Building up to your final colour by mixing in white and working in ratios especially when working over a darker base colour is one of the best tips not in this video... I wish I used thr trace and transfer method earlier it makes life soooo much easier than the free hand sketch .. I used to hand paint custom roller derby helmets. i used a mix of spray paint and acrylic but now I wish I knew about that buildup of coats technique too !!
Can I use angelus jet black on my crocs which is also black but has faded.

Is a top coat necessary to seal in angelus paint? Or is it just used to give a different finish
No, it is mostly for the aesthetics. If you prep properly, your shoes will be fine!
Cassy, how long after painting the shoe, do you apply the finisher?
Usually we suggest 30 minutes to an hour before applying finisher. You want to make sure the paint is nice and dry first.
