As a football mom, I spent every Friday night watching my son get hit like this and slamming through many players. He was a running back and only 5'6" but tough. It takes a special kind of person to take these hits daily and keep going. Great video.
@@Darth_Lunas my son was a running back/fullback. He always hated being short but he also squats 450lb so pushing big guys out of the way was no problem 🤣😂

This was a wonderful one! It got me so pumped up for this season. I really cannot express strongly enough the need for you guys to go to an SEC football game in person. ANY SEC game. The families, the food, the excitement, the glitter and the sound, omg, the sound..... it is an actual full on experience. I think I've been to games at many of the campuses and they all have great things going for them. Another commenter mentioned Tennessee and that's a good one for sure. As a member of the Auburn Family, I try to live by the Auburn Creed....so, win or lose it's always War Damn Eagle for me! Thanks for sharing.
I know right?!?! I'm a diehard Notre Dame fan so who knows what kind of madness we have coming lol. New head coach and players Ohio State opening weekend will be tough but college football is the best sport on Earth!
@@auburnkim1989 Yep! But an Auburn game is a thrill ride too! Any SEC game will hold my attention. I’m just an LSU fan because I’ve spent my entire life in Louisiana lol! Can’t wait for football to kick off!
Having played football, albeit only up to High School, it is amazingly fun to lay a big hit on another player. It is always better to be giving the hit than to be getting hit. Though just like little kids rough housing around it’s just fun.
Love the football reaction videos! I played all through high school and almost played in college. Such a fun game but can be brutal at times. You guys are awesome.
My son played football from age 8-10 then again in high school. Two of his teammates attended the same elementary school and all of we parents walked in the school doors saying, “I promise we don’t beat him-he plays football!”
I miss the hits. Especially the bitter cold games when they really sting or the rainy muddy games where you just get covered in mud and blood and sweat. Yes sir, I miss playing. I broke fingers, cracked my strernum, broke my nose, played half a season with a broken foot, sprained my ankles, cracked my jawbone, and I wouldn't trade a minute of it. Finally had to quit due a torn rotator cuff in my senior year of high school that ended my last season. There is nothing like the adrenalin rush in any other sport.
Millie, you can ease your mind about the "neck" of the players. The helmets have a huge neck roll in the back that helps to protect the neck from slamming back too far....just like a roll cage on cars.
I use to play with my friends just for fun. No pads and maybe not hit each other as hard for it was still loads of fun especially playing in the mud. I think Millie needs to watch more of these videos. Her expressions are priceless.
Love it when Texas Tech gets recognized in videos. Especially my boy Jakeem Grant, shout out from Lubbock, Texas. If y'all ever make it to the area I have season tickets, y'all can come haha.
Millie's expressions when there was a big hit was so telling. As compared to her smile when there was a great catch. So maybe find a video of greatest catches so she can smile more.
Yes players are allowed to shove other players. A few of those hits were definitely penalties. I grew up watching sports with my grandpa. College football is my favorite though.
Depends on the player and the time. I recall a play back in '07 when a USF receiver shoved off his blocker to make a catch and got called for offensive pass interference. That call ended up costing them the game when the next throw was intercepted and ended USF's one and only shot at a natty to date and it wasn't even really a necessary shove.
In College you only need to get 1 foot in, you need 2 in the NFL. Also any body part other than your hand or foot landing in bounds counts the same as getting both feet in. There was a play I saw in an NFL game where the receiver, after review was ruled to have caught a pass inbounds because one of his butt cheeks landed inbounds before any part of his body touched out of bounds.
Y'all gotta see some of these athletes in person. They're absolute freaks of nature. I'm a big Bama fan, and a lot of Bama players are at the top of that list. I used to live/work in Tuscaloosa (including working Bama games) so I was lucky enough to be in close proximity to those players fairly regularly and maaaaan. These videos just don't do them justice. Derrick Henry is the size of a tank and could almost certainly outrun one. 😂
In High School and College football you only have to have 1 foot down in the field of play for it to be a completed pass. In the Pros, you have to have both feet down. The protocols for concussions in football are taken very seriously. Over the past decade, the improvement to the helmets and player safety is a top priority. Yes, it looks horrific, but the players are much more safe than it seems. What causes the most injuries is the way they hit the ground. And listen here mate, your lady just said the best catch she made was you. You better take her out for an extremely nice night out on the town. :)
I have met JJ Watt a few times, his wife Kealia Ohai was on our soccer team. Her sister Megan is married to former Houston Texan Brian Cushing. I met the whole crew. Lovely people. Also he could throw me into the sun and there's nothing I could do about it.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworld yeah the refs are literally killing the NFL its almost to the point i can't even watch it anymore, but College has its fair share of BS refs, as a die hard Vols fan those 2 games against Ole Miss and Purdue in the Music City Bowl game was fucking pathetic ACC refs need to stay out of the SEC imo.

One deciding factor that's different from the NFL is that in College, you only need to have possession with 1 foot in bounds for it to be ruled a catch. But yeah college sports are massive over here.
For Americans who don't know about netball, it's played mostly by girls, like basketball, but 7 players on a side and there's no dribbling. You have to pass, and can't move at all while you have the ball.
You inquired if pushing is allowed. Pushing is allowed as long as the defensive player pushes the offensive player while he is still on the field. If the offensive player is intentionally running out of bounds, the defensive player can't push him recklessly out of bounds. That is an unnecessary roughness penalty.
A lot of those hits will lead to an ejection now. College football is the most intense game there is. They are much more intense to me than professional football. College fans are the best.

It's a sport where if you have possession of the ball, you can't move but only pivot. So to transition, it's a series of passes to teammates. And the rim/net has no backboard. A quick youtube vid of it and it's really easy to understand. We had to play it in PhysEd in Australia so that's the only way I know of it.

In college football, you only have to get 1 foot down in-bounds when you catch the ball. Unlike the NFL where you have to have both feet down.
Like all the that are not easy, training is key not to getting permanently hurt. Weight training helps and running builds endurance.
Remember, American football is not a contact sport, it’s a collision sport!
The ball only needs to cross the plane of the goalline to be a touchdown. The player himself does not have to cross the line
