    I have this same generator and can say it is the best generator I have ever had. The spilt phase 30 amp is ideal for a 50 amp trailer..unless you want to parallel them together as noted above. It is also very quiet in relation to other similar generators. Yes they're expense but it's for a reason, you get what you pay for.

    I love mine since I got it months ago. Have you used the little battery tender cord? They don’t really go into much detail in the manual. It looks like you can just keep it plugged in to keep the battery fresh. But they don’t supply any information on it really. So I’m not sure if it’s ok to keep it connected full time.

    Hi Gavin Could you do me a big favor.
    While doing this test were you able to hook this setup to your trailer. According to a lot of folks the DuroMax XP9000iH and the XP9000iH-pk cant output 120v on 2 legs from the 50amp plug since the neutral is missing. An example of a generator thats wired correctly is the Honda eu7000is, (SOME of the predator 9500s even some of these are missing the neutral on the front panel.) and the new Genmax. The way the DuroMax is wired its only be able to safely produce 240v, not 120/240.
    Could you check out this post I started about using the xp9000iH with there xp9000iH-pk parallel box with no neutral connection. Seems odd DuroMax would do this.
    Site is power equipment forum and the post is Labeled Duromax XP9000iH-pk parallel box question

  • @bubbatime
    @bubbatime 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    As depicted in the video, with both generators running on that single small propane tank, as I understand it, you wont get anywhere near the rated power on propane. I believe these large generators require a 100 lb propane tank when ran near the limit. Thats because the liquid propane has to evaporate into the gaseous state, which cools down and will freeze the connector/lines with a huge load that two generators could pull. So while the demonstration is appreciated, you cannot run two generators this size on a small propane tank. Check the manual of these large generators. It probably says to use a 100 lb propane tank in the literature. So to run the two generators parallel, you would technically need TWO 100 lb propane tanks.

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the manual does recommend 40 lb propane tanks, I don’t think the generators will pull enough gas to freeze the lines

    Hi Gavin
    Im sorry to keep bothering you but Iv got a quick question about your paralleled XP9000iH Video. Where you able to hook up a load to the parallel box or check the voltage on the 30 or 50 amp plug on the parallel box.I am trying to get an answer from Duromax. This is what I asked them Since the parallel wires are switched at the 3 pole master breaker on the XP9000iH, what is the procedure for connecting both generators to work in parallel as far as what order to start them so they are synced. Since the parallel connectors are off untill the 3 pole master breaker on the XP9000iH is switched on, How can the second XP9000iH detect the master. Just curious.
    Thanks for your help

      Although you have 15Kw running, as Gavin pointed out, you've got a 30amp, 240V outlet, which will only put out 7.2kw and a 50amp, 240V outlet, which will only put out 12kw. I think they should have replaced the 50 amp outlet with a 60 amp outlet, but that would then require a 4 gauge wire, which is very expensive (and hard to work with when constructing a cord to run to your house). On the other hand, you're losing running watts.

Duromax recently replied to me that they are developing a ATS. My guess is it will be similar to the one from Westinghouse with a couple of 20 amp outlets. I also received the pin out on the ATS connector by request, though Duromax can never tell me which connector size that is. Closest thing I can find is that it's an aviation connector, but I can never match the measurements.

So when the grid goes down I am able to power my entire panel (after disconnecting from the main of course)
    The impression I get with this Parallel Kit is the 50 Amp Plug will only provide 240 Not 240 / 120. Is that correct?
