  • I stayed in the log cabin for 3 days, completing a few projects and making general improvements. The wood stove was finally fitted and made a huge difference, keeping me really warm throughout the stay.

My dog is a 13 year old Golden Retriever named Quincy. I've had him since he was 7 weeks old. He's literally my baby, my life, and the goodest of boys. I don't know what I'd do without him!

My husband and I used to have 37 pure bred Siberian Huskies but now we are down to 3. We gave our past puppy customers a chance to have another dog from our kennel and that way all 34 are in their new forever homes, although some of the older ones have 'crossed the rainbow bridge' by now. We are in our 70's and felt it was time to scale down. I miss them a lot especially during our winters as we used to go sledding every weekend, but we feel we did the right thing.

Used to have a German Shepherd. Miss that guy. All he wanted to do was play. He's also very friendly to cats. My shepherd was a great companion dog. Some day I will get another when my living situation improves.

I have a 6 pound Chihuahua who thinks she's a 200-pound Rotweiller...until somebody or something turns towards her ferocious barking, then she tries to crawl up my legs so I can save her from what she started! I'd always had larger dogs until I got older, but we are required to pick up their waste here, so smaller is better! LOL
When I'm "luxury" camping I make Shrimp pasta in garlic cream sauce, freeze it then heat it up about day 2 when it thaws out. Vacuum sealing & freezing lots of prepared ahead items makes camp life decadent. Usually reserved for canoe trips or short hikes into a campsite. I often prepare dry ingredients together in a ziplock bag, then only have to add wet ingredients when I'm ready to cook. Works great for brownies, cookies, pancakes, muffins, etc.

That's the appeal of these vids as well as with others

Hey Dustin, I have a dog her name is Angellica (Angel) she is 8 yrs old and is a Pocket American Bully. We adopted her from a life of imprisonment. She was adopted from a breeder who was retiring. Prior to getting her she had lived her life in a cage having puppies then always having them taken from her and sold. Never miss a video, I enjoy your content and what you teach.

    Cheers Dustin
The rack on the side of your camp stove is definitely for drying socks and gloves.... A food idea would be rocky mountain oysters.... Across the pond when we call something homely it is a disparagement meaning dirty rundown ugly or in some way needing help... When we want to describe feeling comfortable we say homey.... As far as a suggestion for making your cabin more homey I would suggest building a custom and unique shelf / cup holder for your beer or other beverage, on the back wall to the right of the vertical post about shoulder height from a seated position on the bed, that way there would be at least one less item on that huge kitchen table / prep station of yours... Hahaha.... Absolutely phenomenal video once again I too love the multiple day stay videos, keep them coming brother.... I don't own a dog to offer a breed but if I were to have a dog it would be a great dane.... Hello Amber

They refused to put on their coats, they were too focused on running around. Meanwhile a sibling of my great dane needs a coat when it's just raining and not even freezing. “Always take the best food possible”. My camping buddy has instilled a mantra that we go by when we do overnighters, “Any idiot can rough it” , so with that we always make sure we eat really well , and have sleep systems to keep warm n dry,
On the subject of your wood stove flu, you could probably figure a way out to secure a stove jack, like you have in a hot tent, into that hole for the flu ?.

For fire safety I'd recommend you nail two logs horizontally to the outside of the cabin with a flat rock suspended between them like a shelf for the chimney... Just be sure the rock isnt touching the wall itself.
Since the support logs are away from the direct heat and the rock has an air gap around it, except for the logs at either end it's sitting on, it should be able to radiate enough thermal energy into the air to avoid a flash fire.
