I build a super inexpensive cabin on a very tight budget of just $7 using reclaimed materials and a few fasteners, bolts and threaded rod.
Join us as we show you how to build a tiny cabin in the woods for a super low cost. All this can be done with a drill and screws, or a hammer and nails, a handsaw, circular saw, or chainsaw. We will also build a table, chair, and full bed!
The cabin sleeps 1 comfortably, but it's possible to get one more. If no stove is necessary, it's super easy to get one more person inside the tent, but there needs to be enough space behind the stove so the plastic doesn't melt.
If you decide to build this shelter, be sure to keep safety in mind and use a smoke detector.

Earthen Stove is the term I think you were looking for. Going underground and going into the trees sounds great! An idea that came to me.. Underground bunker which is next to pond. It walls off the pond and is sealed with a viewing window of underwater in the pond. I know Chris will be into it haha

underground cabin have lto lot warm better than up to ground cabin and better make good.

I love watching you guys build things together and chat about the builds. Don's play button is totally epic!
Build Don's favorite, Butt & Pass method. It last longer than notched because it rots first with logs exposed more & real old log cabins are rotted at corners first. Build two stories above a basement/cellar. Use a pole at each inside corner and cross brace all four poles with cables. Use the top of each pole with block & tackle to raise each log. Drill each log above another log with half inch drill bit. Drill half way
or 6 inches ( which ever comes 1st) into lower log and drive a 1/2" rear into drilled holes. What do you think, an idea that you might use? Skip Ellsworth taught me that style.
