I made an Alien shot glass, carved like that then put some carved characters like a language from another planet, really fun to take shots from, thanks for the video, I do bonsai pots and do similar techniques
right then.. i have my hollowed out cylindrical lump of clay.. waiting for it to get leather hard.. i can imagine its tempting to start carving before its hard enough.. excited lol.. thanks for the video :)
Awesome video, very informative and straight to the point. Love the look of your cup, it looked bigger than other examples i've seen. I'm going to try this later today. Greetings from Germany
Thanks for sharing. You're a great teacher and the quality of your video is also very good. I wonder what sort of clay you use for this. My clay is quite sandy and I don't really like it for carving.
What kind of clay are you using for this? I've tried some stoneware for this and it doesn't seem to tear so that I get the nice texture you have. Thanks for the video!
Have you tried making your own ash glaze to bring it all together? I’ve had some success in using ash, boric acid, and locally sourced minerals to create unique glazes.
@@ta-daan9009 Hi, I tried it out. First I thought it looks bad, but it came out nice. As you said, don't think much about it. The difficult part was to get it dry enough but also not to dry. Thanks again fro the tutorial.
Hi, thanks for this lovely tutorial!! Where do you get your nice natural/uncoloured air dry clay from? I'm trying to find something similar but I can only find white or terracotta coloured. Can you recommend a brand, or search terms I could try? Thanks :)
Great video, such a cool technique! I was wondering though, would there be risk of the edges cutting you after firing? I've had experiences where the clay became quite sharp after firing when having sharp edges like that.
You glaze the pot after it’s first firing and the glaze will stop the edges being too sharp. You could use a glaze that “breaks” to help bring out all the lovely texture.

Revealing is an amazing thing to do. Showing the hidden world and giving it a sense of purpose.

Really clear and helpful video, thank you! 😊 What is the final thickness of your cup?
Oh thanks! About 0.3-0.5 cm

Hello Antonia! Thank you so much for your comment! Happy you liked the video. The is air dry clay, no firing needed :)

👏👏👏
How long do you wait till the clay is hard enough? 😊
Hi, what type of glaze do you use on your thumbnail pic ? It looks matte/doff.
Thank you in advance.
Thanks for the video! How much time need to wait to dry clay, that would be able to carve outside the body?
Depends on how much clay you are using, about 6-8 hours should be enough ☺
How long do you typically let the clay dry before you begin with cutting?

Благодарю❤❤
What glaze do you use on these vessels?
nice video.
🤩
a quale temperatura hai cotto. dove si può vedere il vaso finito?
Ciao Luisa. Non è cotto, si tratta di argilla che si secca all'aria. È un argilla senza cottura
@@ta-daan9009 grazie
Greetings from Denmark. What is a Rocky Mountain face?
Hello!! Is definitely a bumpy rocky surface
Like zee rocky mountains
Ok
Or you could glaze it?? To use it for drinking?!?!?!
Hello, why do you say it’s not for food or drink? You can if it’s not too edgy and if it’s cook with glaze isn’t it?
Air dry clay is not food safe😢
how much do you need for this cup? I did not understand your English...
One kg is a kilo. That’s what she starts with.
