Hey guys, Robbie here. I just painted my dads favorite chair bright green with this paint. He's fucking pissed and he beat my ass good, paint still looks fresh though. Great stuff you guys make!
I've been wanting to paint my work boots for awhile. My daughter bought me some Angelus paint for Christmas. Now I'm going to order the prep stuff and finisher.
Actually if you have a fabric couch where all the fabric around the couch is washable (white and lichter colours are better) you can dye te couch in a different colour in the washing machine. I do suggest you do this if you're parrents are away for a long weeken d or a week because per dyeing proces you wash the same parts 3 times and it needs to dry afterwards.
Angelus officially became my go-to brand for leather paint, I've painted my entire motorcycle jacket with ease, quick drying, flexible, great covering and pretty cheap; a huge plus is that the paint becomes flexible after at least 24 hours, which is great considering that the jackets keeps moving around. it is also great that the brand can be found worldwide, as I've bought the paint somewhere in Europe.
@too soon to plan so far, so good! i do recommend you to use their acrilic finish. i've used black over white, red respectively, no chipping, no issues so far, and you're moving quite a lot on a chopper lol. as for the acrilic finish, you can paint the gear with either matte or gloss paint, as the finish will make it look satin, gloss or matte, depending on your finish choice.
Thank you for the tips. There are some things here that you've mentioned that are a given that some people like myself might tend to forget. As reminders or as unknown things, your video is fantastic.
I just painted my shoes with pink and gunmetal glitterlites, I added scented pigments to the finisher now my shoes are melon scented!(It's like scratch and sniff stickers, any time the shoe is touched the scent is released)
I have a really cool idea. Y'all should make backpacks with the angelus logo on them so people who make customs can showcase their work in public/at school
I don't know why this video was recommended to me and I didn't want to make this before but now I really wanna make a Soldier 76 leather jacket that's actually durable and not just for cosplay.
You can use some leather preparer and try to break it down but we never really suggest using the paint straight onto fabric if you want it to remain the same softness. Although it may not feel the same it will function the same and look great though.
Definitely gonna be using this for my Jaggi armor. There's no way I'm gonna find a purple to orange to white faux leather. Really neat and informative video though~! Thank you

My first project with Angelus paint is to change a brown Portland Leather bag into a black one. We can’t get degazer here in CA (which I don’t mind), so I prepped with 71% alcohol. It’s going well so far. The coverage is great. Next project will be customizing a leather Gabs shopper that I got for suuuuuper cheap. EDIT: Apparently, I CAN get Deglazer here! Time to deglaze EVERYTHING. Except donuts.
A project I’m planning on doing once school ends is painting the swoosh Nike logo on my Air Force ones, gonna paint it a dark green, leaving the entire shoe white🔥
I know you mentioned you do not paint the rubber portions of the sole/mid sole. But is there anythibg you can do to paint them if you're trying to fix an old, yellowed sole? How about the portion of a mid sole that is a harder, foam like material?
Well, if you don't have it already then a must is our Leather Preparer and Deglazer . This will remove the factory finish allowing the paint to adhere to the surface. Also, depending on the size of your nozzle, you may need Angelus 2-Thin. This will thin the paint to allowing it to pass properly though the airbrush. angelusdirect.com/products/2-thin?_pos=1&_sid=1ea2cd2a6&_ss=r
Heather Donigan It's mostly different from acrylic paint because it has a much higher flexibility when dry, and is less prone to cracking. You can't easily apply normal acrylic paint to leather and suede without risking ruining the materials, so special leather paints are necessary.
STEP 1Ensure the leather surface is clean and dry to the touch.STEP 2Apply a small amount of Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer onto a rag, sponge, applicator pads, cotton balls, or Q-tips.STEP 3Wipe down the desired area and allow the product to completely dry. This will remove the factory paint/finish, leaving a clean surface that Angelus Paint will best adhere to.
Light multiple coats. Use very little paint for the first couple of coats. Allow each coat to dry and after the 2nd or 3rd coat you shouldn't see any more brush strokes. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
Yes but in may require quite a few coats. Make sure to go very light with each layer and allow the paint to fully dry before applying the next. It's better to add multiple light coats rather than one or two thick and heavy coats.
I was given a pair of Palladium boots in lavender and gray colours. I have painted the soles with black leather dye and thinking of painting with angelus acrylic leather dye. How do I keep the paint from chipping off? The boots are made of canvas material and I am thinking of brushing the fabric surface with Rit fabric dye. Should I stick to the rit dye or is the Angelus dye better? Thank you.
It will depend. If you are working with a dark-colored shoe, and you want to go lighter in tone, adding a base layer such as our Mist or Light Grey would definitely help. If you are going from a lighter color to a darker color, you should fine just applying the paint after you've prepared the leather.
Great info and video! If the outsoles have been yellowed, and have been reiced, but can't get it back to icy blue, if I dye the translucent part red, will it actually come out as an orange color or will the red color be dominant?
can you please tell me what you used for preparation for the leather bags or purse (do i need to put something) like the finisher does at the end. thanks for the tips.
Hi Shan, the prep for a leather bag or purse should be the same for any leather item. When prepping the area, we suggest using our Angelus Deglazer or Acetone to remove the factory paint/finish. This will allow Angelus paint to adhere better to the surface. Adding a finisher at the end is optional. All of our paints do Contain a finisher. The 4 finishers that we carry are for a certain type of shine/look. Hope this helps!
Hey your videos are fire. You sold me on this show custom shit. I'm going to order a starter kit and start customising my old shoes. Your videos are amazing.
Unfortunately, we are not confident the paint will adhere to the silicone. Ideally, you want to use the paint on the leather itself. If you have any tears, leather repair kits are ideal - our paint will work on leather fillers!
Serious question. What if I wanna only paint slides? Are there specific acrylic paints? What is the finisher called and what is the cleaner thing you put into the cotton?
Yes, just make sure to properly prep before painting. Use our Leather Preparer and Degalzer to remove the factory finish to allow the paint to properly adhere to the surface. For slides, since it's a synthetic material, you may want to do a little light sanding and/or adding adhesion promoter for extra durability.
Shouldn't be a problem. If the surface is prepped well and the paint is applied correctly then it should be durable for cleanings. We recommend our Easy Cleaner or Foam Tex for best results. Here is a link: angelusdirect.com/collections/clean
Love your paints. I've been using them for about a year now. However, one of the purses that I've cleaned, deglazed and brush painted (only one coat of angelus paint) and it started to peel. I'm assuming I needed at least 2 coats (or more--how many coats do you recommend for a leather purse?) and also, some of your vids say a finishing coat isn't necessary. Is this true or should I have used 2-3 coats PLUS a finishing coat? Thanks for your help.
We always recommend 3-5 thin layers. It allows the layers to bond to one another. Finishers are considered "sheens". With that said, it is a preference. If you prep well, the paint is there to stay.
Well dam im boutta juss paint my car with angelus
Kyid Prophecy ha I'm dead

I 6 recommended this product for some faux letter boots that are peeling. I just wonder which method to use leather or mesh 🤔 recommendations?
If they are peeling the paint will not make the same texture. It will penetrate into the material. It may make the look uneven.
Thank you for the tips. There are some things here that you've mentioned that are a given that some people like myself might tend to forget. As reminders or as unknown things, your video is fantastic.
Lmao I watched the video after I paints my shoes and realized I did everything you said not to-

Now I really want these paints.

She keeps on mentioning the finisher and I was just wondering which one she was using? Thanks so much!
I was recommended this brand, heard it is reasonably priced and works great! I look forward to painting purses and wallets!
Sounds awesome!
I don't know why this video was recommended to me and I didn't want to make this before but now I really wanna make a Soldier 76 leather jacket that's actually durable and not just for cosplay.
Go for it!
We are actually pretty big in the cosplay market! People use our products for everything for jackets to full blown gear.
Angelus Shoe Polish
I used just normal angelus on a mesh shoe and it's hardened. Now u have got some 2 soft. Should I sand it off and start again?
You can use some leather preparer and try to break it down but we never really suggest using the paint straight onto fabric if you want it to remain the same softness. Although it may not feel the same it will function the same and look great though.
Is this paint machine washable
I'ma paint my house! I'ma paint my car! I'ma paint my table! I'ma paint my dog! I'ma paint my plant!
Lol this is exactly how im feeling lmao
Then apply a finisher
Definitely gonna be using this for my Jaggi armor. There's no way I'm gonna find a purple to orange to white faux leather.

This was the best simple video i found on how to paint shoes

When painting shoe laces by hand should the paint be mixed with the too soft?
Yup! Anytime you paint fabric, it's best to mix the paint with 2-soft to keep the laces soft and flexible.

When painting shoes that have color on then already is it best to cover the shoe white first or do the design ya want straight away
It will depend. If you are working with a dark-colored shoe, and you want to go lighter in tone, adding a base layer such as our Mist or Light Grey would definitely help. If you are going from a lighter color to a darker color, you should fine just applying the paint after you've prepared the leather.
How about leather car seats? Seems like it would take an age but it would be so fun to have a custom color in one of my cars!
Yup should of used the 2 soft on my 85 neutral greys on the suede parts. Now they are hard and crusty when I painted them black.
We're sorry to hear this!

Can I paint suede boots with it too? And is there a recommended prep process for them too?
No. The suede would saturate it and make it hard in texture.
What if I absolutely wanted to paint my rubber soles, which paint would work best?
Should I deglaze and condition leather first if the leather item needs conditioning? And then paint?
