(Kind of ironic actually) And that he gave away Aphrodite to be released. She was into the god of war (Ares) before she was forced to marry the other man. There's other things but I'll leave it be, Nonetheless still a decent story.
This is such a sad love story, even though Hephaestus didn't do nothing but be faithful and attend to his jobs his wife still betrays him instead of being patient and understanding:
Aphrodite is the goddess of love, sexuality and procreation. If her needs aren't satisfied by her husband Hephaestus she would definitely feel bored and her job would be useless to her.
Why would she be patient and understanding if she didn't love her husband in the first place? Imagine yourself being in her situation and being forced to marry someone you don't actually love? Hephaestus just got his Karma for tricking Zeus and forcing Aprodite to marry him.
I don't know if a remember this correctly but ... Hephaestus was in love with Aphrodite and asked Zeus, as a reward for the weapons he created for his father, to compel the goddess of love to marry him. Aphrodite was against it, since she was so self absorbed and only wished to marry someone equal with her looks - she was very disappointed with Hephaestus being her husband since he wasn't handsome at all- even his mother, Hera, despised him.

I know for a fact the beginning on this isn’t true. Aphrodite never actually loved Hephaestus. Hera forced them to be married, as the other gods could never be jealous of Hephaestus.
Love how it's sort of glossed over with a love theme when 1. Aphrodite was not happy about this union as she had wanted to marry Ares, she was either given to Hephaestus as prize or he blackmailed them into giving her. And 2. She wasn't lonely or sad about his absence, she never even wanted Hephaestus. I just dislike how many try to make a villain of Aphrodite by making a victim of Hephaestus.

Y’all didn’t mention what happened afterwards! Hephaestus divorced Aphrodite and took 100 wagonloads of Ares’ spoils of war as punishment. He then married one of Aphrodite’s handmaidens (the charities), a sweet lady named Aglaea who remained devoted to him and the two were pretty happy together. It also isn’t mentioned here but Phobos and Deimos came from Ares and Aphrodite’s second Union. Their first produced Harmonia, who Hephaestus had believed to be his own daughter until now. It wasn’t Harmonia’s fault, but the angry Hephaestus, unable to inflict further punishment on Ares and Aphrodite, took his vengeance on Harmonia by proxy. At her wedding to King Cadmus of the Greek city of Thebes, Hephaestus bestowed upon her a beautiful necklace which he claimed would increase her beauty a thousandfold. It did, but the necklace also held a dark secret. Hephaestus had cursed it to bring extreme misfortune to all who wore it, hoping to punish not only Harmonia and Cadmus but their entire bloodline, which it did. Cadmus lost everything and both he and Harmonia were ultimately transformed into lowly snakes for all eternity. It’s even rumored Helen of Troy came into possession of the necklace centuries later.
The word "titan" is a term given to Kronos and his brothers by their father after they castrated him. It means "strainer" for they had overstepped their bounds. It does NOT denote a separate race from the gods. The version most attribute to Aphrodite's birth is the one where she was born from Ouranos' severed genitals. There is another version where she is born from Zeus and the sea goddess Dione.

Haha I was not aware of this. I love how petty Aphrodite is ♥️
Excellent art, excellent storytelling!

@Abiola Akorede Suggesting possible subjects for up-coming videos on this channel. Seems like you are the only one who didn't understand that.
I wish hollywood would make a series about the Greek mythology it's going to be an amazing series
Even GODS are ridiculed when their wives decide to have an entanglement ...
MAN is an Island MAN Shall Stand Alone...
@Valentwine no it means men are never shown compassion .so a Man must keep going alone .
This makes me want to practice drawing comics myself.
Also I wanna see the story of Hermes stealing from Apollo in comic form!
"Apparently Ares decided to devout himself to a different sort of battle a more hand to hand." HERMES 😭
Out of rage hephaestus created a mortal more beautiful than the aphrodite the goddess of beauty as a revenge. Pandora was born, beauty so beyond that not even the gods cant resist.
Just a quick correction: Aphrodite was born in Kythera Islands, not Cyprus :D
PS, I love your content! Sincerely, a native Greek
People always bashing Aphrodite like she wasn't forced to marry Hephe-what's-his-face. She was pretty much with Ares before Zeus decided to ruin that for her 🙄
Terrific narration and amazing ilustrations. Loved the stories once more.
Your videos are truly an art of appreciation 😀
Thanks!
Thanks for the support 😊
As saying goes..."All's fair in love and war" Ares and Aphrodite just put it literally. XD
There's alot missing here 😯
Like how Hephaestus was rejected by the gods (even though he was a demi) because Hephaestus was disabled so he got zeus back by sending a "gift" to him of a throne that once you sit you can't leave. (Kind of ironic actually) And that he gave away Aphrodite to be released. She was into the god of war (Ares) before she was forced to marry the other man.
There's other things but I'll leave it be, Nonetheless still a decent story.
Hephaestus wasn't a demi-god and the throne was given to Hera, not Zeus
Hephaestus looks great in this comic :D
This is such a sad love story, even though Hephaestus didn't do nothing but be faithful and attend to his jobs his wife still betrays him instead of being patient and understanding:
She had no moral obligation to be patient and understanding, since she did not marry him willingly.
Yeah, but she could just follow him where he worked. It wasn't that hard.
Aphrodite is the goddess of love, sexuality and procreation. If her needs aren't satisfied by her husband Hephaestus she would definitely feel bored and her job would be useless to her.
Why should she be patient and understanding? She didn’t marry out of love, she was forced to.
Why would she be patient and understanding if she didn't love her husband in the first place? Imagine yourself being in her situation and being forced to marry someone you don't actually love? Hephaestus just got his Karma for tricking Zeus and forcing Aprodite to marry him.
The makers of the comic series is so talented... wow 😮😮😮😮😮 appreciation
Yep Hephaestus fell from Olympus with a little encouragement from mom or dad depending on the version of the legands.
I just realized the song or lyric “love and war” fits the relationship of ares and aphrodite
she’s love and beauty and lust he’s war and brutal bloody violence as shown in the video
I'm loving your way of telling the stories. I'm hooked
I can't stand stand Aphrodite. Hephaestus deserves better.
@@savagedarksider5934 he chose his poison and now he must drink it I cant feel sorry for someone who willingly chose to be In that situation knowing the person doesn't love them
@@durrangodsgrief6503 I still stand by what I say.
@@savagedarksider5934 APHRODITE deserves better
Aphrodite loved ares from the start, she never wanted to marry Hephaestus.
*Can't a girl chose her own men?!*
Not in Ancient Greece.
Bro she cheated.
@@TT-sy5ne well she’s the goddess of love too so she needs love and attention all the time her husband couldn’t give and also neglected their relationship not to forget she fell in love ares and ares fell in love with her and she was finally happy
@@TT-sy5ne Is it really cheating when you're forced to marry someone? I'm just saying she had no choice in marrying him.
In some versions, they divorced sometime before the Trojan War
My name is Aphrodite and I was born under Venus. Meanwhile, my husband's horoscooe is Aries 😅 therefore I call him my Ares and we want to name our first child "Anteros" (one of the Erotes) 🤷🏼♀️
Ares : something is rising but it's not my sword
Aphrodite: thank god it is not sharp
I love the part about the rooster, that’s an interesting tidbit. Thanks for sharing.
I love Greek mythology
I love how you do these in comic drawing form!
Maybe Aphrodite has great pity for him, and I was so sad that no one liked Ares just because he looks like a big savage😢😢😢
I'M IN LOVE WITH THE ART STYLE
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Helios be like Ummmhmm guurl I got some teaaa sis!
Of all the punishments devised by the gods being united with Aphrodite certainly must be unbearable, poor Ares 😂
THE ART STYLE IS SOOOO GOOD
I know for a fact the beginning on this isn’t true. Aphrodite never actually loved Hephaestus. Hera forced them to be married, as the other gods could never be jealous of Hephaestus.
The art is so fricken good. Whoever you are you have a gift. I wish my comic looked this nice.
Is this story real?
@@GunnerLegend there’s many different interpretations of the story. But in general it’s Aphrodite being forced to marry Hephaestus while not even desiring him.
@@ScarlettDemi ohhh I see but is the story real?
@@GunnerLegend | Yeah of course it’s real. I mean, obviously the Greek Gods are real, right ? So I chatted up my girl Aphrodite on Snapchat a few minutes ago and she confirmed the whole thing !
@@charlietownsend2826 they are fake actually
Man Kinds feel like ares and Hephestus coulda been bros considering ones the crafter and the other wields the weapons forged. That would be a pretty cool fan story in its own right.
The "spoils of war" part never happened.
Isn't Aphrodite a titan? She was born from Uranus nuts so shouldn't she be considered a titan instead of a god?
The word "titan" is a term given to Kronos and his brothers by their father after they castrated him. It means "strainer" for they had overstepped their bounds. It does NOT denote a separate race from the gods.
The version most attribute to Aphrodite's birth is the one where she was born from Ouranos' severed genitals. There is another version where she is born from Zeus and the sea goddess Dione.
It depends. In some stories she is Zeus daughter
Ok "Uranus nuts" should definitely be a brand.
This adaptation of Ares looks like Anakin Skywalker
Hephaestus isn’t looking bad in this one
So Men are from Mars(Ares) and Women are from Venus (Aphrodite).
I love how he said,” he knew what was going on, but he didn’t wanna be known as a snitch 😂😂😂😂”
Bruhhh this Aphrodite, even had relationship with Adonis alongside with Persephone 🤣 Using Hades to sneak up to Adonis and having u know 🤣
"Poor ares didnt stand a chance" 🤣
