Hello everyone! I have spent WAYY too much time obsessing over how to properly compare these paints. It's almost unbelievable to me that it has taken me almost a year to put this video together. I have had great experiences with all of these paint brands and continue to work with them closely, I just want to share with you a neutral, as unbiased as possible opinion on how I think these paints perform. To my surprise, very few artists have spoken about this very extensively. Thank you for your support, please let me know which brand YOU think looks the best, let's chat.
Gotta give the people what they want! Again, so many use cases for different formulations, but I needed to know, if only for me, which one is the best for me. Thanks for watching!
@@CESTLAVIC Now you can let people know Angelus could up their pricing double and still be killing it 😂. We stay our pricing so our customers get the best bang for buck.

absolutely loved how objective and thorough you were in comparing these!! unbiased/unsponsored reviews like this feel rare these days, especially ones that cut straight to the point- with comparing so many swatches you could've easily made this over an hour long for monetization reasons- thanks for keeping it trim and accessible!
This is one of the BEST analysis of leather paints I've seen. Love the chart with scoring. Very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do this and share with us. I've been looking for an alternative to Angelus paints that was a little less expensive. However, we get what we pay for. Painting leather is a different medium from almost any other material. Using paints specifically formulated for leather is the best way to go.
Well done! This is so informative! Thanks for sharing. We would be very interested to see a similar evaluation of the Jacquard Textile Colors. Despite the name, our Textile Colors are actually excellent on leather (as long as the surface is properly prepared before painting), with a formulation that isn't nearly as heavy and specialized as the Neopaque. By mixing with the Textile Color Super Opaque White, you can also create high-coverage opaque colors that are super vibrant. Also, we'd love to see a video comparing options for airbrushing. The Jacquard Airbrush Colors come ready to spray and perform excellently on leather! PS: tell us just one more time how much you HATE the Jacquard packaging lol But seriously, we do appreciate that feedback. It helps us identify areas where we can improve. So keep it coming!
I've used Jacquard for as long as I can remember, especially the textiles, I used to customize t-shirts with them. I definitely have many favorites when it comes to the diversity of products you offer. I've been trying the airbrush colors - they're look promising. After topcoats, that'll probably be the next video! LOL the packaging kills me, you already know!!! Really appreciate you taking feedback so gracefully and taking the time to respond. I will not stop using Jacquard products, there are so many gems to experiment with and put to good use.
I've tried using the textile products on sneakers before and they dried super tacky. The product description said they could be used on leather, so I contacted customer service to ask about it and was told they aren't for use on leather.
@@overly.chromatic if the paint is applied to thick, or if the surface isn't properly prepared, the Textile Colors can feel soft or tacky. But even in that case, just using a finisher over top is effective.

CESTLAVIC. Great video as usual. But what can you do about 15:55. If I do a custom job for a customer, I don't want the paint to crack and fleck off after a few weeks, especially on leather as the paint isn't absorbed as it just lies on the surface. How about priming the area with Acrylic Ghesso or some other type of acrylic primer.
Really learned a lot thx! Have always used Angelus but was curious out the other brands. Now I know! Thinking of trying the terrago luv that they correlate with Pantone
Angelus is the paint that we've probably known about for the longest, so this video really used them as a standard to compare the other paints to. So if you've used Angelus, you can sort of gauge how the other ones are different. I hope you do give Tarrago a try, I haven't used it myself, but that Pantone tool looks pretty useful
Great Video. I'm refurbishing the White on My Bally Andric spectators. I've removed all the White down to the natural leather and have tried Morello leather Paint, Saphir Juvacuir White, and Kiwi Sport White but none of them give Me satisfaction. I believe the Saphir and Morello are too thick and since I want to polish the shoe afterwards they blister when applying too much pressure. That means I have to fill in that piling area like Jacquardo in the vid. I like the results from Angelus since it's not too thick and I like to see the natural leather imprint. Can l use it and use a polish over it? It seems to adher good to the leather and leaves a natural appearence. Also because it's at the busy part of the shoe will it give Me cracking? Thanks for the Video

I wonder how the scrach-test would have varied if different amounts of paint would have been applied... It would be interesting to see a comparison. (2 vs 3 layer, 3 vs 4 layer, 4 vs 5 layer) for each company. Would you mind testing this..? PD: Also you did not apply any finisher. From what I've seen, there's a matt and normal version.
