    Hi Mod, Your video lessons are amazing :) Just one small piece of advice: Try to record in a room without too much reverb (e.g. from concrete walls) and consider using a directional mic or, even better, a wireless clip on mic. The video quality is excellent, but in educational videos (especially on a phonetically rich language like Thai), the sound quality is even more important. Keep up the good work - greatly appreciated :)

      +Rolf Lunheim yes, I wanted to say the same. The sound is ok, but not great. I guess the wall made it sound as in a basement. But I learned a lot. thanks.

    I watch quite a lot of Thai lakorn and these interjections are so common. I feel happy watching this one because all of them sound familiar and I dont feel that lost compared to other lessons lol

    I've taught in Thailand twice now that I've became so used to saying เออ, even though I'm in England now, I still answer people sometimes with เออ

    Excellent lesson! These interjections are very common and good to know. Thank you Pear and Mod!

    It's "Common". Thanks for the video Mod, I'm happy to see you started making new lessons. Also some feedback: I think this room you use is only good for the light but the sound has echo. Maybe the room is too empty with less furniture and so on.

    Useful words to know if you want to speak natural sounding Thai. Thais use these words all the time but they are often neglected in dictionaries.

    Dear Mod and Pear (Please read this in a laughing loving way :) LOL ) :)
    You two are such bad funny actors in this video - you made me laugh out loud. :) My Bangkok Granddaughters could make this video!!!! (But I would let them say "bird s..." - they would have to say "bird doodoo". :)
    But it is a good teaching video and you were obviously having fun. And I'm still laughing!!! :)
    Thank you Mod and Pear for sharing your fun, friendship, and teaching with us. :)

    We, Cambodians, also say "Ooi!" when expressing pain. Speaking of Cambodians, I'm in Bangkok right now and have yet to meet a single Cambodian. This is my first time in Southeast Asia since I was one year old. Where are my people at in Thailand?

    Hello Mod, I love your lessons. It is very engaging, helpful and easy to understand. I would like to know the meaning and usage of the word 'kor'? I often listen normal thai conversation have this word 'kor/laew kor' or something sounded like "la kor.." Thank you!

    • @bothchick4962
      @bothchick4962 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually the word "ก็ (Khor)" mean "Then". So sometime in english we use the word "Then" for get attention from our friends Right? like if your friends are talking and you want to say something immediately. As same as the word "ไม่ (Mai)", In common case mean "No" But In some case we will say "Mai" or repeat that again untill our friends will listen to us. But The word "แล้วก็ (Leaw Khor) mean "And" or "Then".

    • @bothchick4962

      Yes some sound just for girl and gay hahaha. But I think now mostly Thai people don't care about that. I can hear my friends shout all of that word. hahaha

    Hello Mod and Pear! I saw a Thai interjection being used in a Thai music video where a lady say's 'man sai'. Could you please explain this? Thanks for another great video!

    • @kaweejay
      @kaweejay 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      mitchelljarvis2010 man sai is used when you feel someone overdoing or overacting in something and you feel a bit jealous or disturbed. This word can be good and bad expression depends on how you raise your voice or express your feeling thru your face or action. Example: Kate is telling me about her trip to Thailand that she had wonderful trips and so much fun. Then I say 'hmmm man sai jing jing loei :)' meaning I am a bit jealous but enjoying her story. But if you really dislike someone for what he/she did, you can say this word too.

    Very good and funny as usual, they are sounds I listen everyday, but I don't use them, I don't want to play " Thai ", I am not Thai and I think from a farang, it would be ridiculous ; I agree with people who say there is too much resonance, difficult to understand you ; first I thought I came from my speakers

    เฮ้ย = Hoy which is the similar to hey but a level up to attract attention.
    Hey you, excuse me, hey you! Hoy! Listen when I'm speaking!
    I reckon Thais would just raise the volume of เฮ้ย. เฮ้ย dont eat all the pizza. เฮ้ย !!! That's the last slice!

    When I was in Thailand I got used to saying เออ and อ๋อ so that when I got back to Germany I kept saying it but here in Germany its makes you look as if you are stupid, as if you are very slow and all my new teachers thought I was kinda stupid for a while.
    It's funny how different using these sounds can make you look in different cultures^^
    Anyways, interesting video, I was using a lot of them without even really knowing what they meant or how they were spelled :D
