    Thank you for this video...and all the others. I too find the 'direct translation' charming (ie: "Wood" = "Tree"). What I like the most is that in addition to the technical aspects, you also provide us the 'Spirit' of your cultural pottery making.

      I think that the English translation may be wrong, but I think it's good if the meaning is conveyed.
      The Japanese sense of beauty is unique, and I feel the sense of beauty even in things that are distorted.

      I agree with you full heartily. Everything translated is very clear. My work is also absolutely "imperfect"...That gives it a soul ! The challenge is to make things with un-predicted beautiful proportions and beautiful finishes. Otherwise things are boring.

    Thank you so much for your two uTube demonstrations. You are so clear in explaining. Also such a successful result! Just one question please, what was the temperature that the tea bowl was fired at the finish? Thank you!

      Are you interested in firing at 700℃?
      "Chawan" is interesting for forming, glazeing and firing. There are many things I can't make as I want...

      kiraku WEB動画 陶芸教室 i normally first (bisque) fire at 1000C using stoneware clay and then glaze fire at 1200C. I wonder what advantage firing at 700 is? Perhaps your clay or tradition. I know tradition is important in making tea bowls.

    • @kiraku-pottery
      @kiraku-pottery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment.
      700℃ means that the clay will not change and collapse. This is because you don't have to raise the temperature to 1000°C.
      Although the temperature differs between 700 ℃ and 1000 ℃, I think that the meaning of firing is the same.
      In the case of porcelain clay, unglazed at 900℃.

    Under which product name I can find weathered feldspar? Is it regular feldspar or? I am confused 🙂

    • @kiraku-pottery

      Thank you for your comment.
      There are many feldspars.
      I think it's interesting to look for what you want from among them.
      Weathered feldspar tends to change the surface of the glaze.

      @@kiraku-pottery Thank you for your answer but I still do not know which weathered feldspar to buy and try. Wherever I looked online, I did not find weathered feldspars, only feldspars. I have assumed there is a difference. Can you please refer me to any commercial feldspar I can buy online or provide any link to the website?

    • @kiraku-pottery
      @kiraku-pottery  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      thank you for your reply.
      The only way to decide which feldspar to buy is to try it yourself.
      I don't think you can buy the same thing in Holland.
      Japanese pottery raw materials dealers dig their own feldspar.
      At that time, I select things that are weathering.

    一つことを聞きたいです、楽焼窯で素焼きすることをできますか?

    • @kiraku-pottery
      @kiraku-pottery  ปีที่แล้ว

      コメントありがとうございます。
      楽焼窯がどの窯を示しているのか定かではありませんが、上絵付用の窯なら「理論的」には大丈夫だと思います。
      10時間程度かけて800℃前後まで温度をあげれれば「理論的」には素焼きが完成します。
      ただし、窯の構造上「水蒸気」がどうなのかがわかりません。販売店に聞いて見ることをオススメします。
