    I remember the day that DJI started making their own cameras for the Phantom drone, my initial thought was 'How can a drone company be any good at making cameras?' How far they have come!

    • @stephenzhao9773

      And that's because GoPro refused to provide their cameras to DJI.

The flexibility, the integration, interface, even the price looks sharp if you compare to flagship cameras mirrorless like A1, R3, Z9. And you can use your Sony lenses on your mirrorless still! The 4D Z axis stabilization is the winning touch here, that combined with the rest of the package which helps it keep simple and minimal effort, I can see a lot of people loving it and happy to be using it. I’d love to play with it, looks so fun. I’m sure the low light is good enough at 5k iso, I’d leave it at 5K for an even noise profile, the ND filter haptic feedback is awesome! I’m glad this was invented. I can already see how practical this is and a lot of people are gonna enjoy creating simply beautiful clips of videos with it. Awesome!

    $7200 FYI. The remote operation and lidar tracking built in is the biggest appeal. But it looks like you're always be forced to have the gimbal look with this guy...when the gimbal is locked I see a TON of shaking happening, so don't think the popular hand-held or even easy rig look will be possible. Love that DJI is innovating.

    This is the absolute perfect one-man-band camera system for freelancers and small video production companies who do lots of run and gun social media work maybe even up to commercial work, and even for all low budget short films too! Unfortunately for us, we wouldn't be able to use it as it doesn't have the necessary professional aspects required for our work in broadcast and TV etc. such SDI Connections, Timecode, XLR inputs etc. But we would still love to play around with this one day and any innovative camera like this is only a good thing! Honestly not many. This is killer when you need distance and remote control of the camera (I'm thinking wildlife or in dangerous environments, motorsports, et) but other than that it's just a gimbal with a camera built in. And honestly I see it being too much of a pain in the ass for run-n-gun - i.e. you're always having to rebalance for every lens swap. Can you go from a nice gimbal shot to a tripod w/ 70-200 without having to dick around with the gimbal? Doubtful. At it's price point most already have and can afford a dedicated gimbal camera anyway. This seems like a great specialty product, but not a general one.

    Wow, while I had seen images of this circulating around over the past month or so this is FAR more exciting than I was expecting. The big question now is what price will this be? My biggest concerns are how it's almost 100% proprietary everything, which means even the simplest part is likely going to be price gouged. While I really think this has a lot of potential, and will likely result in similar products. The biggest hesitation is that DJI does abandon their old tech, which also means the this is likely to have a shorter overall life due to those two factors. Still it's great to see innovative stuff like this.

    • @hopkinsfilms8028

    • @billyoung9538
      @billyoung9538 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hopkinsfilms8028 for what's included that seems like a pretty good price, but the more I think about it the more questions I think need answers before I would want to invest that kind of money. Like how much are the batteries, and what's their run time? How do different lenses react speed wise when pulling focus? How heavy a lens can the gimbal balance? Clearly lens options are going to be far more limited than with a traditional cinema camera, and that could be a limiting factor as well. I want more info! ;)

    $7200 for the 6k version seems pretty expensive. I was thinking it would be closer to $6000. Thoughts?
    Edit: after reading some of y'alls comments and getting passed my morning brain, I agree, I do think it's priced pretty competitively. I think the biggest downside is lens options. But for certain projects and scenarios, I think this is a beast of a camera setup. Especially with all the wireless options.

    • @dudepersonvids
      @dudepersonvids 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Well, he said it would be priced "competitively" and it has some unique selling features that take it beyond most comparable camera systems in the $6K range. I was going to guess $8K.

    • @BransenPass
      @BransenPass 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      It’s a camera that shoots pro res raw internally and full frame with a built in 4 axis stabilizer. 7,200 is cheap for a setup like that. An fx3 is 4500 or somewhere around there. Then you add a gimbal and you are easily close to 6000 but those gimbals also don’t have 4th axis you add an extra arm to get the 4th axis and those run for about 1000 so now we are at 7000. Then you include all the extra features it has like the wheels on the handles and built in nd and you’ve got yourself a pretty expensive setup. I think this is priced fairly cheap for what it is.

      @eniscc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2
