Ok… we address a solution for the symptoms… over the counter medication, surgery... That’s what most doctors prescribe because that’s how they are trained these days. I’m still thankful for doctors. But what is the “root cause”? And what is a solution for the “cause”, not only the symptoms? Diet, allergens in the house…? What would a doctor have said in the past?
I’ve had congestion for well over a year and been absolutely miserable. I read somewhere that dairy can cause congestion so I tried cutting dairy out for a month and my congestion has gotten so much better! Turns out I had a dairy allergy and I’ve heard several ppl say they removed dairy and got better but it didn’t show up on an allergy test. So if you’re like me and constantly congested, I suggest trying to cut out dairy for a month and see if it helps. Allergy tests won’t necessarily point to that! But I wish someone had told me that a year ago and saved me all my misery.
I've been suffering from a blocked nose for about 3 years now. It's gotten so bad that my blood oxygen level is low, but not low enough to be considered "dangerous" (~93% average when taken with an oximeter). I've had allergy tests done, all negative. Have done multiple month-long prescription cortisone (or maybe cortisol?) nasal sprays and even antibiotics in case it's bacterial, but the nasal spray only keeps the swelling down for 10-20 miinutes. When I go outside I can breathe a lot easier and consistently get ~99% blood oxygen levels with the oximeter. My wife says she sometimes feels congested, but not like me. I also work from home and she only does once a week or so. Septum is slightly deviated, as commonly happens with men when they age, so maybe the turbinates are the cause? What causes turbinates to swell? Should I look into getting my home tested for certain chemicals that might cause this? Thanks for the informative video. Have never heard about turbinates but that makes a lot of sense in my case.
@@nr5834 I've worked from home for nearly 20 years, and in this current home for the last 6. We did have mold and got rid of it 2 years ago, but no change. I DID just get back from a monthlong holiday in a coastal region in the US and didn't have the nose problems. Then came back home to a dry, mountainous climate and instantly came back. Plus the houses in Europe are made of stone so not as much fresh air gets in compared to US wooden houses. So I think that's really it - I grew up in coastal US with saltwater air and breathable houses, now live 20 years in Europe in a dry mountainous climate with stone houses and finally the last 4 years it finally got bad. I now do neti pot with salt water almost daily and that seems to help. I guess I'll just have to move back to the seaside eventually.
I’ve had 2 surgeries on my nose. One for a deviated septum and the second to reduce the turbinates. Both did not work, as far as I can see. My nose is still clogged up.
My nose has become very suddenly congested for no illness related reason, nor is it allergies. The blockage is stubborn and has been consistently so for the last 30 hours. Nasal spray is NOT helping at all, which is frustrating! They're usually miracle workers. I'm laying in bed at 5am unable to sleep. I worked with a cheap super glue two days ago, and I have a feeling the fumes from that have caused this irritation in my sinuses. I REALLY hope it's very temporary. This is Hell.
Sudden onset of severe obstruction could be related to a reaction to a chemical exposure, but it’s also very well could be just a virus causing severe obstruction as well. Either way, I’d recommend using saline irrigations pretty consistently 2 to 3 times a day and see if that helps.
In my personal experience - this type of persistent congestion doesn’t need surgeries but an overhaul of the diet. Take out dairy and carbs. Go keto for 3 months. You can reintroduce dairy but preferably raw and A2 cow milk only. All congestion will be gone and some lost weight too …
True Story ( just got back from the chiropractor ) after over 30 years living with a very stuffy nose I can breath through my nose. My neck was out, and the chiropractor put my body into alignment. I believe I received a miracle. I have so much joy and feel like I have been born again. I honestly have been raised from the dead. I have spent 1000’s of dollars on over the counter medicines etc. Please go see your chiropractor ❤️🇨🇦❤️
Nasal spray is of course pure chemistry and nonsense. I don't understand how a doctor can recommend something like that? Especially because that doesn't solve the actual cause but suppresses the symptoms.
I had the worst stuffy nose for 30 years. Coughing and coughing all day long. I just visited the chiropractor and he opened my airwaves. My body was so out of alignment etc. please go to the chiropractor. My neck was also out too ❤️🇨🇦❤️😊
I can breathe but it’s been stuffy for as long as I can remember it’s constant it’s 24/7 so as you can likely guess I never get sick. I never breathe through my mouth that wouldn’t feel natural the instinct is to breathe through the nose because that’s the protective gear. No I’d never use any nasal sprays no steroids. I already know that once you start messing around with your body it doesn’t work the way it used to anymore. I leave mine well enough alone have already tested my theory and it stands correct I’m not one to go along with pretending that mind knows more than the billions of years self regulated system lol
I have had a congested nose all my life I don’t even know what my real voice sounds like because I’m so nasally haha but nothing works none of the allergy meds or sprays.
Sometimes my nose is like stuffy I blow it and then I have to use nasal spray cause my nose gets like dry I have bought alargies medicine and it don’t work the nasal spray works opens up for awhile and at time my nose gets dripping and I blow it and again it feels dry and have too spay again what can I do
why when im awake i can breathe inward and its like snoring inside my nose near the bridge? i can feel it vibrate, like an opening with something swollen that move up and down as air flows in and out? it sounds/feels like theres a ton of liquid in there, but if i snort backwards to have it go down my throat like if i was sick or something to clear it, sometimes theres not even any snot or drip, its dry air. so whats moving and causing the issue then? its making me miserable every day all day for years especially bad in the morning and around allergens/ after eating spicy or acidic foods. i can somtiems feel sinus swelling near top of nose and eyes too. smoking weed calms me down and that in turn seems to calm the nose thing down. but idk what it is and dont want to go to dr to be told anxiety yet again
It's really hard to get steroids up your nose when they're swollen shut unfortunately you have to use ultraviolet open it first and then use the nasal spray or the steroid spray. That's my experience I'm 63 and I've had this since I was 20 and had a bad car accident on the right side and they originally prescribed me Sudafed
Hi had turbinate surgery to reduce them a year and a half ago. But now it’s worse where almost both of my noses get blocked every night, and maybe one at times during the day. I use Otrivin multiple times a day. What is happening/what can I do?
I started having issues when e started to consume all that suggar from sodas and eating some sweets before that i only drank watter and consumed no suggar
I dnt breathe through my mouth but im 25/7 stuffy nose. Ive tried the sprays, the meds, the injections, the asthma inhailors, my back hurts from not bein able to breathe. Ant said im fine and i just have allergies..
Ent* i cant do steroids cus i have eczema and steroinds actually make me more allergic. I been vegan for 10 yrs 4 yrs raw vegan which helped but now im getting really dizzy , i have chronic vetigo which doctors cant help
I kind of lived with it for years but then I discovered nose sprays. it worked great at the beginning then now it's not working as well and it gets worst after the effects wear off, I did the nose rinse but then I sneezed all the time. I must have a environmental irritant but really can't do much about that if it's dust. dust always build up in the house
Empty nose syndrome is usually due to having too much tissue removed from the inside of the nose. There are very few surgeries that we will consider for empty nose syndrome, and this is not one of them.
