and started nursing school, I thrived. 4.0 all the way 😊. Great video and I’m proof this is working. My husband actually asked me where was I putting all the food?! He said he’s never seen me eat this much! Yet, my weight is dropping and my health has increased tremendously in a short time. Thank you, Emmie!
I hated school and dropped out at 15. Then went to a vocational school for my GED and secretarial skills. Spent 20 years in apartment management and I’m also a licensed esthetician. I’ve started a plant based diet on March 17. So far, I’ve screwed up and ate a piece of Swiss cheese today and a piece of bacon last week. It’s so hard being the only one in the house eating this way. I’m doing this for health reasons. I have severe RLS, hypothyroidism and am pre diabetic. My doctor actually suggested this diet back in 2019 and it’s taken this long for me to try it. So far, the scale hasn’t moved but my clothes feel looser.🤞🤞🤞
Brilliant but I am a researcher in the medical field for decades..OCD lol..Elementary but people need to hear this..the first part of our tendency to blame it on..was good to hear so for that reason I will subscribe and share..thanks ❤
you are the cutest! I love listening to you...I've been struggling with my body image lately, been following WFPB for almost 2 years for health reasons...I lost weight along the way but lately I feel like i have put some back on. I got a bit lax for a while, so time to get strict strict strict. Thanks for the encouragement.
Favorite subject…..English! Emmie, once again, great video! Love your white board. You are definitely in your element teaching, be it math or weight loss! Heading over to watch you and Healthy Mummie with Chef AJ.
Emmie I wish I'd had you as a math teacher in grade school!! I hated math, most often failed, and was afraid of it until college. Art & Drafting (mechanical drawing) were my favorites.
Love this video. Still new to eating the wfpbd. Found myself doing a lot of things incorrectly that you addressed in this video. Thanks for sharing. I loved English in school.
Girlfriend! Thank you for sledge hammering all the myths! Yellow corn grits or oatmeal w berries and a n bit of my Vegan butter tomorrow am b4 work and for lunch! TYTYTY! i will be back in touch with updates on mu progress which began !2:28 pm )4/)4/2022 e when you helped me get out of my own way! Testify Sister! Thank you for all the women who were fed lies, forever! "Blessings of Bounty and May Your Gardens and your Life always Bring You Joy, INSPIRATION and Abundance!" - Hope( & Mark)!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
FOR THE RECORD, anyone who is skeptical of the "metabolism is broken" myth being false; I'm chronically sleep deprived because of a neurological condition. This means my entire body tries to gain mass like an American bear before hibernation. While this makes it harder to lose weight, Emmie's WFPB diet actually DOES help me lose weight!
Terrific video! You are a wonderful teacher. My sweet potatoes are in the oven now and my brussel sprouts will be steamed later -dinner! Yummy! Thank you Emme! ❤️ Suzy
English was my favorite because I love to read…..I love the little orange tail at the beginning….I have 3 little orange guys and 1 of them always has his tail in the air❤️
Always enjoy your videos! I feel empowered by them. 😊 My favourite subject was English but not that I did particularly well at it. I just love reading and stories - both fiction and non-fiction. Thank you for your guidance. I feel my body changing finally. My focus is now on the quality of the calories I am eating not on the numbers. Life changer for me! I am 60 years old and about 130 lbs. I spent most of my adult life until 50 at about 115 lbs. I have gone up as high as 145 lbs in the last 10 years. I feel good/better at 130 but I would like to get to 120 lbs. With your program/lifestyle, I actually feel that I might get there. I am not looking for a quick and dirty solution but an overall healthy change in my approach to food and eating. You are my girl!!! 🥰🙏
Favorite subject was the literature part of English class. Didn't particularly like diagramming sentences, learning tenses, etc, but I loved reading and writing. If I'd had you in geometry, I probably wouldn't have had to spend that summer in summer school!
What if my estrogen has already dropped and I’ve gained that extra 20 pounds already, will WFPBD help to bring it back up to a more balanced level? Thanks
If you’re comfortable with it, I’d love some information on how to teach my toddler about hunger/fullness cues. There’s so much out there about set meal times and structure and I just feel like that kind of misses the mark. I wish my parents had allowed me to tell THEM when I needed a meal versus the other way around. But where’s the balance with kiddos? Just let him snack all day? I’ll do absolutely anything that helps him to be better prepared for a life that is healthy physically and emotionally. I just don’t know how to do that with food.
Favorite subjects organic chemistry and physics, English. I did my first call with Healthy Emmie and start on her program this Sunday. I lost a lb just from talking to her lol.
English. I hated math sorry Emmie. Lol. I think I was probably the only person to have a geometry tutor and still failed but my teacher realized how hard I was working and trying and passed me with a C. I always look in awe and admiration for people who love and are great at math.
What about the Minnesota starvation experiment where their metabolic rate slowed down 40%! When eating 1570 calories a day and only walking 3 miles a day roughly ???
When I was a substitute for ninth grade math I pitted the bits against the girls. They had to, one of each gender at a time, go up to the board and I’d announce a math problem. They were soooo focused. If I would have known them better, I could have matched them against each other also on ability. If I ever do it again I would give a sample of the type of problem and tell them the “ contest” problem would be similar.
What about keto and insulin resistance? I’m vegan keto and it’s working for me and most women in menopause are estrogen dominant and maybe even pre diabetic and any carbs raises insulin.
I’m very interested in reading the studies regarding menopause and diet. I’m currently going through menopause right now. Please direct me to those studies.
I lost a TON of weight on wfpb, but recently started an antidepressant after having a baby. It’s not a huge difference, but I can absolutely tell that the medication is affecting my appetite. I feel less satisfied by my meals and feel very snacky and craving snacks even when my stomach is full and I’ve had a recent meal. If I was not actively tracking my meals right now I would definitely gain by just following my hunger cues on my current medications.
Definitely my experience! Losing weight is definitely harder but it is doable. I find exercise is a must, even if it's just walking 20-30 minutes daily at a fast pace helps. I follow Leslie Sansone (walking in place) and Annie Taylor Efremsky (dumbbell workouts) videos here on YT.
Do you believe certain mildly processed foods are okay such as soy milk, vegan protein supplement powders, maple syrup, fruit juices etc? I have been eating a diet very close to WFPB for over a year. I'm on my last 20 pounds or so and have plateaued. I've incorporated some strength training to increase muscle mass and I've kept my diet pretty calorically dilute except for the foods I mentioned but I'm starting to feel pretty disheartened 😕
That was a very good and clear talk. Thankyou . I hear many talks on being too thin they all seem to say don't worry about it because your body will find it's own level. As long as you are eating plenty. I am really full at every meal. I'm 5.1 42 kg. I feel great have plenty of energy l use some dumbbells daily to maintain muscle mass it's working. People say l am too thin , getting tired of hearing it. What are your thoughts on the subject? Thankyou
There are too many variables to accurately measure that. The point is that if you are overweight then you can overcome this by eating WFPB and eat when hungry, stop eating when satiated.
You know how many calories you burn daily by watching your weight and by writing down what you eat. If your weight stays the same, then you burned the same amount of calories as in the food that you consumed over a period of time.
Oatmeal for breakfast, potatoes and sauerkraut for lunch, pasta for dinner. I lost 50 pounds and Asthma, arthritis, hay fever, diverticulitis, I have a lot more energy and feel 10 years younger. God bless John and Mary McDougall!
Well done! Beans, Rice, Potatoes, Lentils, Pasta, etc... Low fat No cheese meat dairy. I'm 52 weigh 134 and follow this.

You were born to teach. Thank you healthy mummy and healthy dad! Excellent video Emmie and beautiful hand writing btw 💞💟

Former teacher here as well. My favorite subject when I was a student was English. I loved reading, writing, spelling, phonics, all of it.

Well,... Actually I haven't lost weight YET... (I'm still 100kg) but I have dropped three sizes.
The white board is a perfect addition to healthy home 😊 good video
My favorite subject was math! One more reason to like you Emmie!! Great video as always and a good reminder to me on this journey.
Terrific video! You are a wonderful teacher. My sweet potatoes are in the oven now and my brussel sprouts will be steamed later -dinner! Yummy! Thank you Emme! ❤️ Suzy

I really could have used a math teacher like you when I was young! I probably would have done much better haha you're a great teacher!
Typing, yes we had typing class, I was so was fast, loved it 😊

She looks very healthy, and there must be a lot of benefit from her suggested eating style.

Do you think being on an antidepressant plays a role in why you have trouble losing weight on a WFPB diet?
I lost a TON of weight on wfpb, but recently started an antidepressant after having a baby. It’s not a huge difference, but I can absolutely tell that the medication is affecting my appetite.
