What great performance! Sadly three of them have left us for good. I was lucky enough to meet Paul Raymond and his lovely wife through my work. He was charming and unassuming. A fabulous musician and sorely missed by the UFO/ Schengen fans and beyond.❤

The late 70's when the analogue presentation was it its zenith....no digital stuff, no phones, big amps...everything raw and virtually unprocessed, the best time.

The bands were cutting their (just look at the audience for the short hair) and even heard you weren't getting signed if you had long hair. Note that Schenker's hair was fairly trim, though not all the band. I guess if you were established you didn't have to go by that new trend. But of course, just a few years later the new metal era had the over the top hairdo's

And as far as your last ignorant statement, most people going to see Michael Schenker love hearing him recreate his amazingly written solos. In my experience of playing with many amazing guitarists the ones that made up a new solo for each performance simply couldn't create a good one to begin with. Schenker's solos are his trademark. If I went to see Michael and he played a different solo on "I'm a Loser" I would be incredibly disappointed. Rock is not Free Form Jazz.

However some parts of certain solos might be an important part of the song like Highway Star guitar solo etc. I do not know about any free form jazz rock bands so there I accept you are right. his live solos sound almost exactly like those pre-recorded in studio, amazing. That's a measure of how good a guitar player is.
