    This is how we played football when I was a teen in the ‘70. I separated both shoulders & broken my nose & ribs but I wouldn’t change a thing

      Makes you want to strap it up and get out there. To be fair, a lot of big hits do not hurt as much as they look. It is the torn ligaments when you just slip or turn that cause pain for months.

      I blew out my ACL, MCL, and PCL taking a low block on Punt coverage. Then forced a 3 and out playing Nose Tackle. After that, I laid on the ground and called for the trainers. Pure adrenaline, idk how I played without a functioning leg. I was in crutches for months after that

      3 broken ribs, collarbone, nose and knee injury. Broken ribs were courtesy of my best friend who played for a different school 🤣 best hit I ever received. Lost my helmet and mouthguard.

      You can literally smell the blood after a good hit. I played O tackle and got blindsided from the other side, sat a play and went back in... it was the worst ride home after the game. My leg locked up, definitely was in tears. I'm curious if the reactors ever played contact sports.

    My favorite hit was the peewee kids. They are just so adorable in their uniforms and it was a decent tackle for a little guy.

    The only thing that keeps more people from getting hurt is a lot of these hits they bounce off so they don’t get the full impact. You can tell the ones that do because they just fold like a wet noodle. The stats I saw when my son played claim that with a full field run and a solid hit the players hit together with the force of two compact cars hitting head on at 30 miles per hour. This was really common with kick off returns which is why they changed the rules for it. For your next one you should check out a video of NFL bad weather games. They had one game where the weather was so bad the refs couldn’t use their whistles because the whistle would freeze to their lips.

    They are all good hits, but the ones that SCARE me, are the ones when the defender hits a player that is running flat out, and they fall down but the defender is standing there like it didn't even affect him. Those are CRINGE worthy. Great Post.

    The hit at 2:24 is why the All Star game has become so soft. That was in the A.S.G. After that began the rules both written and "unwritten" about not hitting the QB in the A.S.G. That is what eventually morphed into the flag football crap they are doing now.

    • @shadowfrost__
      @shadowfrost__ 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sad thing is that, that wasn't even a QB taking that hit. That hit was Sean Taylor (RIP) taking out the punter Brian Mooreman after a fake punt.

    Compared to rugby this is just child's play. Granted, some hits really look hard, but im rugby there are no shoulder pads and no helmets. Believe me, some hits are like going against a bulldozer.

    • @MrTech226
      @MrTech226 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rugby is very rough, but I reacted Australian Rules Football League or AFL, players like rugby players wear not helmets or padding too But their hits is so outrageous too. Prior to current NFL rules, players were playing hard similar to their rugby counterparts. One game in the 80s, Bears vs Raiders I think was most brutal in NFL history. Bears' QB, Jim McMahon was urinating blood in the locker-room after the game. Report that Jim had lacerated kidney(s). Some of these hits are now considered as illegal according to NFL Rules today.

      @@MrTech226 Good Lord! Didn't know that. Never watched a full NFL game because it takes so long to finish. Guess it would be better if it didn't have so many TV ads.

      Rugby is nothing compared to this, lol. It has nothing to do with the hits. It has to do with the whiplash when going to the ground. This is why the damage has gotten worse the more padding they add. It allows them to collide at higher velocity and with greater whiplash. If they took pads back to 70 or 50 years ago, there'd be far less brain and spine damage and things would slow down. The pads just give them the greenlight to go harder.
      College wrestling is more violent than Rugby just less ghey dog piling to feel up everyone's bums.

    • @ronRon-fl1qw
      @ronRon-fl1qw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rugby is paddy cake. We don’t lock shoulders and push a pile. We run at 20 mph into another grown man running 20 mph. The pads make things more dangerous

    Forget NFL hits go watch a real man's sport and watch rugby league or union big hits and these guys don't wear full gear a mouth guard is all

    • @daylonhucks5592
      @daylonhucks5592 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      These guys are running over 20 mph straight at each other sometimes so it’s like a 40mph car crash. They also don’t hold back at all when they hit because of the helmets and pads. The helmets and pads don’t do as much as you think. Rugby definitely is a real man’s sport just like the NFL though

    • @shure81

      The NFL has become a joke. Every tackle is a penalty nowadays.

    • @stevedavis5704
      @stevedavis5704 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      One of the downsides to wearing all the pads is that you can hit harder before you get hurt so when you get hurt it’s more severe. In high school football every year, in every state there is at least one fatality and an average of ten people injured so bad they have to stop playing and sometimes are crippled for life. The stats are similar for college football. The one big thing about rugby is that like basketball you are always moving so you need the stamina to do that. In football you have brief spurts of high energy but a small break in between so you have to be able to pace yourself differently. A football play is measured in seconds with about forty seconds in between so you need to keep starting and stopping which can be tiring itself. At the end of it all, both sports are hard on a person and the higher up you get the harder it gets.

    I really could have done without the obnoxious "music" in the clips. And each clip is about 2 seconds long. You can't even focus on who is going to get hit before they're on to the next clip. Not a fan of the video (your reaction was good; I just didn't like the video). It's almost like they were trying to find football hits to highlight the music rather than the other way around.

  • @user-fc3jv8db2g
    @user-fc3jv8db2g 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have enjoyed your reactions to music and other video clips, but in all honesty, this presentation is profoundly disturbing. Several decades ago, the very first comprehensive study of the post-career effects of playing professional American football was released and it was utterly shocking. Compared to the typical life expectancy for American males of about 75, retired NFL players were routinely dying in their 50s. And the incidence of severe brain damage and physical suffering they endure is horrifying. For eaxmple, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopoly - better known as CTE - is rampant among these athletes, and has effects similat to Alzheimer's Disease. Yet both of you seemed to actually enjoy some of what you were watching. Among the comments,. there was not a single person who had a clue as to what they were seeing, and most expressed pleasure at the whole thing. Folks, you really need to rethink this, and do MUCH better. Really disappointing.
    Keith.
