"The witches cave" cool spot. Long ago places like this were shelters for woodsman, traveler's, and herders. Also there are/were huge wicker basket shelters hung from large trees in that region. Until recent times the alpine mountains hosted bloodthirsty wolves, bears, and wild pigs!

The 'Witches Cave' looks like it was made to be a warming hut for a group of trekkers! The painted sign and the curtains are a 'homely' touch: so far, no one seems to have thought about repair or renovation of the gaps in the timbers. With the proper permissions, that might be a useful summer project.

Greetings from Texas, US! Happy New Year! I know Amber will have a great year as long as she's with you! I love that furry baby! Great video and enjoyed it immensely. Love epic finds like this! I once found an abandoned cabin (nothing as quaint as this one) but had nice sturdy dishes, pots and pans, canning jars for storage items, old tins, furniture, and a wood cook stove. I wish we would have taken it home, it was a beauty! However, when we went back to enjoy the spring flowers in bloom and take photographs, the cook stove was totally destroyed as was the furniture. The windows were busted out and door was in shambles. It is so sad to see the disrespect some people have. I would have given that old stove a loving home with many creations coming out of that oven. This video gave my heart a warm welcome to time past. Great place to welcome stranded visitors.

After just returning from a 4 day trip camping, I was delighted to watch your visit to the witchescave in cold wintery Austria. It was almost 30°C in the day here in Florida, where we hung our hammocks! Great idea to climb the mountain to take a fast snowboard down it after a spunky cup of pine needle tea! I have encountered the prize winner scam and reported it to TH-cam of other places, and also mentioned it to the TH-camr. Wouldn't it nice to build a shelter to find someone had made furniture and other enhancements to it when one returned instead of graffiti and trash? In remote places such shelters could save lives when caught in severe weather some time.
I I first started watching anything bushcraft , it was survival Lily that I started watching and then Vanessa blank and an actual you Dustin and Mike. I so think that Austria is so great totally beautiful. I always enjoyed watching Seb as well❤️
My German father-in-law said a lot of those 'huts in rocks' were made by soldiers in WW2, he said his uncle camped out in one for a month or so during a blizzard before they could move on. It was also a nice way to remove yourself from the fighting for a while but at the same time could be dangerous. What a wonderful find though.
There are alot of those in the alps. Some were probably even small factories. Some probably aren't safe. Bring a flashlight or just do the wise thing and stay out of them!

Then I didn't know what to do about it so I went to Zack's TH-cam and found an email address. They responded that no, it was not Greg. Wow. Close call.

HEY there sir! That shelter reminded me of the first backpacking trip i ever went on in a “natural area” that I won’t name, in Southern California. We hiked into an area where there was a shelter built by an old gold miner that was built that exact same way. Two giant house sized boulders leaned up to each other with the end caps stone and mortared with a front door. Inside the cozy “cabin” was a bed, some shelves a table some old chairs. That was in 1988. About 4 years ago I did some research on it and found that the governing body that oversees that corner of the world was forced to close it down and make that area off limits to visitors due to people going in there and stealing artifacts, tagging the rocks and just generally being disrespectful. I’m not sure if this whole disrespectful behavior phenomenon is an American thing or just a general human thing worldwide but it seemed to have gotten worse over the pandemic. Sadly that special place that i first went backpacking and did other subsequent trips to should probably be dismantled and cleaned up as though noone ever lived there because our society can’t seem to handle the responsibility of caring for such places. I appreciate how you didn’t tell us where that is. I’m sure folks in your region can figure it out roughly where it is. Hey! Was that Survival Lily filming you riding down the mountain? She looks like she boards. I was thinking how did he get big Amber on a plane snd i did some binging and found theres a chunnel that gets you across to france. I guess you have to put you and your car on a train or something like that. That’s neat!! That stupid telegram me thing has affected all of my bushtuber channels. Swedwoods, erik normark, robinet🙄, you name it. I report it as misinformation every time. It’s too bad. It goes back to my little destination i was just talking about. People have lost that ability to mind their business and keep well enough alone. Youngen I'm 67 yrs young I was 20 yrs offshore boss of a oil rig. Ive always been into camping and climbing but I'm hopeless with phones. Left a comment on some other bushcraft channel got told I'd won a prize told my daughter and asked her to claim it for. When she looked she told me no dad its a scam I've worked all my life they could have taken everything from me cheers youngen

I'm sorry that scammers are hitting your channel. I've only gotten one of those messages from some one acting like they were you. I never respond to them. I've had one each from two other bush craft channels as well.
I know you would never scam your followers and it certainly isn't Amber doing it ;))
