Mold exposure is a great one. My skin's increasing sensitivity was the first sign that something was wrong. My skin was trying to tell me something for years!

I feel my atopic dermatitis is directly linked to stomach issues. When the stomach issues flare my skin gets worse.

I can relate to a lot of this. I cannot wear anything polyester either. It not only affects my skin, I break out in a sweat and get nauseated. Feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons) were a big problem. Crisp cotton feels like sandpaper to me. You listed things I have, but didn’t realize it’s linked to atopic dermatitis. Thank you.

Wool yarn is made of many short fibers twined together. It can be very pokey and scratchy. Merino wool is longer, so fewer hairs poke the skin. Different types of wool, wool blends, and softer spun wool can make a big difference. Even cashmere can be annoying if not prepared well.

I had the worst flares ever with that wool 😅 my parents like gifting wool sweaters (not anymore thank God 😂) but they thought it wasn't the clothes but my skin doing its own thing which was from their pov not related to the wool. Thanks Doctor Andrea for reminding us these signs of atopic dermatitis 😊❤.

My atopic dermatitis issue has been wirh my neck for as long as I can remember. It gets irritated, red and itchy very easily. I do exercise a lot so I know that it's part of the issue. I've been diagnosed with atooic dermatitis from my dermatologist. I've tried everything pretty much that the derm recommended and also the things that my allergist tried. I've done skin testing to determine any allergens to chemicals, but most of the products that I use do not contain those offensive ingredients.
I'm doing laser hair removal to get rid of my neck hair because shaving irritates my neck as well. I've tried many anti-itch lotions, creams, inclusumg hydrocortisine cream.
All of this to say, that at least for me, I have not found any real long-lasting solution to this issue. Very frustrating... 😢

I relate to soooo many of these, especially constant chapped lips. What are some good toothpaste options for those of us who are super sensitive to toothpaste? I have been searching for a good toothpaste that is dentist approved (has fluoride) but doesn’t have SLS or mint as those tend to be what I react the worst to but it is near impossible to find! I finally found a kids brand that doesn’t seem to irritate my lips but I don’t ever feel like my teeth are clean because it tastes like bubble gum. 😏

My DH has seen a dermatologist for eczema, then got diagnosed with atopic dermatitis, and now has a terrible topical allergic reaction to some preservatives. He got exposed and even though it’s been months since we got rid of the allergen, his back remains just as flared as it was in the beginning. He can’t be on steroids anymore (he kinda maxed out on them; more would be dangerous) and topical steroids have thinned his skin too much. He wears Vaseline under his shirts, but it seems like the allergen might even be “sealed into” his skin! It always takes him at least a few weeks to get over an exposure. This time, most of his body healed, but his back is bad. It even bleeds onto his t-shirts. I just don’t think the doctors here are able to help him. Can you think of anything, Dr. Dray? (We identified the allergens and have been very careful, but they can’t even test him for new allergens, just in case, because his back need to heal first-it’s that bad!) Thank you! 🙏🏻

I’ve heard a derm on TH-cam say 70% alcohol for “dirty neck.”

Shereene idris said it. However, I think in that case the neck is truly dirty and isn't a result of hyperpigmentation from eczema

Dr. Dray! The benzene saga continues but this time benzoyl peroxide is the culprit. Benzoyl Peroxide is breaking down into alarming levels of benzene? What’s the deal?
Hold me Dr. Dray. I’m scared I’m about to become lumpy without my BP.

My granddaughter had white dermagraphism as an infant, but only lasted a very short time. She did not have any other visible skin condition at the time. It's never reappeared. She's 9 now.

I am experiencing nearly everything. The dirty neck is so bad rn for me. It's mostly at the base of my neck and is severely hyperpigmented, even along the folds. Idk what to do because I didn't experience this before and think it got worse due to uva light treatments and excessive sweating while sleeping
Also permanent denny morgan lines here & allergic shiners. I look older than my mom 😢

I'm extremely satisfied with the results of Planet Ayurveda's treatment for my eczema. The itching and irritation have decreased, and my skin feels soft and hydrated. I highly recommend them.

There is something called aquagenic urticaria. The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology should have information.
