I really admire how you emphasize the importance of the tools making more production goals possible for smaller crews with tighter budgets. Your cable work is very inspiring, I would love to have you work on a project or two here in the USA so I could see you in action on a narrative film or sports documentary. I think your approach would add positive value to a production.

Wow. Have watched every single clip I can find on this camera while trying to decide whether to purchase and I can safely say that outside of just one or two of the technical specs videos, this one is all I would've needed. Thank you for all your time and effort in putting this together!

Not gonna lie. This channel and Caleb's channel (DSLR video shooter) are the only sources that make cameras exciting now. The tests, possibilities being explored, ideas for improving and updating; you guys really show off new filmmaking tech. Other channels feel like cut and paste announcements and honestly, it's getting annoying when I get 10 notifications from 10 TH-camrs about the same camera and all saying the same thing or showing up in each others' videos. Thanks for truly standing out.

You know the mark of a professional when you see that crew member caring for the preservation of the equipment on set - ie : Covering the entire rig & Cam with a sleeve in bad weather for a car shoot segment. So, so many YT channels I’ve seen go onto salt lakes, rain @ night, dirt roads, snow .. .you name it all rigged to the vehicle & NO cover, stones, debris on the road - all these things can hit the camera & lens & cause damage to gear. I see it all the time & yours is the first instance where I’ve seen someone actually cover the entire rig. 💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💪🏼💪🏼🎥🎥 Professional 💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻

Hi Adam, I really love your content. Great reviews and appreciate all the videos you have made so far.
I have a quick question about the Ronin 4D and a particular lens.
Any chance you have a Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 laying around you could mount to your Ronin 4D.
The lens is listed as a compatible lens. but I'm not sure how a APS-C lens would perform on the Ronin 4D's full frame sensor. Does the E Mount to DL mount adapter change the lens to a full frame without vignetting?
    Thank you!

I have used the Ronin 4D now for a couple of shoots. It is a brilliant system, especially with the flex tool. There are some drawbacks concerning certain issues with frame rate vs. specs and monitoring modes, but overall it is the way of the future. I am looking forward to an improved updated version in the near future hopefully. As far as I hear from my rentals, the thing takes up momentum and gets hired more and more. Once DPs of features have realized, that they can save a hell of a lot of time and money and get much more flexibiltiy, I guess ARRI and RED will be history.

Hello sir. Like many other I would like to thank you for the time, effort and professionalism you put in these videos. I make it mandatory for all the ACs and grip I work with to watch your channel :) Great solutions when you want to pull big shots with a somewhat limited budget. Regarding the 4d I have a question : I’m using as well a set of LeicaR lenses for all of my gimbal work and was wondering if, according to your experience, and after more use, you can confirm that most of those lenses did balance and behave perfectly on the 4d ? Did you have to use any counter weight ? My set consist of a 19mm V2, 24mm, 28 V2, 35/50/80 summilux… I would hate to have to buy new lenses let alone find a kit that cover that range with modern lenses. Thank you to take the time to answer. Cheers. Nicos.

It's a very unique system. And I am sure that just by offering a product, DJI will force your favourite camera manufacturer to put out a competing product, so it's a win-win. But I also feel that a lot of people who probably don't need the features will buy it, not have a reference to compare against, and then feel disappointed with DJI.

one point, to use a big lens on this system, you need to get the "flex" kit, to split the gimble and the brain, so you can mount just the gimble to the lens, and use it that way, makes mounting the big lens easy, esp. for Steadicam use, as the brain can act as a battery mount to counterweight the system.

*Great shots. Thank you for this review. I think I want one of these, but I will wait for the 8K version to be available. I would also hope there will be more 3rd party accessories available for the Ronin 4D in time. I would like to see an option for higher capacity batteries, or a V mount adaptor plate to use Anton Bauer batts. I am also concerned about using the built in audio on the Ronin for one man doco run and gun situations. I understand a future rear adaptor plate is coming which allows for ballanced XLR audio inputs to be used (??) I would welcome this. I wonder if DJI will make any future modifications to the 4th axis support arm and gymbal assembly to allow for heavier PL mount cine lenses to be used ? It looks like a real wonder contraption to me. 👀👀👀. I would like see more codecs added to the 4D, such as HEVC H.265 in 10 and 12 bit encoding, and maybe even BRAW, but we're losing Prores RAW ? This is too bad if true. ProRes RAW makes post workflow an easier option for higher end Cinema shoots, as will the option for 8K.*

Really happy to see the DZO pictor on their mounted to the 4D! 🤗 I have that lens and the Sirui M43 50mm f1.8
It almost becomes a bit too heavy for handheld when you chuck on zoom cine primes. I think DJI 4D works better for prime lenses to make the centre of gravity far easier to handle when holding it with both hands close to your chest, than have a 1.5KG zoom prime that makes it front end heavy.
Thankyou for the great advice, and I will most likely stick with my Steadicam rig for now, but this is definitely looks better that using the Ronin 2, due to it's portability and size factor.
