Actually no. He cheated on his wife one time with a nymph called Minthe. When Persephone found out about this, she turned Minthe into a mint plant and stomp on her repeatedly.
I agree, Hera might have been happier with Hades since he we don't see him having so many known affairs like his brothers. Plus if he did they all ready live in the underworld she could easily tournament his mistress's for all eternity.

True but in Hera's defense her husband is literally one of the most powerful beings in the pantheon and certainly the most powerful of the Olympians (maybe Athena and Dionysus could match or beat him) so she can't win that fight at least not alone.

It's so weird how Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, but like in these types of videos, they keep saying like other goddesses are "the most beautiful goddess or being".
Perhaps it more appropriate to think of Aphrodite as the goddess of desire and romantic love, as opposed to the goddess of beauty.

@@cheriann6461 Her domain is love AND beauty. There are many deities of different types of love, but she is the only one that governs beauty (in greek/roman mythology). Perhaps Hera was the most beautiful to only Zeus, but she was most likely not the most beautiful objectively. Thats why Aphrodite was known to punish those who claimed to be more beautiful than her.
The claim that Hera was the most beautiful probably was before Athena was born, and Aphrodite showed up on the clam. She may not had had any rivals in beauty until they came.

It's such a shame that hera is always portrayed in such a negative light. We lack insight on what made her beloved by people. Even hades had some positive tales.

Most people nowadays don't believe that the gods existed as the people on the sky but rather they represent human qualities and ideals, to me someone that have hera as their patron God wants to attract a healthy marriage, family, pregnancy in their life. There is also a part of the story between Zeus and Hera that I personally find it kind of romantic. After the whole rebellion thing against Zeus, he imprisoned her for a couple of days but this time Zeus morale and mentality were very low. He began to feel useless and empty by not having his wife beside him. He took advice from other gods and even some mortals about what to say to her because in reality Hera was one of the few gods that Zeus kind of afraid to yell at her,she was a very mentally and physically strong goddess. So after the advices that he took Zeus finally realised all the mistakes and cheating that he did and immediately after that he freed Hera and promised her to be by her side forever and Hera realising her own mistakes too she forgave him. It is true Zeus never cheated Hera again and Hera didn't behave so cruel to certain mortals or even Zeus. I know this sounds kind of generic or cringy but it was of the versions of the myth between these two. Hera was never such a cruel goddess after all.

Regarding 0:46 Cronus did indeed fear that he would be dethroned. Cronus’s fear was of his children rather than of his siblings. This was because Cronus had dethroned his father Uranus by castrating him with a sickle and discarding his genitals into the sea. Cronus’ fear of emasculation by his children drove him to swallow all of his children except for Zeus who had been rescued by his mother Rhea. Rhea deceived Cronus by giving him a supposed infant hidden in swaddling cloth. The pretended infant was actually the Omphalos Stone which Cronus swallowed. The real Zeus had been hidden by Rhea in a cave on Mount Ida on Crete.
I think it is unfair to Hera that she has so many negative stories with her name, I think she is that way because of Zeus.........imagine if the roles were reversed, not extreme but anybody would do what she did if they were in her place

I can't believe you didn't mention the giant crab Hera sent to assist the hydra in his fight against Hercules. The demigod slayed both monsters but for its valiant effort Hera put the crab among the constellations which is how we got Cancer.

From what I know, the ancient Greeks described Hera as "ox-eyed" and "white-armed", and believe it or not, those were real compliments - they meant she had large, soft brown eyes that one could get lost in, and a clear, pure, and unblemished complexion that was as fair as ivory. I guess i got an answer for why she only hunts the women and their half-God sons/or daughters instead of Zeus. Cause she had rebelled against him beforehand and got imprisonment for it until he had her vow to never rebel against him again.

Hera, whose name is pronounced 'hee-ra' is Time itself. This is why she appears to be so unforgiving. Time is relentless. That is also why she is the Great Goddess. Without Time there is no life. No tomorrow means death (although Hera is not one of the death deities herself). Hera is not actually Greek, she is much older.

There are many comments about Zeus being unfaithful. The Greek Divines do not create from nothing like the Abrahamic God can. So it could be argued that Zeus sleeping around was how he created aspects of the world. Key traits of Zeus are his magnanimity and generosity. So we can see his offspring as gifts to mankind.

I believe Hera should be liberated from all those bad things put in her name..... let's start with the part that Zeus was her brother who forced her into marriage coz he couldn't take no as an answer......then he became the most unfaithful husband ever known.....all Hera needed was love and respect and I believe the story would have been different
So he forced her to marry him and yet... Instead of being relieved that he goes elsewhere to satisfy his disgusting urges, she gets angry at the women he sleeps with. Why? Why, though she can and does leave him when angered enough, does she always go back to him of her own accord? Why was she so furious when she thought he was marrying another woman and replacing her? She sure doesn't act like a woman forced to be with someone she wants nothing to do with.
