Like here too.. People from the cities moved here, and complaining on everything :( Once a woman called the police on the red deers during rutting, because she thought it was someone drunk/drugged! Full of wealthy dumb arrogants, they ruined everything, and the local government just see the tax money from them. Carbon Monoxide IS NOT heavier than air. In fact it is a similar density. If it is hot, it will rise, just like hot air. Carbon Dioxide, on the other hand, IS heavier than air.

I was in the US Military for a very long time. So far the one that I've found was the best MRE for my taste at least. Was Menu #9 Beef Stew. You can eat that cold with out heating up using the ration pack it actually tastes quite good. Would suggest giving that one a go.
As I kid I use to explore everywhere in nature on other people’s land, fishing, building forts, camping overnight. My parents never thought it was wrong. Of course there’s different expectations for adults, but we need to get back to that kind of freedom and innocence.
@@RichWoods23 I feel like it's a lot easier than you think it is, man. Honestly, a lot of kids just use the playstation because it's a time waster, and it's the only thing they have the energy to do. School is pretty hard on students now, and it's not because they're "softer". So maybe give them a break.
Same, I still do it as an adult, just gotta prepared to run away from angry people. Where I now live we have a sizeable woodlands nearby where as long as you get off the main path you're not likely to see anyone, but we came across this father and son building little forts in the woods and the father was teaching his son to use the branches and logs that have already fallen off the trees and not cut down anything fresh because the woodland had a history of illegal logging but theres effort from the community to inform everyone and not to destroy the place.
Who put them behind that playstation? Everyone complaining about the kids but Playstations aren’t cheap. The harsh truth is that the world the ever and always complaining adults made for them simply is boring, and most parents are overly protective, seeing danger behind every blade of grass. You can complain about the children all you want but who raised them? And who raised these parents? Look in a mirror before you start whining.
I was prior service US Army. This is what we used to do because eating MREs gets dull when you have them so often: 1. Get the Beef Stew MRE 2. Trade one of the other guys for their Cheese Spread pack (I used to trade the Charms candies for it) 3. Heat the Beef Stew and Cheese Spread together in the heater (FYI, we always filled that bag almost halfway with water, made heating faster and more consistent) 4. Open the Beef Stew pack along the long edge, pour in molten hot Cheese Spread, mix and enjoy (you can toss in Tabasco sauce at this point as well) 5. For dessert, take the Hot Coco mix and add the instant coffee, creamer, warm water, stir well, add some Peanut Butter (if yours came with it) and you have a type of pudding
Do the same with chile Mac and mix your salt packet with the grape cool-aid mix and make Gatorade. Always always always keep a can of Tony’s creole seasoning in the ruck. Never know when your gonna get screwed with a egg omelet MRE

Important point: carbon monoxide doesn't sink, it has the same density as nitrogen - i.e. same as ~80% of the air - so it will spread everywhere in the space you're in. It's carbon dioxide that is more dense.
@@Ventrue533 It's only slightly less dense than air of the same temperature, but since it's produced by combustion then it's initially going to be warmer than the surrounding air and that's the main reason why the ceiling is the best place for your alarm.

I well remember camping on Dartmoor in very primitive tents with the cadets years back & wonder what people are complaining about, I am sure British MREs have improved no end since then, however i looked up the price on eBay & now i wonder how they charge so much! British Police have become paramilitary social workers!
My favorite MREs were indeed the Norwegian arctic rations, specially the fish ones were great. I also enjoyed the Dutch 24h ration packs and controversially the British rat packs with the all-day breakfast and the sticky toffee pudding. Garbage, pound store tin level stuff, but a guilty pleasure. I still have a bunch of French RCIRs, and they are a bit more quirky with pheasant and venison with brandy pate etc. To me MREs are a window into a nations soul. You are what you eat after all.
Iv had this a few times....my family own a large piece of woodland and iv had police out when iv been shooting Squirrels.....not many people understand that its part of woodland management
I like learning about MRE's because they're what I think I'd like to include when making a month long home survival kit. Doesn't take up space, has it's own heating source, and in an emergency situation would feel like a real meal. But some are still better than others, and I learn best by seeing others use the product rather than the picture instructions.
MRE's...I was in the US Army in the 80's when they were still new-ish...NO heaters, godawful menus, had people medivaced after eating them because on occasion a bad batch would be issued. The new ones are amazing!
Great episode Mike. L o v e the tent... probably not the price. I'm an American veteran so I've had plenty of MRE's. My favorites are • Beef Stew • Mini Meatballs in Marinara sauce • Italian Sausage • Southwest Beef & Beans • BBQ Beef Strips. You got lucky with the heating bag... one out of 5 or 6 is a DUD. We also love the cheese spread packets (the bacon flavored). Beware of American MREs with Eggs. I haven't really had any other MREs except for the British (those ARE the best as far as taste, and all the extras tossed in... drink mixes, coffee, tea, cocoa, water purification tabs, lifeboat matches...) I was assigned to the HMS Amazon as liaison when she made Port of Call in the USA prior to Falklands Guardship duties in 1992. I've seen the French & Italian ones. I'll pass. The Italian MREs come with a miniature folding BCB stove (not the one you fold by hand, but an exact miniature of the regular BCB). Some have the low alcohol content aperitif. European MREs are expensive over here. Your police seemed to be decent enough. With all the "unrest" they have to be careful. Here in the States the U.S. Supreme Court is reviewing camping in public by the homeless. Many of our police treat homelessness as a crime. At least I can say that I didn't tolerate my officers to mistreat the homeless. Cheers... P.S. I went to the POMOLY website and this tent is under $200... $180 +/-. They offer a dozen different types and the $ range is from $180 to $ several hundred.
Great video, TA Outdoors: As a living historian who has to cook everything over a fire and go into battle for events. I never seem to get enough time to be able to get into period dress, for event scenario's, including cooking my meals and having time to eat them. Due to the amount of time that it takes to prepare a simple meal, no worries, have fun camping.
Wow, it wasn't clear in the short bit of footage you showed, but did the officers tell you they were filming you on their body cams before they went on to question you? I'm glad to see it was all handled in a nice way. Thank you for the great videos xx
I watch your (and others') camping content because I'm too disabled to go camping anymore, something I really loved to do but my body is just too broken after everything I've been through. If you want to try MREs, I say go for it. I've only ever tried a few and it's interesting to see all the different ones.
To put this in perspective though, you could go your entire life in the UK and not see firearms. It’s not maybe as rare in the countryside or farmland but I live surrounded by farms and it’s really not common. If you know, you know that guns in their carry bags are not really the MO of criminals. I would sooner the cops check than not though. It’s a very different set of circumstances here.
@@jonmoore873: Not entirely true. The police in Northern Ireland always have a side arm. At one time it was revolvers until they migrated onto semi-automatic pistols. Hey Mike, former U.S. military member (Air Force) here. A lot of times (in training) we weren't allowed to use the MRE heater because they stayed hot for so long and created a risk of fire, so we just had to get along with cold taco meat - or whatever else you happened to get for your meal. You can definitely use them more than once after they've been activated, so by all means heat up that rice, and the cheese too if you like! As for recommendations, it looks like MRE Mountain's site only has two that I'm reasonably certain I've had before - #17, Maple Pork Sausage Patty, and #24, Southwest Beef and Black Beans. Both excellent choices but if I was going to recommend just one I'd have to say try the Maple Pork Sausage!! Also, in case you haven't been turned on to this little secret - the best MRE item OF ALL TIME: the jalapeno cheese spread (check Menu #2). You're welcome ;)

I haven't had an MRE but a lot of time I've heard from different military personnel that the chilimac is a favorite. I don't know what menu number it is. As for your mattress problem, would the one you have fit inside your sleeping bag with you? It would kee you from rolling off if it's inside.
For me, this looks like a perfectly balanced, polite exchange caused by an overly concerned member of the public. It was dealt with very politely by both sides, and I sincerely hope that the Police dog had a sausage and that TAO now knows the local officers personally - this works best for the world and the rest of us. The Police haters out there might like to ask how they would have dealt with that if they were both parties. Top job Mike, and a great video too. Good to see the British cops are still friendly and polite dealing with the public rather than escalating it unnecessarily before they work out the situation. Great video.

It looks like a townie that's moved into your area, it's full of them where I live now! :(
Like here too.. People from the cities moved here, and complaining on everything :( Once a woman called the police on the red deers during rutting, because she thought it was someone drunk/drugged! Full of wealthy dumb arrogants, they ruined everything, and the local government just see the tax money from them. We have incidents every week, because these people can't rid off their selfish bumptious behaviour. The saddast point, the calm quiet little town now is like when the tourists come during summers, but they build big houses on every centimeters. A little forest nearby where I used to hang out with my friends 8 years ago, there are now 2 new streets with full of houses. There was a lot wildlife etc.. :( hate these times

In the capital, there are more and some areas are unsafe, but not as bad as there. Here is very safe, there is nothing to afraid of except the wild boars in the nature. That was a really interesting example of interaction with the local constabulary, Mike. No drama, just matter-of-fact. But the person who reported it must have been a little skittish to have done so. Not as if you and your dad had gone all tactical. Although I'd like to see your dad crawling around the woods 😂
The more rural rozzers tend to be a lot more sound.
The person who reported it probably thought they didn't " look British" so they were probably terrorists or illegals. Lot of racists in UK these days.

As I kid I use to explore everywhere in nature on other people’s land, fishing, building forts, camping overnight. My parents never thought it was wrong. Of course there’s different expectations for adults, but we need to get back to that kind of freedom and innocence.
Good luck tearing the kids away from their PlayStations et al. "Dad, why would go out camping when I can just sleep outdoors in Skyrim?"
@@rubenskiii that's the right answer
I was prior service US Army. This is what we used to do because eating MREs gets dull when you have them so often:
1. Get the Beef Stew MRE
2. Trade one of the other guys for their Cheese Spread pack (I used to trade the Charms candies for it)
3. Heat the Beef Stew and Cheese Spread together in the heater (FYI, we always filled that bag almost halfway with water, made heating faster and more consistent)
4. Open the Beef Stew pack along the long edge, pour in molten hot Cheese Spread, mix and enjoy (you can toss in Tabasco sauce at this point as well)
Magic setting that you’ve that space to play in. As a metal Detectorists I have 3000 acres to be alone in and it’s pure magic.

Important point: carbon monoxide doesn't sink, it has the same density as nitrogen - i.e. same as ~80% of the air - so it will spread everywhere in the space you're in. It's carbon dioxide that is more dense.
Carbon monoxide is lighter than air, it tends to rise, thats why you put the alarms on or close to the ceiling
@@Ventrue533 It's only slightly less dense than air of the same temperature, but since it's produced by combustion then it's initially going to be warmer than the surrounding air and that's the main reason why the ceiling is the best place for your alarm.

$180 +/-. Enough was enough = " Your trespassing with a motor vehicle and have rallyed round the field where kids are palying in the dark and it's not my law it's your's and iff you don't get that F+++G car off my field in 10 seconds i'm impounding and dissposing of it under the byelaws your putting up everywhere that says " any motor vehicles tresspassing will be seized and crushed . A lot of times (in training) we weren't allowed to use the MRE heater because they stayed hot for so long and created a risk of fire, so we just had to get along with cold taco meat - or whatever else you happened to get for your meal.
