Seen these engines (3.0TT V6) in Ford Explorers ST's (there 5300lbs) getting around Miami, FL. 3.8 Sec 0-60mph with tune/Filter/intercooler/Fuel pump & E85. Bring it on 😀

Would have been nice of Ford to slot the 3.5 TT V6 from the F-150 Raptor into the Ranger Raptor, and you wouldn't need the aftermarket boost. But I guess this would cannibalize the F-150 Raptor sales once the Ranger Raptor lands State side. 3.8 Sec 0-60mph is impressive!

Power to weight dude, this thing weighs 2.5 tons, for a ute it is exceptional, these figures are hot hatch territory which should be decent enough for a ute this size.
@@GoogleAccount-pt4zu I'd say more warm hatch, than hot hatch. Even less so when it's gotta take a corner on the bitumen. 🤣
And with a power to weight ratio of only 120KW per tonne, and AWD, it's going to lose a bit of power through the drivetrain. Personally I can't wait to race one of these then take a round about with them up my ass and see how they go. 🤣🤣🤣

Great video. About time we have a current spec twin cab ute available in au that accelerates faster than a Pantech truck. Be good if the 2.3L ecoboost engine was available as an option in regular Ranger and Everest models.
the 2.3 is probably a bit light to shift a truck that size and still keep a reasonable fuel economy and tow capacity. The diesel options do fine on power and economy fronts. If anything id like to see a diesel engine offered in this raptor setup

Its a V6 eco boost petrol engine. Been in American raptors for years
actually it's been in Explorer ST and the Lincoln upmarket vehicles.
This 3.0L is basically an upgrade of the 3.0L Duratec, the big changes are turbos and port/direct injection.

And your Audi would still leave it for dead, especially after 100. The lack of aero dynamics and the Low power to weight will really start to show after that. Unless you have the diesel SQ5, in which case it has a lower power to weight, but lots of torque to shove it along. Haha
For something with the aerodynamic of a block of flats and weights about the same drinks like ocean liner dam thing ii's quick

Geez under the bonnet is a bit messy! Also no gas strut lifts on the bonnet either, but an old school support stick. Think they could have done a bit better.

only needs 3 gears to get to 100km/h unlike the diesel V6 which needs 5 gears.
so that tells me there is a whole lot more in the diesel V6 if someone wants to unlock it's true potential as Ford have mapped it for economy not speed
Lower gears is more acceleration...
this engine revs out to 6k rpm. of course the diesel needs to shift more to hit 100 since its only 3-4k rpm.
Remember the petrol revs higher. Same ratios different RPM.
yes the Raptor has 4:11 final drive ratio however I think the key difference is engine mapping and the fact that the transmission actually has a sports mode whereas the diesel versions don't.
that's is not how that works, the deiael still has.more torque and much earlier in the rev range, as i said elsewhere the transmission also has a sports mode whereas the diesel version is more set up to economy then outright speed.
I found one of these gunning it down the highway like he owns the road which most ute drivers do, so I decided to give him a run in my Sonata N Line & left him for dead, nothing to brag about, but was still impressed by the performance of a 2.5 ton ute.

It is pretty fast when you consider it’s a Ute. It’s pretty much hot hatch territory. Which despite how accustomed to fast cars you might be, it’s pretty impressive.

Yes, we noticed the modes don’t seem to make much difference when sitting on the stop/idle. It’s not until you head out and drive 👍

It won't tow as well as the v6 diesel and will cost twice as much in fuel
A decent exhaust, tune, intake and a few other little mods should see this thing become reasonably fast.
With they put a barra in it however.
This is almost a perfect ute, shame it's made by ford, almost guaranteed to have major problems.
