Exactly! Tho the only downside to indie animation is you gotta be EXTREMELY lucky to get the required funding to go full time but I'm super happy the campaign has already been fulfilled and we WILL be getting a full season!
Definitely a mercy for the indie-animation industries. Let’s just hope, in some degree, that this stays as it is now.

I remember seeing the Lackadaisy comic way back in the day and wondering why the hell isn’t this an animated series yet 😂

I was recommended the series a while back and when the plot was described to my I asked why it wasn’t a animated tv series as it seemed perfect for it. My friend event described it to me as sort of like Sherlock Hound but with cats

I wish Butler and Iron Circus the best. An animated indie series that is also a period piece is very unique. And also having the characters being anthropomorphic cats.

I’m impressed they got even the guns in the right era. Of course there’s the iconic Tommy gun but there’s also a 1911 pistol (made of course in 1911) and the M1918 BAR or Browning Automatic Rifle (made in 1918).
Side note, the use of the BAR is almost overkill, I mean, it shoots 30.06 Springfield ammo. And if you’re someone who faints at the mention of 5.56 (which you shouldn’t really, it was invented for small game like rabbits) then you’ll have a heartattack at how big the 30.06 Springfield is. It’s the same mammoth round the M1 Garand and the Springfield bolt action rifle shoot.
Yeah having the accurate guns for the time period is still so amazing and shocking at the same time
Tbh i thought it would take a while for lackadaisy to become an animated series, hell! I thought it would never happen, but now im soooo damn happy that it did.
I hope Ivy and her VA will get her streamily print....i want hers the most!❤❤

Fun fact, when the pilot was released. The Lackadaisy website crashed because it was overwhelmed by so many people reading the webcomic. The website is still functioning, so don't worry.
Also, be sure to check out the mini comics. They have some of them on their channel with voice acting.

It looks like the comics might be getting a main stream release in book form. Barnes and noble has them up for preorder I am going to see if I can get my local library to to buy copies

Lacakadaisy looks so smooth and amazing. I fell in love with the pilot and now I want to read the comic just so I can understand the story and see how the series branches out from there. Also I love the fact that season one is fully funded and how much love/support the series is getting since it is an indie series! It just makes me so happy to see all types of indie animations succeeding and getting the support they need in order to further grow their work. Also loved the video today and how its shows us a little insight on what is to come from this series and what we can expect when season one does drop so thank you for this!

I am constantly blown away by how good indie animation can look. It’s so often dismissed as inferior or not proper animation. It’s like how a lot of people don’t consider fanfic proper literature but both can be just as beautiful if not more than the “proper” stuff

I absolutely loved the short and am really looking forward to the first season! The character style reminds me of Cats Don’t Dance in a way. Anyone remember that movie?

I saw that movie in kindergarten. Though Lackadaisy, while not exactly an adult only property, is more geared to more mature audiences. Mostly because I think younger audiences would not understand it. But I guess some things in the comic and likely the show would be a little traumatic for preteens or younger. But, in my opinion, I think it would be fine for teens.
That movie is an underrated gem with fantastic songs

A little off topic but also fun fact. Vivzie, the creator of helluva boss and Hazbin Hotel donated $5,000 to fund the Lackadaisy episodes and Dana Terrace, creator of the owl house has shown her support for the show on her Twitter which I think is pretty cool.
That also means that Vivzie is going to be an Associate Producer on the project!

I have heard of projects not reaching their campaign goals yet still releasing their stuff. So I would only hope that the Lackadaisy folks would do the same.
Incorrect not at 1.5 mil but at least 1.3 million and only a week left to make it to 1.5 million for minisodes....sadly 2 million was too much for a blu ray and other features they shouldve put all that for 1.5 they were lucky to make it to a million and lets hope the dvd will still come!

I love Lackadaisy Mainly for the 1920s/30s style because I really like them time's heck I even own a suit I wear every now and then because I wonna stand out and say "Hey everyone I go my own way of Fashion and taste and if you have a Problem deal with it" so to say all in short I live in the 1920s/30s in the 2020s and on and on
I love the style as well from the clothes to the hairstyle and even the music all of it is just wonderful! This timeframe was the peak of society
I gotta say, even as a guy who generally doesn't like cats (Science has provided overwhelming evidence that they're evil) I still really liked the show. The animation is great, the setting is interesting, and the characters are wonderful! That's how you know you did a good job - when your character design charms people who wouldn't normally like the material.

Michael Kovach, every youtobe show that he appers in become bery popular... suspicious. So if any internet show creator is reading this, he already knows how to get popular. xD
Well, I think that is because a lot of the people behind indie animation are friends with one another or at least on good working terms. But yes, it is interesting that Kovach has voiced at least three major characters for three different shows respectively. I guess he is just that talented and charismatic.
He does do well when it comes to making a character feel alive. Also Lackadaisy is popular because of the performance and animation style along with just fans of the comic coming to support the animated series❤❤❤

This year has not been great for animation, Disney, DreamWorks, and Pixar have let down the fan bases. Disney’s remix suck, Pixar’s contact sucks now, and DreamWorks has really dropped the ball. Iron circus has come like the winged hussars Overhill to the save the date for us all.
