Question fro Duramax site: So if I wanted to buy two generators and the parallel kit and tie them into my breaker panel, How can I get the maximum combined power? Would I be limited to 50A, and then have the spare 30A I would have to run extension cords?

I can't remember where, but I heard somewhere that the reduced power rating on propane was due to the tank getting cold and pressure dropping, so theoretically, if you had a big enough tank, regulator, propane hose, and or a tank heater, you could get the same power out of a generator as you can on gas. I'd imagine you have to run on propane for some amount of time before you can't make full power anymore. Anyway, thanks for the video! This answered most of the questions I had.
I'm not sure about that. I think it's the energy density of the fuel. The only evidence I have to back that up is that the RPMs of the generator rev up when it's on propane for the same load. You can hear it in this video and Gavin mentioned it in a previous video, in the context of how the generator will run quieter on gas because it can run the same load at a lower RPM. Does my reasoning make sense?
@@kettch42 The change in RPM comes down primarily to the differing stoichiometric combustion ratios between propane and gas, (Propane (LP) (By mass 15.5 : 1) (By volume 23.9 : 1) (Percent fuel by mass 6.45%) vs Gasoline (By mass 14.7 : 1) (Percent fuel by mass 6.8%)), the energy density for propane is actually slightly higher than gasoline by weight (12.9 kWh/kg vs 12.7 kWh/kg respectively). By volume it does differ a little bit (7.5 kWh/l for propane and 8.76 kWh/l for gas), but that can all be addressed with the aforementioned properly sized hoses, regulators, and carburetors, etc. So, for a given situation a generator will have to run a little bit faster on propane just to maintain a clean burn but on an inverter generator it technically doesn't matter what speed the generator runs at as long as there's enough energy for the load at that RPM, and the engine can physically run at that speed, (the whole reason inverter generators were invented was to be able to vary the RPM of the engine). So, I guess to say what I originally said more concisely for an inverter generator it should not matter as long as the engine can go a few 100 RPM above (this number will vary with displacement) what it does on gas (around 3600 RPM), however, most 3600 RPM are rated for 3800 RPM. Technically, it's a bigger deal for traditional generators it's running a higher RPM your power quality will suffer if you can't maintain the same engine speed, so, I guess without some clever tricks you actually would have to cut your rated output when converting those to propane. That's probably why dual fuel is more popular on inverter generators anyway.
@@xsterawesome Thanks for all that insight. My thought is that since we are talking about maximum power, there is a maximum RPM that the engine/generator can do (not sure what the limiting factor is though), so if both gas and propane have the same max RPM, gas will always produce more power.
A few questions. You used the separate 50amp output on each of them, how can we tell they were functioning in parallel at all? Why did the watchdog show 14.5KW when it only had the RV on it? Shouldn’t that load remained constant when you started the heater?
Answer: Yes, the 50 amp receptacle and the 30 amp receptacle will need to be used at the same time to take full advantage of the power output available. Please note that any 50 amp receptacle will be limited to 12,000 watts at its peak capacity.
Very interesting. Its cool how you can parallel them together. I assume that they automatically synchronize phases? You could run an average size house on that. Great video!
I have these two and plan to use them together in parallel, with two inlets to our house, this is possible because our house happens to split the power in right away into a “lower” and “upper” panel. I had planned to use the 50A AND 30A outlets at once, as I understand only one generator outlets can be used when in parallel correct? But I noticed you split the 50A outlet in this test, can you elaborate a little more on that? In theory you should only have been able to pull 12kW like that, right? Or am I missing something? Bottomline my two questions are: A) Can I use both the 30A and 50A at once when paralleled to get around the 14kw as you showed here? B) Could I use the two 50A outlets from the two generators at once, I think no?
Before seeing this video I was leaning towards getting the predator 9500 after watching Jason Wallace's videos. But after seeing this video, I think I prefer the Genmax. Any thoughts?
Do you feel than running 2 GENMAX 7500 in parallel can easily run a whole house including AC? Is it better in your opinion to have (2) 7500 vs (1) Duramax 16000W inverter gen. If drama goes down, you have nothing backing it up...thank you
Three completely different generators in my opinion, the two 7250 it’s going to sound differently than two 9000 or 10,000 paralleled. The V-twin engine on the Duromax will handle the power a lot better but I do understand redundancy it’s just not what I’m thinking about when my generator is running, properly maintaining the engine and you’ll be fine.
I don't quite get this. Is paralleling in this case combining the power? Or just synching the phases? I would expect that you'd plug a 50amp cord from each generator into a device, then there would be one output (maybe a 60 amp plug).
It’s combining the power, and since the genmax has a 50amp plug you don’t need a parallel kit just the parallel cables. Now instead of 7600W you can now power 12,500W

Thank you for your videos Gavin. I would like to see you run your house on these generators in parallel since this is what I want to do. My house is natural gas, specifically the dryer, central heating, the water heater and kitchen stove and oven are all natural gas. I have a 4 ton Trane manufactured in 2017 with an LRA of 124 and an RLA of 18.5 and a micro air soft start on the way. Do you think I would be able to run my house on 1 of these 9000 watt generators or would I need to purchase 2 and run them in parallel like you just did? I also have a pool but am not sure how many watts it pulls yet. Do you know if there is a natural gas conversion kit for these generators? I believe that the volume of natural gas I have for the pool heater may be enough to run these generators. This would be a great alternative to the $13,000 to $15,000 cost of a generic home back up system. Thanks again for the info.

I found your videos when researching the duramax 9000ih. Best most thorough reviews of any product I have read or watched. If your requirement was 12000 watts would it be best for a fuel consumption standpoint to have two running parallel or one 12000 watt generator?
The problem is, I haven’t found a generator that you can buy with 12,000 W that has a true eco-mode so you could save some fuel. I’m pretty sure you looked at the Westinghouse 12,000 W dual fuel. It all depends on if you have the space to store two 9000w generators
Nice test. Maybe try to push one generator to 6500 or so and let it run for a hour or so with a heavy load. This will put the inverter module through its paces. I think this would be real world for whole house backup power needs. The motor is making the power on LP gas to meet the 7600 max. That is good to know. What elevation are you at? I am 250’ above sea level so engine power won’t suffer from altitude. Hurricanes are the reason for backup power for me. They happen in the late summer months when it is hot out, 90+ deg. Putting a 6000-6500w load in the summer heat will show what it is capable of. Thanks for the very good videos.
I think the 50a plug is useable without being paralleled to the second generator but will be limited to 30a (the output of 1 generator). Is that accurate?

hey I just bought the 9000ie and the exhaust is all the way at the bottom, but on genmax website it shows its on top and I need it on top, and all the reviews for the 9000ied show it on top but nobody shows the back exhaust on the 9000ie.
Ok so I understand the 100+ amps that was recorded was accomplished by paralleling the 2 generators and the 100+ amps was passed through the 50 amp outlet on the primary generator? Is a surge protector link like the one used required or are there other types. Very cool and could be what looking for if I can have the 100 amps available over the course of 24 hours per week.
Hey Gavin, I love the channel and find it very informative. I am a little confused by this video though and hope you can help me understand. It seems as thought the generators aren't putting out the full rated capacity. On Gasoline they are rated at 9000 watts starting and 7600 running, and propane it is rated 8550 watts starting and 7200 running. When you did the first test with the heater on propane it ran fine at 7200 watts which is what I expected since the running watts on propane is 7200, then you added the light and it went to 7600 and it tripped. That makes sense on propane. Then you did the test on gasoline and once you added the light it went to 7600 again but it tripped after a few seconds. That was unexpected since it is rated for 7600 on gas. Then when you paralleled them together both were running on gasoline and you only got 14,397 watts before they tripped, I would have expected 15,200 watts. What am I missing?
Hey Darryl Even though it’s rated for 15,200 W running when paralleled you can only really pull 12,500W on a 50 amp Inlet box With that said, when you’re parallel you do lose some power in line loss. That is why I do this test so we can get real world numbers anyways I appreciate your question I hope this helps and thanks for watching
7600W rated on gasoline is a marketing number and also an ideal max rating. A load could be 7601W and if it goes for more than 5 seconds, it will trip out the inverter into overload protection. I think it's fair to say that even a "7.5kW" load reading should basically be considered 100% rated capacity, especially since a 7.5kW reading on the display could be as high as 7499W accounting for rounding error. This is one of the downsides with inverter generators; they are less tolerant of overloads than alternator generators.
Good video. I feel like they didn’t live up to the 7600 rating on gasoline. Overload light was on and tripped it pretty quick. Shouldn’t they be able to run at the stated rating of 7600?
I agree. These are not 9kw gens they are barely 7.5 kw capable. That said, they are pretty nice gensets. The fact that they are made in china are a problem for me however. It remains to be seen now reliable they are as well.
Where can you buy this generator and how much is it? Also what about the warranty, if something happens to it can you return it like the predator and just get a new one or do you get a lot of hassle behind it
Where did you get that parallel kit. I've checked GenMax's website and all they have is this RV box parallel kit. I just want to get the same wires you have.
Have you seen a problem with the fuel selector spinning all the way around? I just ran mine for the first hour but when I tried to start up the second time it won't run.
I'm looking to upgrade my whole home setup to an inverter style with propane as an alternative fuel. I like the idea that you can mix and match the 7250 and 9000 in parallel. My big question is, can you have the parallel cable plugged into both and just run one generator? Main reason is to leverage the smaller, quieter and more efficient generator at night where I just need 300-600 watts (always on load and TV's) with the A/C on for an hour or so once or twice (2500-2700watts). Then fire up the bigger second generator when I know i'll need more demand (cooking, washer/dryer, more lights, etc). A follow up to that, if the 7250 is the primary with the 50amp plug, can it be "on" but not running, and receive power from the 9000? Running the bigger generator with more head room durning the day and adding the little one for capacity. Another reason for this question is to leverage the remote start and not training family members on how to re-cable things if I'm not around. Having the ability to mix and match which one is running, I could add some automation. Watching a near real time monitory like Sense, I could add automations that would trigger the second generator based on average home usage or something. :)
Yes, you can have the parallel cable plugged into both generators and run one at a time then you can remote start from the inside the second generator they will phase together and work just fine

I ordered the Genmax parallel kit. It came with all male connectors that will not plug into my generators because they too are all male. I cannot locate any adapters anywhere. The temperature here hit 114 Fahrenheit. I need both generators to run two roof air conditioners. As soon as possible. Do you think a person can modify or change the males out using 10 gauge automotive female bullet plugs? The Genmax wires are not heavy gauge, but they look strange in that the male connectors look “plastic-like” . Red colored conductor plugs. I like your content A TON. Sincerely, Steve in the Desert.
Thank you for “seeing” my dilemma. It is a conundrum. I have two 3500 dual fuel generators. The parallel ports are MALE. Are the parallel ports on your gensets also male? I hoped to parallel the 3500’s and plug my 50 amp cord into the Genmax parallel kit. The manufacturer says they are out of the adapters. I would make the them IF someone on this planet could send me the pieces. Most images of parallel harnesses do not reveal if male or female plugs reside inside the protective sheath. Hi I'm a new subscriber and you seem to know a lot about Generators I've had a Honda 6,500 for the last 12 years I put it through allot in the last 7 years I own a Food trailer So we're constantly using it 5 to 6 days a week 12 to 14 hours a day and I know it's lost some power but it's lasted this long I really wanted the new version the 7000IU honda generator But living in California they no longer sell it Or ship it over here I would have to go out of state And from what I see they're all on back order so I would be lucky to get just wondering what Generator would you prefer if I can't get the Honda
I wanted to make sure I mentioned this, The way Duramax has this wired with no neutral and only using the ground wire Will still give you 120 and 240v but its not being implemented correctly, they're sending all of the current back down the ground wire. For this to be safe and correct there really needs to be a neutral. Period. The Honda eu7000is parallel kit is doing this the correct way.
I follow a lot of your videos. I have switched my preference to this Genmax over the Duromax, only becuse it has the 50 amp outlet. If Duromax 9000 made one with 50 amp outlet I would stick with themsince they automatically choose 240/120. Maybe Duromax will upgrade soon with a 50 amp outlet. I just hate having to convert the bond to floating...I assume that would void the warranty? My only hope is that Generlink will make a transfer switch with a 50 amp outlet sometime soon.

Great Video. I was just curious. The Duromax XP9000iH generators use only 3 wires per generator ( No Dedicated Neutral) to the Xp900iH-PK Parallel Box. After checking the schematic of the generators it looks like the ground and the neutral are wired together. I guess this is Ok ? Also, This is from the Duramax Xp900iH-PK site. Just saw this on there site also. Answer. The XP9000iH will have a bonded neutral and ground wire; and if your hooking the generator up to your home you'll want to use a 3 pole transfer switch that will transfer the neutral wire. Interesting
Yeah, -the ground and neutral share the same wire in the parallel kit for the Duromax.- If you want to DIY unbond the neutral on the Duromaxes (it's easy), then you have to account for needing to add a neutral wire to the parallel kit, -and somehow also unbond the neutral in the factory parallel kit plug.- Maybe you'd be better off just making a DIY custom parallel kit in that case. [Edit: I have since learned that the Duromax kit is 240V only, and there is no neutral whatsoever.]
@@Rk-mt4ll no, no problem. the Duromax parallel design is the only one that is done completely right as is. It only gets complicated if you start modifying the generators by removing the neutral bond. Then you need to be aware that the parallel kit isn't going to be okay without modification also. [Edit, as long as you're aware that the Duromax kit is 240V only, not 240/120V.]
Sad to say my Genmax 9000 IEDC wont do an electric start or pull start at 10 hours in the clock. GENMAX US service is telling me I need to pay for the repair due to improper maintenance. Maintenance was performed per manual including removing gas and draining the carb.
Doesn’t seem to be available in California. Amazon shows it but says unavailable to your address. Several other distributors seem to omit CA. . I’m thinking not CARB approved, and frankly I don’t blame them for not going through the hoops and expense.

Check your digitial display for errors in showing the "total run time hours". Genmax will send you a replacement display which is very easy to swap out.
Garvin I really didn't see the purpose of this video because you paralleled two genmax together but when you hit 14,200 it was overloaded and triggered off when to me it should of stayed running since each genmax can sustain 7200 watts continuously together that would be 14,400 continuous watts
@Gavin’s Garage so you don't put the ground on the generators you would have to ground them on the house I understand making both gens floating but with the parallel key do you still put the ground on each side of the generator
I'm curious how they are dismissing the problem of having the neutral and ground bonded on both generators. I don't think it's a major safety issue, but it is technically against the rules.

This is similar to a question I have: I own the Gm9000 dual fuel and want to hoook up to home via a transfer switch. The manual states not to remove bonded neutral. But here I am reading you should remove bonded neutral even if using 50A outlet to transfer switch. Color me confused
Hi Gavin Could you do me a big favor. According to a lot of folks the DuroMax XP9000iH and the XP9000iH-pk cant output 120v on 2 legs from the 50amp plug since the neutral is missing. An example of a generator thats wired correctly is the Honda eu7000is, (SOME of the predator 9500s even some of these are missing the neutral on the front panel.) and the new Genmax. The way the DuroMax is wired its only be able to safely produce 240v, not 120/240. Could you check out this post I started about using the xp9000iH with there xp9000iH-pk parallel box with no neutral connection. Seems odd DuroMax would do this. This unit is one of my most recommended and it’s actually the one I kept for myself. I love the fact that it has an oil filter/screen it’s forced oil lube and force air cooled. It has a 50 amp plug so you don’t need a parallel kit power monitor co monitor with rear exhaust. It’s actually 7 db quieter than the other ones with same power

I have a Genmax with only 20 hrs on it and does not make any power and can not get the part i need to fix it so i have a boat anker now . Genmax are Junk
Since you combine both generators you have a total amperage of 63.3 A the generator already has a 50 amp plug so you’re just crossing over 2 live, neutral and ground it’s four wires

I have these two and plan to use them together in parallel, with two inlets to our house, this is possible because our house happens to split the power in right away into a “lower” and “upper” panel.
I had planned to use the 50A AND 30A outlets at once, as I understand only one generator outlets can be used when in parallel correct? But I noticed you split the 50A outlet in this test, can you elaborate a little more on that? In theory you should only have been able to pull 12kW like that, right? Or am I missing something?
Bottomline my two questions are: A) Can I use both the 30A and 50A at once when paralleled to get around the 14kw as you showed here? B) Could I use the two 50A outlets from the two generators at once, I think no?

Three completely different generators in my opinion, the two 7250 it’s going to sound differently than two 9000 or 10,000 paralleled.
The V-twin engine on the Duromax will handle the power a lot better but I do understand redundancy it’s just not what I’m thinking about when my generator is running, properly maintaining the engine and you’ll be fine.
I don't quite get this. Is paralleling in this case combining the power? Or just synching the phases? I would expect that you'd plug a 50amp cord from each generator into a device, then there would be one output (maybe a 60 amp plug).
It’s combining the power, and since the genmax has a 50amp plug you don’t need a parallel kit just the parallel cables. Now instead of 7600W you can now power 12,500W

Thank you for your videos Gavin. I would like to see you run your house on these generators in parallel since this is what I want to do. My house is natural gas, specifically the dryer, central heating, the water heater and kitchen stove and oven are all natural gas. I have a 4 ton Trane manufactured in 2017 with an LRA of 124 and an RLA of 18.5 and a micro air soft start on the way. Do you think I would be able to run my house on 1 of these 9000 watt generators or would I need to purchase 2 and run them in parallel like you just did? I also have a pool but am not sure how many watts it pulls yet. Do you know if there is a natural gas conversion kit for these generators? I believe that the volume of natural gas I have for the pool heater may be enough to run these generators. This would be a great alternative to the $13,000 to $15,000 cost of a generic home back up system. Thanks again for the info.

I found your videos when researching the duramax 9000ih. Best most thorough reviews of any product I have read or watched. If your requirement was 12000 watts would it be best for a fuel consumption standpoint to have two running parallel or one 12000 watt generator?
The problem is, I haven’t found a generator that you can buy with 12,000 W that has a true eco-mode so you could save some fuel. I’m pretty sure you looked at the Westinghouse 12,000 W dual fuel. It all depends on if you have the space to store two 9000w generators

Nice test. Maybe try to push one generator to 6500 or so and let it run for a hour or so with a heavy load. This will put the inverter module through its paces. I think this would be real world for whole house backup power needs. The motor is making the power on LP gas to meet the 7600 max. That is good to know. What elevation are you at? I am 250’ above sea level so engine power won’t suffer from altitude. Hurricanes are the reason for backup power for me. They happen in the late summer months when it is hot out, 90+ deg. Putting a 6000-6500w load in the summer heat will show what it is capable of. Thanks for the very good videos.

hey I just bought the 9000ie and the exhaust is all the way at the bottom, but on genmax website it shows its on top and I need it on top, and all the reviews for the 9000ied show it on top but nobody shows the back exhaust on the 9000ie.
Ok so I understand the 100+ amps that was recorded was accomplished by paralleling the 2 generators and the 100+ amps was passed through the 50 amp outlet on the primary generator? Is a surge protector link like the one used required or are there other types. Very cool and could be what looking for if I can have the 100 amps available over the course of 24 hours per week.
At 120 V so that’s 50 amps per leg which is 50 amps at 240 V
So each leg is handling 50 A which is perfectly normal at 120 V
Hey Gavin, I love the channel and find it very informative. I am a little confused by this video though and hope you can help me understand. It seems as thought the generators aren't putting out the full rated capacity. On Gasoline they are rated at 9000 watts starting and 7600 running, and propane it is rated 8550 watts starting and 7200 running. When you did the first test with the heater on propane it ran fine at 7200 watts which is what I expected since the running watts on propane is 7200, then you added the light and it went to 7600 and it tripped. That makes sense on propane.
Then you did the test on gasoline and once you added the light it went to 7600 again but it tripped after a few seconds. That was unexpected since it is rated for 7600 on gas. Then when you paralleled them together both were running on gasoline and you only got 14,397 watts before they tripped, I would have expected 15,200 watts. What am I missing?

Even though it’s rated for 15,200 W running when paralleled you can only really pull 12,500W on a 50 amp Inlet box
With that said, when you’re parallel you do lose some power in line loss. That is why I do this test so we can get real world numbers anyways I appreciate your question I hope this helps and thanks for watching
7600W rated on gasoline is a marketing number and also an ideal max rating. A load could be 7601W and if it goes for more than 5 seconds, it will trip out the inverter into overload protection. I think it's fair to say that even a "7.5kW" load reading should basically be considered 100% rated capacity, especially since a 7.5kW reading on the display could be as high as 7499W accounting for rounding error.
This is one of the downsides with inverter generators; they are less tolerant of overloads than alternator generators.

Good video. I feel like they didn’t live up to the 7600 rating on gasoline. Overload light was on and tripped it pretty quick. Shouldn’t they be able to run at the stated rating of 7600?

I agree. These are not 9kw gens they are barely 7.5 kw capable. That said, they are pretty nice gensets. The fact that they are made in china are a problem for me however. It remains to be seen now reliable they are as well.

Have you seen a problem with the fuel selector spinning all the way around? I just ran mine for the first hour but when I tried to start up the second time it won't run.
The plastic selector switch has to be replaced. I already informed Genmax about this issue. Contact them they will help you out

I'm looking to upgrade my whole home setup to an inverter style with propane as an alternative fuel. I like the idea that you can mix and match the 7250 and 9000 in parallel.
My big question is, can you have the parallel cable plugged into both and just run one generator?
Main reason is to leverage the smaller, quieter and more efficient generator at night where I just need 300-600 watts (always on load and TV's) with the A/C on for an hour or so once or twice (2500-2700watts). Then fire up the bigger second generator when I know i'll need more demand (cooking, washer/dryer, more lights, etc).
A follow up to that, if the 7250 is the primary with the 50amp plug, can it be "on" but not running, and receive power from the 9000? Running the bigger generator with more head room durning the day and adding the little one for capacity.
Another reason for this question is to leverage the remote start and not training family members on how to re-cable things if I'm not around.
Having the ability to mix and match which one is running, I could add some automation. Watching a near real time monitory like Sense, I could add automations that would trigger the second generator based on average home usage or something. :)
Yes, you can have the parallel cable plugged into both generators and run one at a time then you can remote start from the inside the second generator they will phase together and work just fine

I ordered the Genmax parallel kit. It came with all male connectors that will not plug into my generators because they too are all male. I cannot locate any adapters anywhere. The temperature here hit 114 Fahrenheit. I need both generators to run two roof air conditioners. As soon as possible.
Do you think a person can modify or change the males out using 10 gauge automotive female bullet plugs?
The Genmax wires are not heavy gauge, but they look strange in that the male connectors look “plastic-like” . Red colored conductor plugs.

Thank you for “seeing” my dilemma. It is a conundrum. I have two 3500 dual fuel generators. The parallel ports are MALE. Are the parallel ports on your gensets also male?
I hoped to parallel the 3500’s and plug my 50 amp cord into the Genmax parallel kit.
The manufacturer says they are out of the adapters. I would make the them IF someone on this planet could send me the pieces.
Most images of parallel harnesses do not reveal if male or female plugs reside inside the protective sheath.
The male ports on the generator seem to be proprietary. What in the world does the female end of a harness look like?

Hi I'm a new subscriber and you seem to know a lot about Generators I've had a Honda 6,500 for the last 12 years I put it through allot in the last 7 years I own a Food trailer So we're constantly using it 5 to 6 days a week 12 to 14 hours a day and I know it's lost some power but it's lasted this long I really wanted the new version the 7000IU honda generator But living in California they no longer sell it Or ship it over here I would have to go out of state And from what I see they're all on back order so I would be lucky to get just wondering what Generator would you prefer if I can't get the Honda

I wanted to make sure I mentioned this, The way Duramax has this wired with no neutral and only using the ground wire Will still give you 120 and 240v but its not being implemented correctly, they're sending all of the current back down the ground wire. For this to be safe and correct there really needs to be a neutral. Period. The Honda eu7000is parallel kit is doing this the correct way.
I follow a lot of your videos. I have switched my preference to this Genmax over the Duromax, only becuse it has the 50 amp outlet. If Duromax 9000 made one with 50 amp outlet I would stick with themsince they automatically choose 240/120. Maybe Duromax will upgrade soon with a 50 amp outlet.
I just hate having to convert the bond to floating...I assume that would void the warranty?
My only hope is that Generlink will make a transfer switch with a 50 amp outlet sometime soon.

The display changes from 120v to 240v every 10 seconds

Great Video. I was just curious. The Duromax XP9000iH generators use only 3 wires per generator ( No Dedicated Neutral) to the Xp900iH-PK Parallel Box. After checking the schematic of the generators it looks like the ground and the neutral are wired together. I guess this is Ok ? Also, This is from the Duramax Xp900iH-PK site.

Answer. The XP9000iH will have a bonded neutral and ground wire; and if your hooking the generator up to your home you'll want to use a 3 pole transfer switch that will transfer the neutral wire. Interesting
Yeah, -the ground and neutral share the same wire in the parallel kit for the Duromax.- If you want to DIY unbond the neutral on the Duromaxes (it's easy), then you have to account for needing to add a neutral wire to the parallel kit, -and somehow also unbond the neutral in the factory parallel kit plug.- Maybe you'd be better off just making a DIY custom parallel kit in that case.
[Edit: I have since learned that the Duromax kit is 240V only, and there is no neutral whatsoever.]

It only gets complicated if you start modifying the generators by removing the neutral bond. Then you need to be aware that the parallel kit isn't going to be okay without modification also. [Edit, as long as you're aware that the Duromax kit is 240V only, not 240/120V.]

Sad to say my Genmax 9000 IEDC wont do an electric start or pull start at 10 hours in the clock. GENMAX US service is telling me I need to pay for the repair due to improper maintenance. Maintenance was performed per manual including removing gas and draining the carb.
What was the main problem? Did you ever check it out?
Doesn’t seem to be available in California. Amazon shows it but says unavailable to your address. Several other distributors seem to omit CA. . I’m thinking not CARB approved, and frankly I don’t blame them for not going through the hoops and expense.

Check your digitial display for errors in showing the "total run time hours". Genmax will send you a replacement display which is very easy to swap out.

Garvin I really didn't see the purpose of this video because you paralleled two genmax together but when you hit 14,200 it was overloaded and triggered off when to me it should of stayed running since each genmax can sustain 7200 watts continuously together that would be 14,400 continuous watts

I'm curious how they are dismissing the problem of having the neutral and ground bonded on both generators. I don't think it's a major safety issue, but it is technically against the rules.

This is similar to a question I have: I own the Gm9000 dual fuel and want to hoook up to home via a transfer switch. The manual states not to remove bonded neutral. But here I am reading you should remove bonded neutral even if using 50A outlet to transfer switch. Color me confused

According to a lot of folks the DuroMax XP9000iH and the XP9000iH-pk cant output 120v on 2 legs from the 50amp plug since the neutral is missing. An example of a generator thats wired correctly is the Honda eu7000is, (SOME of the predator 9500s even some of these are missing the neutral on the front panel.) and the new Genmax. The way the DuroMax is wired its only be able to safely produce 240v, not 120/240.
Could you check out this post I started about using the xp9000iH with there xp9000iH-pk parallel box with no neutral connection. Seems odd DuroMax would do this.

This unit is one of my most recommended and it’s actually the one I kept for myself. I love the fact that it has an oil filter/screen it’s forced oil lube and force air cooled.
It has a 50 amp plug so you don’t need a parallel kit power monitor co monitor with rear exhaust.
It’s actually 7 db quieter than the other ones with same power

Since you combine both generators you have a total amperage of 63.3 A the generator already has a 50 amp plug so you’re just crossing over 2 live, neutral and ground it’s four wires
