It’s really great to see Phil getting to perform these songs without having to labor under any of the personal demons he carried with him during Pantera’s original run. No heroin, no intoxication. He’s truly happy. It’s a really good thing to see
I have seen the original line up for Pantera, I have seen BLS. I have see SJR. I have met Phil. I'm personally glad they all have come together to do this for the future Metalheads. I met Zakk Wylde awesome dude. I hope there is a album in the future. Cowboy from hell forever.
Honestly a smart choice to tune down in order to accommodate Phil’s vocal range, as it’s not as high as it used to be. Really helped him nail his iconic raspiness.
Charlie is CHANNELING Vince, Phil sounds better than he has in a decade, the Planet Caravan/Abbot tribute his voice sounds like 1995, and while Zakk does Zakkify some of Dime’s solos, I’m all about it, it sounds great stoked to see these songs live again and can’t wait to see it for myself in person
Why wouldn't you expect Zak to keep his own personality, sound, style? It would suck if he or anyone just mimicked Dime's sound...then its a cover or tribute band which would suck for Phil and Rex.
Dime basically improvised every solo he played live anyways, they always sounded different than the records. This is great! I wish I could afford one of the US shows.
RIP Vinnie and Dimebag. Good seeing Phil and Rex do this and big thanks to Charlie and Zakk for filling in for our gone but not forgotten brothers. \m/
Actually the entire tour is nothing more then a giant 🖕🖕 to Vinnie and Dime. But it’s nice to see everyone drinking the kool aid like this whole thing didn’t come about because the only obstacle who happened to start the band passed on. To each there own. Go and enjoy the show folks but that is straight up the way it went down.
I grew up with Anthrax and Charlie has always been one of my favorite drummers. Considering all the turmoil that once plagued the original Pantera crew, it's real nice that this was put together and is making a lot of people happy. Pantera made some of the best metal music ever created...PERIOD. RIP Dimebag and Vinnie.
You guys are obviously NOT drummers. Charl b is straight and clean but he has no feel or real groove. You people have to Practice more or get lessons from a groove drummer

This brings a tear to my eye. Zakk and Charlie absolutely crushing it. Beautiful moment in music history. Glad I can finally see my favorite band for the first time ever.
Don`t wanna rain your parade mate, but this ain`t Pantera. You`re watching half of your favorite band, without the most important half, and the sound is complete crap too !!!!!!!
This is so awesome for the people that never got to see Pantera. I saw them im 94 and 01. Nobody could ever have imagine what transpired. But...Zakk and Dime were best buddies. Same with Vince and Charlie. There is absolutely nobody else could have done this. This is for the pups who never got to see them. It makes me so happy. That music is my life. They nail almost everything. I'm so happy for them. Pantera forever..🤘
Saw Damage Plan in 2004, they've played 2 Pantera songs and the whole crowd went nut. I think it was Cowboys from hell and walk. Never saw Pantera themselves through. We were in high school when the 101 proof's released, and only the cannabis friend club was into it. Others were on paparoach, green day, or some typical hard rock student music.
Pantera alone carried the flag of Thrash Metal through the 90’s after Metallica, Megadeth, & others slowed down. They showed that metal may have been down, but it wasn’t out, by a long way.🤘🏻
Phil's voice has recovered quite a bit. Zakk and Charlie are killing it here. They were both a good choice. I think fans are gonna get their money's worth on this tour.
Charlie is almost indisputable in his reverence for Vinnie. Zakk gets to pay tribute to his best friend, amazing. Phil’s dedication to getting himself right in order to pay tribute to his brothers and his band is legendary.
I love how Zakk threw a little Rhoads into that solo. Rhoads was a big influence on Dime. Great job. What a awesome experience, especially for the younger people that never got to see PanterA in the days where they were kings. Was truly a great thing.
@machenss3761 I agree. Uli Roth was doing the neoclassical before him, but Rhoads really stepped it up so it sounded like classical music which blends so perfectly with metal.

Back during their prime, i was never the biggest Pantera guy. I was more diehard like Megadeth and King Diamond at the time. I still appreciated them and saw them live a couple times and had several albums. But to see this today is pretty badass. Definitely missed Pantera more than i realized. This is a perfect tribute to the legendary fallen brothers.
I saw them back then in '91 or '92, opening for Megadeth and they totally blew me away. After Pantera Megadeth was kinda boring, ngl... Next day I went and bought the "Vulgar Display" album and played it until the tape broke. Good times. 🤘
Pantera is literally still heavy even for today‘s standards in the modern metalcore scene. And I can’t think of many breakdowns that hit as hard as Domination.
It is so emotional to see them, and it is also very nice to see Zakk so emotionally involved, and so concentrated. Dimebag and Vinnie are still alive in our hearts, and their immense art will never die!
I think Zakk is the right guy to work with Phil. Zakk will keep Phil in the right mindset. I’m a huge Pantera fan and I love that the group is playing live for fans again. I will always miss Dime and Vin tho 😢
As a drummer I’ve been a Vinnie Paul fan for a long time. When Hellyeah put their first album out it was just starting to get a little airtime and they were going to play at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. I went up to the venue in the afternoon just to walk around and check out the vendors and out walks Vinnie Paul. I was like WTF, I kept my cool and just said hey Vinnie Paul, huge fan. He walked over and talked to me like we had known each other for years. I’ll cherish that day forever, long live Vinnie Paul and Dimebag!

And it's understandable that he would've chosen not to participate, because asking him to do Pantera without his brother would've been selfish. I also know about the drama between the Abbotts, Rex and Phil. But I think, all things considered, a world in which half of Pantera is playing again, and performing some of the greatest metal ever recorded for live audiences once again, with the only guitarist it there who both knew Dime and can emulate his style, is a better than a world where people only find Pantera when some old metalhead plays it for them and says "this was the good old days brotherrr."

This is so emotional. As the riff of Cowboys from hell began, I had teary eyes. Truly only Zakk could do justice and play each note of Dimebag so perfect. A great tribute to the duo brothers. And looking forward for more from Pantera. A diehard fan forever.
He's not even playing "each note of dimebag" ... the tuning is MUCH deeper than it was on both the original record and the subsequent live albums (like 101 proof and far beyond bootleg)
That ain't Pantera! The Abbott brothers are rolling over in their graves over this travesty. That’s very nice and all but don’t push it. They are probably all having the time of their lives at their age. But don’t think for a second they would do it for free considering all the hassles and legal complications and then the inevitable Lawsuits that the musicians must deal with when forming a SuperBand together with 4 guys who are already members of 4 different other bands and so on. It’s really great to see Phil getting to perform these songs without having to labor under any of the personal demons he carried with him during Pantera’s original run. No heroin, no intoxication. He’s truly happy. It’s a really good thing to see
He is kinda still good on vocals. Nice tone
Heroin was a little later after he hurt his back. The intoxication, that was the whole band from the beginning.
Rex too man. Minus the H.

Honestly a smart choice to tune down in order to accommodate Phil’s vocal range, as it’s not as high as it used to be. Really helped him nail his iconic raspiness.

Why wouldn't you expect Zak to keep his own personality, sound, style? It would suck if he or anyone just mimicked Dime's sound...then its a cover or tribute band which would suck for Phil and Rex.
No, Charlie is most definitely not. Lol

Dime basically improvised every solo he played live anyways, they always sounded different than the records. This is great! I wish I could afford one of the US shows.

We were in high school when the 101 proof's released, and only the cannabis friend club was into it. Others were on paparoach, green day, or some typical hard rock student music.
Got to see Pantera in 1997, ozzfest'97, Dimes guitar playing was the highlight of the entire show... He shredded 🎸✔️🤙

I am going to see this with Metallica next year and I can only think what they will sould like then and how tight they will be. A huge compliment to Charlie for the tribute of his kicks. Being a drummer means that I know Vinny's parts, and so far, he is nailing it as he stated that he was going to do. My only complaint so far is the haters on Zakk. Stop already! You all knew that he can NEVER be Dime, but why would you hate his best friend that is PAYING tribute with his own personality rather than appreciate that he WAS his brother? In this river anyone? It's keeping the name alive as well as the music and NOT a new brand, there is a difference y'all. That's my opinion, I'm out.
Dude you are rich
I will be driving 5 hours only for that show
I was on the fence to get Metallica tix for next year or not. When I saw Zakk was going to be sitting in for Dimebag in a Pantera reunion, that pushed me over.
@@NoPlaceForTheDead I want to go to the 2 dates but because I never saw Metallica live. Of all the Big 4, they are the only ones I could never see live.
He's paying respect to Peter Criss as well, just like Vinnie did, with the gloves and that 3 on his back.
I am so blessed to have seen this guys 3x back in the 90’s. One of the most physical shows I’ve ever been too.
Friendly volent fun🤘kids today have no clue🤘 good times for sure. Cheers
Yep and you’d better interact or they’d call you out on it. I’d go see this live too….
I didn’t know how I’d feel about this but Zak and Charlie killed it! This is not the true “Pantera” but it is a bad ass more than worthy tribute
Exactly it's a TRIBUTE BAND. Not the actual band. They need to call it "Driven" or something like that.
In the music industry, it's common for a band to go on using the same name with as few as one original member. In fact, there's bands out there consisting of no original members at all, just brothers, sons etc carrying on the legacy.
@@docd-monik4380 I have been in the music industry. And ACTUAL MUSICIANS do not respect that. Or at least I didn't. That's why IOVED Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin ended the SECOND Bonham died.
@@coreyhall1150 I know what actual musicians do and don't respect, having been a musician myself for 30 years, during many of which I paid all of my bills and living expenses by playing in working bands. I play 6 instruments plus vocals, I've been in original bands, released full-length albums, played 6-7 nights a week, had more than one band of mine get radio play, even played at the governors mansion once....real musicians are the ones who are out there LIVING IT, and they are not out here telling other musicians they don't respect them simply for continuing to work or carrying on the legacy of a friend or bandmate. If you are going to say I'm not a real musician, I will laugh my ass off. If you will actually say Zakk and Charlie aren't real musicians, well, that's just delusional. They have already forgotten more about the life than you'll ever know.
@@docd-monik4380 Liste. I feel ya on some of that. But I am TELLING YOU. I was half joking on some of what I said. But PERSONALLY if it ain't the original line up. The ONES THAT WROTE all those songs that ppl love. I DO NOT GIVE A FLYING FUCK. And it SHOULD NOT be called that actual band name. It should be a name like the tribute bands do. It all boils down to PREFERENCE. Hey if u are cool with the knock off brands good for you home boy.
This whole performance is just stunning
It’s like a fuckin dream! I agree one million percent!🤘🏻

I hear ya there I sure hope it happens, I wish I could go, they are one of my all time favorites, the only time I had the opportunity to see them was in the early 90s at this small club in Virginia, I thought that place was gonna collapse for real, the city may have condemned the building after it was over, there was some crazy people in that place , I just kinda got in the back and started slamming beers and tried to survive, dang it sounded good

The drum skins is one of the best tribute's I've ever seen. 🤘🤘🤘
In Zakks Black Label shows, he would dedicate a song to Dime, and would drop these HUGE tapestry's of Dime over the amplifiers, and play, it was pretty cool to see. But yeah it is very cool that they did that.
At last... Both Zakk and Charlie did great job. Awesome :)
I hope this is the rebirth of 1 of the 2 best metal / thrash bands to ever exist.
Gave me chills to actually see "Pantera" perform live again.
My youth has arrived!
First off, thanks for being there and posting this for all of us to see! This was great to watch/listen to as I've been anticipating this so much the past few months! I for one don't mind Zakk intertwining his style as he and Dime were like brothers and I don't think Dime would mind at all and love the fact that Zakk is the one touring and paying tribute to him on stage! Everybody sounded great and this was just their first live show. I now have to suffer 9 more months before seeing this live when they're on tour with Metallica in NJ... My 2 favorite all time metal bands finally sharing the stage together!!!!!
Oh my, those drums. This whole thing warms the heart, thanks for posting
Love that a new generation gets to hear this legendary band, I saw the first tour in highschool, I was asked if I would go this tour... No, I like to keep my original memory's...... Never forget Dimebag Darrell, Vinnie Paul , together again 🤘🤘🤘🤘☠️
Phil even did the UGGGH at the end of CFH jus shows hes done his homework and is dedicated to giving his best
Every single member is playing their heart out, and it fantastic. Zakk is good ol Zakk, I knew he would nail it for his friend...but Phil sounds better than he has in years!
Lmao phil doesn't need to do his homework he's the original singer
Second singer
@@TheCreepyArchives he's not the original. They released 3 albums with a different singer before Phil came along

You for real? His voice sounds shit and completely shot through - almost like a whisper. This was not a good idea.
I appreciate y’all filling in. If people think they’re getting 2001 pantera, that’s on them if they get disappointed. Thank you to all these LEGENDS for doing this.
Charlie and Zakk killing it for Dime and Vinnie ...sounds fucking awesome
Rex and Phil picked their new members with good care in mind. Zakk being a huge Pantera nerd and good friend to the band, Charlie also a Pantera nerd who done collabs with Pantera previously.
Thank you for posting this. Zakk and Charlie FUCKING killed it. I was WAY doubtful on this lineup but after seeing this I see the effort by Zakk & Charlie to really show respect and love to Vinnie & Dime. Thank you.

Glad to see this comeback, and it's better than I anticipated. Phil definitely sounds better than in the previous year. Rex still kicking it. Zakk and Charlie are really the perfect fit in for Abbott's brothers. Yo, man I really jealous of you watching them live. Hope I'll be able to see them soon.

Thank you Zakk and Charlie to be part of the Pantera legacy
This is the reunion I thought would never happen. Sometimes anything can be possible.
Por fin! De nuevo PANTERA esta con nosotros. Vinnie y Dimebag siempre vivirán en nuestros recuerdos y este es sin duda un gran homenaje. Ellos estoy seguro lo aprobaron desde donde estén.
They did Dimebag Darrel Justice for using no one other then Zakk Wyald who was dimes best friend and drinking buddy. Closest person to fit dimebags shoes in the whole entire world.
He's doing an awesome job too, Zakking up the riffs and solos. This is going to get huge.
Vinnie and Dimebag would be proud of these guys , cranking guitar , outstanding drumming as used to be , thanks dudes for nailing it , Pantera once again rising like the firebird 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I don't think so phil is a traitor rest in peace abbots bross love ya
Not really. After they split and dimebag died Vinnie didnt have much nice to say about phil and had no intention on getting pantera back together.
Fkn a!
I really appreciate zakk toning down on the pinch harmonics.
Hahaha same
Didn’t think it was possible
That was Dimebag's signature man. Zakk is not there to copy Dime. He's there to trip out Zakk Wylde style on Dimebag's riffs and solos.
Was dreading to hear the condition of Phil's voice. Sounds far better than I expected. Great to hear him let rip like that again
Watching this in New Zealand, balling my eyes out.
For the brothers.
Yeap me too.. Going to start working on learning Pantera again
I've been crying to this stuff too. It really moves and gets to your soul. They were serious about this and it shows.
A Pantera concert where everyone is standing around recording it instead of unleashing hell in the pit. Amazing
I only got to see them on the Reinventing tour in ‘99, and it was still hell on earth. Ppl these days and their phones is a sad deal.
That’s what a blatant cash grab will get them.
I got pulverized in the pit at pantera, sepultura and prong in Austin Texas and it was one of those pits where if you try to get out you get pushed back in! FUCKING LOVED IT..

Im fine with the tour and am glad those who never saw them live have this option, but for me personally I'll just stick with my memories of seeing the real band, they set the bar so high I don't think id enjoy this show enough to justify taking the ticket from someone who would
He’s playing his late best friends riffs couldn’t be much more proud and so would be dime 🔥
Contrary to popular belief, Phil cares so much for his fallen brethren. I am happy to see Rex and Phil do this for the fans, those of us who saw the originals live. Charlie and Zakk do professionally yeoman's work in paying tribute to their fellow musicians. Props to all and I hope Dime and Vin are having a black tooth grin, smiling and seeing the pure intentions of this. RIP Abbott brothers 🙏
I hope youre right.i guess vinnie paul has different thinking about thus kind of reunion as he sees this as selfish and stupid. I just heard it in an interview with vinnie when hes stil alive.
These scenarios are virtually always mainly about securing retirement funds and cashing in.
That’s just how it is man virtually EVERYONE does this type of thing mostly for the money.
In bet none of them was initially thrilled with the idea of signing a contract to do a long imposter tour until they seen all those zeros on the the amount being offered to them.
@@billyarsenault1970 With the exception of Rex, the other 3 were in other bands and doing ok. Maybe they are getting big bucks from this, but I also hold out some faith in the humanity and camaraderie of the musicians being able to do this out of their honor for the brothers that can't. I am sure agents and lawyers have carefully crafted contracts to shield the members from lawsuits. As for Phil and Rex, it is a 20 year dream in the making. Phil does Pantera songs with the Illegals and I am sure he wouldn't if he got sued and lost.
