Very, very good analysis of why the Seiko 5 is ideal at leading a new watch person into acquiring more and more watches. And personally, I very much enjoy having, as a rough example, eight different $500 watches vs. just one $4000 watch. And that exact Seiko that you show in this video was indeed the beginning of my current watch hobby.

12:20 Just like with old cars, if you hear it runs better after adjusting the valves, changing the timing belt, changing the sparkplugs. Or bushings in the manual gearshifter mechanism making it shift better, it feels great. Because you did that, and it adds to what the car means to you.

Very true, I’m wearing my seiko snk809 as I order a laco from your eBay store. Ha.

This video explains very accurately why seiko 5s are important for the hobby and the community. Looking forward to see more videos like this from you! Also love the strap, have got a link for that strap?

Was just a random leather strap I found in a local watch repair shop. Was overpriced too, though it does look pretty nice. The buckle says "King straps."

The SNK 803 was my first automatic, too. It’s since been traded away, but I always think about re-buying it and putting it on the 809 bracelet.

SNK807j as my first mechanical and after that I bought the SNK809j on the bracelet. Everything went downhill from there. Almost bought all versions including the red one. But glad I didn't. The 807 tought me a lesson. I only need one of the same model. I used to think I liked blue watches. But black is now my favorite colour in diving, field and tooly watches.
