    This is what you call innovation. An extremely tight slap on every major camera brands face. Also, the price of $7200 is absolutely mind blowing for what they are providing here.

    I love how on paper and prior to release, this probably would have been laughed at...But DJI executed a dream and once put into the hands of creators it put its money where its mouth's at... It took what was seemingly a large array of issues between many different brands/models and said, "here, we will listen and give it to you all right now. We don't care if this phases out other models, we are creating one in the process." This is the standard. This is why DJI is one of the more elite companies out there. It listens to the creator (whom usually have crazy demands,) and says, "Okay, you want crazy?! We got you." Thanks for continuously innovating DJI.

    So cool to see a company coming up with such a unique, innovative camera like this. I wish more companies were bold enough to actually try new things and fix problems that filmmakers deal with every day rather than just iterating the same old design over and over again. The limited lens support is unfortunate though and I think that will be a big factor in killing this system. Even if they have multiple lens mounts, the fact that you can only use tiny lenses on a cinema camera is going to turn a lot of people away. I think they needed to figure out a way of maybe detaching the gimbal portion and mounting the sensor directly to the body when you want a true handheld look and/or want to use bigger lenses. While the tech and design is impressive, it’s the usability issues that will make the camera too niche for people to risk buying IMO. Hopefully I’m wrong, though!

      @@830Video right on. It makes sense. Many times specific shots call for motivated camera movements. I’m curious though, you say you don’t use a gimbal but you mention that you use a steadi/glidecam which is in fact a gimbal. Are you just not interested in the look a motorized gimbal offers? Not something I usually look at since I prefer looking at drones, but this camera system shows promise. Such a shame DJI dropped the ball with their gimbal strength again. DJI's gimbals may be some of the best out there, but they don't hold as much weight as some of their competitors do. You'd think they would make a more robust gimbal to match the intended market's demands at this point. If this thing could handle bulkier lenses it would be golden.

    I made my own "4th axis"...
    Took the DJI OM5 smartphone gimbal, mounted a lead weight with a strip directly at the end of the fully extended telescope rod, pretty long with the additional tripod folded and held it horizontally. The Weight at the end of the gimbal additionally to the smartphones/gimbals weight make it to a pretty decent, "passive" stabilisation of the 4th axis, especially while running, not so well with walking but still better than the typical usage of this small gimbal.
    As much i like DJIs try to make a nice, professional camera on a gimbal base and how modular it is, its still pretty much like the apple enviroment - They dont like 3rd party, and so you dont get much cheaper 3rd party stuff. Thankfully at least we can use our lenses with Canon EF, Nikon mount etc and dont have to rely on "DJI lenses".
    I would love if we would not need a hardware solution for focusing and could use instead the internal AF motors, especially since nowadays AF motors are anyways awesome (or also the "older generation" USM from Canon and so). At least i see connectors, so there is still a small chance that DJI will some day support the AF directly on the lenses.

    • @truthseeker6804
      @truthseeker6804 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think its illegal for them to use the lens AF system of another company, because theyre basically getting into the lens software. also the 4th axis you made, seems like its gonna break the metalic extended part of the om5.

    It's not for me, but it is a creative new innovation. And that is what matters. It doesn't even matter if not many people find this a useful piece of gear. The thing that actually matters is the fact that DJI is creating something new. That is what we need. Innovation by companies like DJI is what will eventually help us creators get our work to the next level - even though obviously gear isn't the number one factor with our work. But, new innovative tech gives us creators new ways to create. Can't wait to see where this kind of tech goes

    Man, all girls in the video are beautiful. This shows you that God exists and Parker has the most excellent power of choice on TH-cam.
