    After using this car for quite some time, i loved everything about here is what i think is missing. After switching from Reverse to Drive it should switch automatically to front cam. This middle mirror cam angle is a bit narrow, could have been a bit wider to cover part of blind spots. And new cars should have built-in dash cam!!!

    I recently purchased this. Same color and the exact same car. I got this more as a comfort car for me and my toddler son and for when we go on road trips. I previously had the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016 Laredo. So this one is an upgrade. I am short mama. 5’2. So far I like it. My spouse didn’t like the back captain seats said that they are smaller and are more like for children. Any body have these problems ??? But I really do love the red velvet of the car.

    Have same vehicle but with tan interior and split back rear seat.
    - Paint chipping has been troublesome but not horrible. The piano black console is ridiculous how it scratches. Could have easily installed a more rugged material that matches what a Jeep tries to convey.
    - Hate the ESS but am unwilling to install the hardware hack to disable it and don't like pressing the button every time I start the vehicle to temporarily disable it.
    - Had an Autel Scanner for prev car. Can't use it on the Jeep however since Stellantis implemented the Security Module supposedly so people can't steal the Jeep. Now if I need to read a code (haven't had to do so yet), I'll either have to purchase software key for $300 or so/year OR hack the Security Module under the glove box with an adapting cord.
    - Red Pearl coloring is outstanding and Jeep drives great. All in all, glad I bought so far. Have about 25K miles on it now.
    - Bought the Jeep OEM heavy duty rubber mats for the front and WeatherTech mats for the cargo area. That was a mistake. The WT mats are plasticky to me and were really expensive. So many other laser mats avail now for much cheaper.
    - Thought it was cheap that I had to buy my own engine cover since the Ltd does not come with it.
    - I'm getting a consistent 25MPG on highway if I keep it at 70 or under so that's better than my prev ML350 Benz.

    The button for rear lift gate is a learning curve but you get used to it. What I do like and owners with low garage doors will too. The lift gate can be set to lift at less than full open. I set mine to about two thirds of the way by power and manually raise the rest….prevents from garage door panel hinges scratching the lift gate paint. I do wish it had separate glass but oh well.
    The buttons in the center stack above the infotainment screen are a really big ….Zonk”…..switches work but very very poor background lighting so at night it becomes a matter of….how many switches are there and how to count the buttons for each function….hopefully your right.

    I bought my 2021 jeep grand cherokee l in July and just hit 5k miles. I've read about numerous system issues with this vehicle for some people. I am only having 2 issues so far. First issue is android auto keeps disconnecting and reconnecting while in use. It's annoying especially when playing music and it'll disconnect every 15 or 20 minutes but then immediately reconnects. Second issue is with engine stop/start feature. First few months I would have to press button each and every time to deactivate the feature and now my car engine never stops at all. Not sure how it completely disactivated itself entirely. The start stop was annoying but I did like having the option to decide if I wanted it on or off. My jeep decided for me. Lol..

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, sounds like you need to have some warranty work on that start/stop. You can configure many things in the system setup. Maybe look there first. I can’t say that I have had this issue. I like the stop/start and I just leave it on all the time with the exception of when it rains because the windows fog if the engine stops.
      As for the android auto issues, I have had some glitches as well with car play but they seem to be related to apps and system communications. Things developers need to address in coding more so then a car problem. I hope you find some solutions as patches are released that solve your issues.

    1 thing I will say as an owner of this Cherokee L limited 3.6l, is I'm returning mine, I've had mine for 6 months now and put 11,000 miles on it and I'm sick of all the problems I've been having, from the power steering going out, headlights flickering, front collision detection system failing in the rain and in the car wash, the side mirrors make an awfully loud howling noise at any speed 40+ mph, I've had the heater control replaced 2x, now a rotten egg smell from the exhaust, and worst of all the radio has been replaced 5x now and it still freeze's up on a regular basis, not allowing me to control anything from the 8.5" screen and Chrysler has no guaranteed fix for any of these issues, in the 6 months and 11,000 miles I've had mine it has spent 49 days total at the dealership.

      The built in safety features , while making it safer, can add some frustration. If a door is ajar, seat belt not buckled and/or foot not on the break peddle, it will keep the break on. For example, let’s say you just want to move the car around a small bit in your driveway, a parking lot/space, a garage or whatever it if the door is ajar or seatbelt not buckled it buts the break on and won’t move until you over ride the system an manually turn it off. As silly as this sounds, it just seems to catch you at frustrating times because it can’t read your mind LOL! I hope this description is helpful.

      That I can and will do. Give me a couple months and the miles will be there. Here’s to hoping for continued good results!
      For the size, it rides and corners very nicely. Happy so far! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!

    Does your vehicle have the optional air suspension?

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, we did not get the air suspension in ours. It is a standard setup.

      @@QuickShifts I am considering buying and am trying to understand if the air suspension is a worthwhile option. I do not use for off reading and really only want if it will smooth out the ride like a Mercedes Benz . Every video I have seen so far uses the air suspension for off roading and it seems amazing.

      @@really9025 the air suspension is a nice to have feature. It does allow you to raise and lower the vehicle which has its advantages. But it has some drawbacks too. It comes at an extra cost, adds more weight to the vehicle, adds additional complexity and another possible failure point. It’s too early to say anything about reliability so I don’t want to knock it. For us, we just didn’t want to spend the extra money on it for how we use the vehicle. Very pleased with the ride without it.

      @@QuickShifts Thanks your prompt response. It would be great to get your comments if you ever get the opportunity to try out the air suspension. I am only interested in the shorter version and perhaps the hybrid. I understand both have been significantly delayed due to the chip shortage. Look forward to your update. Cheers!

    How did you experience the leg space for the driver? I'm also a big guy, and when I sat in the car once, in the store, my right knee kept bamping the console which made the driver leg space feel a bit small, something I don't currently have with my 2019 GC. I'll be happy to hear your experience.

    • @QuickShifts

      The closer to the dash you have the seat, the more you want to naturally bow your legs out and rub the center counsel. The further you put the seat back the straighter you have your legs and the more space you have. That being said, it’s relative to where you like to keep your seat position to be comfortable. If I have a car full of adults, I may move the seat up a bit and my knee may touch the counsel, but it doesn’t bother me any. My natural seating position it’s not an issue at all. I’ve done some long trips already and not been bothered. But to be honest, I like to have a cockpit like feel. Hope that’s helpful

    I really wish they would have a dual outlet exhaust...without it just doesn't look right.

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They tuck the exhaust up under the bumper so it’s not that noticeable. Knowing FCA though, I am sure a V8 variant is just around the corner and with that we will get the dual exhaust. Maybe I’ll crawl under this thing to see how much room it has under there for fitment. Now I’m curious. 🤣

    I am currently having the 2020 regular Grand Cherokee (Limited trim). I am wondering if it worth to upgrade to the L, beside the new look, does the car handle batter?

    • @QuickShifts
      @QuickShifts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It handles better, has more room and the upgraded infotainment. 2020 GC are nice SUVs though. Tough call to change it up right now in todays market.
