- An episode of the fly on the wall documentary 'Hotel'. Taken from a VHS tape originally recorded when shown in 1997. I missed the start by about 5 minutes.
This documentary features all the comings and goings of the Britannia Hotel Adelphi in Liverpool. In this episode there's drunk students and partygoers galore, Eileen being the usual tyrant, Sharon being authoritave on the phone when staff haven't turned up, plenty of banter amongst the two porters, Chef being his usual self! (Language galore!!), and it's Christine's last day before she leaves to have her baby!!
PLEASE NOTE: I only have two episodes of this series, this one, and the one after (which is previewed before the closing credits, and has already been uploaded by someone else - sorry!).

The Staff there are so rude!!
I used to work there on the bar and as a porter about 20 years ago the management and receptionists there were horrible

They should gv the veg a piece of paper the right that are one a vegetarian then they wd know who was one and how many
I would sack the luggage porter for breaching guest confidentiality. Disclosing the guests origin and accepting invitations to their homes is a NO NO. I have worked in the 5* London hotel industry for over 20 years and received several invitations but declined. I hope The Adelphi has improved it's standards since this documentary was published in 1997.

Think of the most offensive crazy bastards in the world and they will most likely be chefs. Chefs work harder than you can imagine. Many of them reach an early grave because they also play hard on top of the work.

Pretty standard for a hotel chef from my experience in the industry (waiter) about the same time this was filmed, can’t imagine it’s changed much. The dining room is calm, serene and runs with panache but the in kitchen the plates are flying and so are the expletives!

Hu Dean. I'm from liverpool, I agree with that Hotel, but you shouldnt class all liverpolitans the same mate. Most are warm a friendly like me. And Liverpool now has changed, . Theres now poss another 20 new hotels run better they at the Adelphi, were putting it on a bit. The chef Is not from liverpool. But yes some are like that but most not. Take care mate
