Thank you for your question. One of the mistakes that’s been made here is that you are using breast-feeding as a sort of sleeping pill and as a comfort mode. Remember every response you give to a child’s behavior becomes an expectation and then a habit. What is the expectation your child has when they wake up in the morning? If you want the behavior to change, you have to change the expectation. Change the morning routine and this will go away. Same with the afternoon nap. Your child has expectations at nap time. Change the expectations and you will change the behavior. You have asked what to do when your child wakes up at 6 AM. I would suggest giving him something different such as a sippy cup or bottle of milk. What would happen if you did that?
The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding for 2 years and beyond. There is lots of nutritional value in breastmilk beyond the one year mark and it’s perfectly ok and even beneficial to continue until age two or older. That said, if the mother wants to wean, that’s ok too. I’m very much enjoying nursing my 18 month old and have no plans to stop any time soon.
It’s up to each mom to decide when she wants to stop breastfeeding. The World Health Organization also supports the chemical castration and mutilation of children and adults in the name of transgenderism, the murder of innocent children in the womb, and the masking and vaccinating of children for C19 when they know there is a statistically 0% chance of them having any serious effects from that virus. So do I care what they say about this issue or any other? No.
