Ohh it comforts my soul hear Rick Rubin speak of these guys this way. I've been following them for almost 20 years and I actually was lucky enough to have their father, Jim Avett, play in my living room in Bastrop TX one time. If you get a chance to see them live just go.
I liked them going into the Pilgrimage Festival last year but it was so awesome that I’m now going to see them again in April at The Caverns in Tennessee. 👍🏻
Several years back, they were playing in my hometown. Around 3 in the afternoon, I happened to be driving by where they were going to be playing that night, and decided to park and mill around to see if I could “steal” a little soundcheck action. Sure enough, the big trucks and tour bus were there. And sure enough, they were there, tinkering around and doing what I would best call ‘a light sound check.’ It was amazing to see them interacting with each other. And I was sitting far away, thinking I was unseen. And THEN Seth & a roadie walk past me, and Seth asks me where the nearest Goodwill is. And the crew-member said they were “making a run to Arby’s, did I want anything.” Just REAL DUDES! Authentic as you possibly ever imagine, and their music reflects it.
I LOVE! The AVETT FAMILY! ... I was born and raised in Concord NC ... I "claim" this entire GODLY FAMILY! as OURS! (MINE!) ... I DON'T think you will EVER find BETTER PEOPLE !!! ❤️❤️❤️
I discovered them about 13 years ago and wow I have been so impressed for so long. They are an amazing band that is wonderful to see live. They've made so many amazing songs. My wife and I have seen them in concert three times and loved each show. They sound incredible live. Well worth checking out!
I always wish that the Avett Brothers would have been on Joe Rogan show but people don't understand how beautiful and culturally strong their message is
I just saw them with Willie Nelsons Outlaw Music Festival. I had never seen or heard them play a note before. Rick is describing the exact vibe I got from just hearing them live. GO SEE THEM IF YOU GET A CHANCE. YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF.
Saw them live in Key West several years ago and they put on an amazing show. How the Avetts have no Grammys shows you why the Grammys are BS. They have such a collection of amazing music and are still relatively unknown.
They won a Grammy in 2017 for best Americana Album for Great Saddness. (Hard to call them Americana) :/ yes, Grammy fail, but great for them being nominated. I bet they wouldn't accept to be nominated at this point out of solidarity to all of humankind. They are loved and they love!
“Actual nice people” I know it will be scoffed at; but the appropriate observation is ‘actual Christian people.” The Avett Brother encompass exactly what it means to be a Christian. They are kind, grateful, gracious to others, obedient men. They have demons that they are open about; but they battle them with the grace of Christ. I’ve known Scott and Sean for decades…they are the real deal. REAL Christian men.
They actually don’t you fuckin just wanted to say that because it’s what Christians do. Listen to their podcast with Pete Holmes they get deep into religion and Seth more or less says he is not religious in any specific way
You know what it’s called, morals, a code of ethics. You know where you get it?? From scripture and living a god fearing life. People still do not understand it nor do they want to discipline themselves to live such a life and raise their children in it.
I loved them until they kicked a member out because he couldn't get the jab... Then they trashed him. Those "nice" guys are usually the worst. Absolute tools.
They're an inoffensive, wholesome complete bore. We need more people like them in the world, for sure, but they do not make compelling music or art. It's completely frictionless.

The Avett’s are my favorite band. Hands down. I had no idea Rick was involved with them. Now I love them even more
If you love the Avett brothers then you have to see the documentary that he’s referencing here “May It Last”. It’s great.
Great band. "Weight of Lies" is such a beautiful song.

Amen❤
I’m a Metalhead and Avett Brothers are my favorite band too!!! “If it’s the Beaches” is my favorite song

We experienced a similar situation. Such beautiful people.
A human after my own.. good day for ya!
My fav. ‘No Hard Feelings’. Family will be playing it @ my funeral.
I first heard that song at a friend's funeral and it was perfect.
Love that band. Phenomenal
Scott and Seth are the most down to Earth dudes ever. Like he said, "Life's better when you're hanging out with the Avett Brothers."
Saw them at memorial auditorium with my mom and her bff, and it was one of the best shows ever ❤
Went to school with seth. He was pretty popular in school. I rode the bus with him. Never heard or saw him being rude or a jerk to anyone.
Hey Carolina, where’d you go to high school. Hickory represent

I live in the same town as them, and I've met them both around town. Wonderful dudes. Everybody knows them and will say the same.
The great conversations that the vet brothers would have with Joe Rogan would turn people's heads completely a thousand degrees wide
I just saw them in Taos the crowd was as sweet as them amazing vibe
I bet that was a great show!.. seen them in Santa Fe (Opera House) and Albuquerque, as well as Red Rocks. Best ever!

That documentary was so good too!
So so much! ❤
You just about have to have a beautiful soul to make music like those four fellas do.
Most definitely. There's an aura of some sort of almost "holiness" about them. In Bob and Joe, too.
Looking forward to seeing them, again next month in Texas. 🙂
Dude, the Avetts are so cool. Saw them in Orlando.
I believe the “it” that he’s drawn to is the spirit that lives in those guys. Irresistible grace.
Loved watching them work together.
Im NOT a country fan(modern), but i freaking LOVE these guys! Been on board since "i, and love, and you", and been spreading the word ever since!❤
Good thing they're not a country band. 🙃
The Avett Brothers are so talented, I love them!
I love them 😊
They are way cool !!and I listen to there music at least once a week !!they do it all and at the top level….listen and you will probably agree
It was love at first song for me. Murder in the City. My husband and I are crazy about them❤
Avett brothers are amazing musicians.
I always wish that the Avett Brothers would have been on Joe Rogan show but people don't understand how beautiful and culturally strong their message is

The Avett Brothers are great!
They are a gift from god.
Best band ever 🫡
Mama I don't believe can make me cry anytime

Love the Avetts.
100% - just good humans!
“Life’s better when you’re hanging out with the Avett brothers”. It’s confirmed. I need to figure out a way to hang out with the Avett brothers?
So them live for the first time this year. One of the few groups that sounds better live, not worse.
So so good live
Going on a shallow 7 times, their new record is out of this world well produced. It will be interesting to see it performed live
Saw them at the Zoo Amphitheater in OKC for father's day!!! Love the Avett Brothers!!
Laundry Room by the Avett Brothers.
TRUTH ✌️

That's because they are from NORTH CAROLINA where we still know how to be polite and soulful
The city if Charlotte disagrees
❤
They have a strong faith In Jesus Christ. That has everything to do with it.
They actually don’t you fuckin just wanted to say that because it’s what Christians do. Listen to their podcast with Pete Holmes they get deep into religion and Seth more or less says he is not religious in any specific way
JRE should have the Avett Brothers on
I shouldn't be, but still am a little shocked that Rick worked with them.
Why? Rick's very talented.
Avetts made me walk out before seeing willie nelson.....
🎸🤠

Clearly, this guy hasn't hung out with Schaub.
Stay away stay far away from the East Coast
The Avett Brothers are from the east coast, North Carolina.
@@imyourhuckleberky7715 yeah that's why they're so nice the wackos ended up at the West Coast during manifest destiny
I loved them until they kicked a member out because he couldn't get the jab... Then they trashed him. Those "nice" guys are usually the worst. Absolute tools.
Boat loads of Shame day after day more of the same
