Wow. Have watched every single clip I can find on this camera while trying to decide whether to purchase and I can safely say that outside of just one or two of the technical specs videos, this one is all I would've needed. Thank you for all your time and effort in putting this together!
I also have watched every single clip I can find on this camera and I am also not buying it. Though I simply cant afford it at all, lol. And I also dont even know how to shoot.
@@naneri haha! Well I’m actually leaning the other way but I also film stuff professionally - but it’s amazing how some technology is just so interesting that people want to know more!
Not gonna lie. This channel and Caleb's channel (DSLR video shooter) are the only sources that make cameras exciting now. The tests, possibilities being explored, ideas for improving and updating; you guys really show off new filmmaking tech. Other channels feel like cut and paste announcements and honestly, it's getting annoying when I get 10 notifications from 10 TH-camrs about the same camera and all saying the same thing or showing up in each others' videos. Thanks for truly standing out.
I really admire how you emphasize the importance of the tools making more production goals possible for smaller crews with tighter budgets. Your cable work is very inspiring, I would love to have you work on a project or two here in the USA so I could see you in action on a narrative film or sports documentary. I think your approach would add positive value to a production.
You know the mark of a professional when you see that crew member caring for the preservation of the equipment on set - ie : Covering the entire rig & Cam with a sleeve in bad weather for a car shoot segment. So, so many YT channels I’ve seen go onto salt lakes, rain @ night, dirt roads, snow .. .you name it all rigged to the vehicle & NO cover, stones, debris on the road - all these things can hit the camera & lens & cause damage to gear. I see it all the time & yours is the first instance where I’ve seen someone actually cover the entire rig. 💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💪🏼💪🏼🎥🎥 Professional 💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻
Wow .. seriously, I’ve seen almost all the Ronin 4 D breakdown from the TH-cam big shots, to help my debate on getting this, and seriously, your breakdown is hands down the best and most thorough. It definitely helped me make my conclusion. In return, I subscribed. Thank you
Sorry if im repeating any previous comments.... Tilta have just released a tactical top handle for this with multiple mounting options. This will allow you to mount things like the easyrig eye screw and Tilta hydra kit etc. They have also released a swivel universal baseplate to attach to the Tilta Float arm.
absolutely great video! And the shots you took along with the locations are perfect for what you were trying to explain. Really glad i have found your channel.
Incredbile overview of the 4d system. Worth every minute of my time. I appreciate you for doing this and I have subscribed and will continue to watch what comes next.
With the big lens it looks kinda silly but you've actually shown me it's feasible to use this as intended but so much more. Phillip Blooms video was great but this video shows its more capable than I first thought! Great video 👍🏾👍🏾
I'm not willing to buy Ronin 4D or can afford it ;). Already seen reviews you recommended, but yours is on a different level, cause it shows practical use of this camera. You should have already 2.25m subscribers ... the best review of this camera. I cannot imagine better one.
Really liked this video. The D4 is my first cinema grade camera and Ive been shocked at how easy it is to use. I have a s5ii and with these two I feel I have so many options. Looking forward to more videos.
I have used the Ronin 4D now for a couple of shoots. It is a brilliant system, especially with the flex tool. There are some drawbacks concerning certain issues with frame rate vs. specs and monitoring modes, but overall it is the way of the future. I am looking forward to an improved updated version in the near future hopefully. As far as I hear from my rentals, the thing takes up momentum and gets hired more and more. Once DPs of features have realized, that they can save a hell of a lot of time and money and get much more flexibiltiy, I guess ARRI and RED will be history.
It's a very unique system. And I am sure that just by offering a product, DJI will force your favourite camera manufacturer to put out a competing product, so it's a win-win. But I also feel that a lot of people who probably don't need the features will buy it, not have a reference to compare against, and then feel disappointed with DJI.
one point, to use a big lens on this system, you need to get the "flex" kit, to split the gimble and the brain, so you can mount just the gimble to the lens, and use it that way, makes mounting the big lens easy, esp. for Steadicam use, as the brain can act as a battery mount to counterweight the system.
finally i got my Ronin 4D based on your video thank you kindly, now for the most important question ? which cine LENS to buy now , i got the an EF and E sony adapters just in case , however ever i could not make out the lens you used in your kit. i like a few lenses but i not certain about the payload . can you point in to a link where you have the lenses you used on the your Ronin4d or perhaps tell me the maximum payload DJI says 1.1 - 1.72 lbs on the SIRUI anamorphic , please advise im really in a sump
I'm watching this video and I see that you bought the Thanos Pro X rig for your set up. Awesome! I just got my Thanos Pro X and I also noticed you put a glidecam head on the bottom to counter balance it easier like on your DIY version. My Crane 3s rolls to the side when I let go so this would actually solve that!
Thank you I really appreciate the video I know this video is old but could you please list the products you used like then size and name of the bottom plate, length of the rods and all the parts to use to hold longer lenses. I have a few shoots over the week and would like to use a similar setup thanks
thank you for this video, can you tell me which adapter you used for the pictor zoom because, I have 2 and none communicates the information to the ronin (ef / e mount) thank you.😉
Hi Adam! I just got the Ronin 4D and I have the Leica R 50mm that is EF converted, and I have the k&f concept EOS EF-E converter, but it doesn’t seem to fit on the E mount for the Ronin 4D… which converter are you using for your LEICA R lenses? Thank you so much in advance!
DJI should now focus on making the same focus breathing compensation software than sony and creating some fake virtual bokeh to enhance the high aperture of their own tiny lenses for the ronin 4d that are very practical but suffer from lack of background depth blur.
Hi Sir! I am a student from Dubai! I wanted to know the name of the Vertical adjustment you used for the lens bracket support for DZO lenses! There are really long and I am not able to find one in the marketplace! Could you please specify the vertical adjustment used along with the lens bracket support for the DZO Pictor lenses? Thank you for your time, sir!
Hey Adam, Thanks for all of the insight. I'm loving my 4D, and as I look to get more dynamic shots I'm realizing that it's the perfect camera for, like you said, pushing the limits. When it comes to the handle, what nato rail clamps do you use? The two square ones that are graphite colored. I can't seem to find them anywhere. Thanks again!
amazing work, thank you! i am getting the Tilta arm but I wonder how my hips will effect the movement...and maybe for that an easy rig is better? also for an easy rig the weight it probably to front heavy no? any idea how to deal with that? best, rapha

@@BestboyAdam what is the silver rod price inbetween the lense and lense support?

Exactly. This is why I never rent out my gear.

Hi, great video. Would you be able to share where you got your long lens support from? Thanks for your time. Glenn
I think you can now include your video in the echelon with Caleb and Phillip.

Best video overall on the DJI Ronin 4D.
The shots at the stadium are mind blowing.

Thank you for this video. After many DJI 4D videos this has been such a refreshing and interesting video. Thank you!
DJI should've sponsored this video, this was awesome!
Unbelievable value and quality! The Footage at 14:20 is just incredible btw. Subbed and can't wait for more videos from you!

Beautifully designed camera, to operate this I have to go to school to operate it. Keep up the good work.
Adam, you have some of the best film/video production related videos on TH-cam.
So many possibilities, DJI should hire you to shoot an advert with this cam. Great work!
Love the little dolly car! I guess you can be very innovative with this camera! I want one! As well as the tilta float! Thanks, man, for all the info!
yes yes perfect summary from professional pov, i agree wholly. it should be go to broadcast/low to mid budget doc camera from now on...
exactly Patrick
Fantastic video! Thank you! You answered the question on who this camera is for!
Good to see you back Adam! Those adorable kids of yours are growing up fast! Also, 8:46 - you are slowly becoming Batman haha
