    Nice review just picked up my 2023 Altitude L 4x4 and love it. The Captain chairs actually can move back and provide amazing space. Choose the reliable V-6 which is plenty of power. The 8.4inch screen is enough and yes I only have six speakers but the sound system is just right. Got mind for 4k less than MSRP with white color. Love my blacked out factory emblems , grill, and wheels. The Altitude is the best model in my opinion. Don’t need all those driving modes lol… this is an family vehicle not and off road king. It can do some basic off road but, most I have seen are on the streets. The car drives a little better than my old 2016 Durango in my opinion. I have seen higher end models but, they don’t look as good and really don’t justify the high price. I don’t need 360 camera … lol I know how to drive. I use to own a 2015 Platinum Escalade so I know what it’s like to have all those high features but, most you don’t even use. This thing is a great grocery getter and basic needs especially with 6200 pounds of towing for most people needs. Gas is great too.

    Although its big Muscle SUV but Since I own one JGC - L Overland 2021 , few small but very important flaws of this vehicle
    1. Safety features - Super bad, Automatic Emergency Braking ( AEB ) and Pedestrian Emergency Braking ( PEB ) does not work 9 out of 10 times, so you can not make any mistake that the safety features won't help you anytime. I already raised to Jeep Wave Case ID and reported to NHTSA about this. NHTSA safety rating yet to published for this vehicle.
    2. Small but very important - Gas Fill Door / Gas Cap - does not have Lock. so, when you lock your vehicle , any one can access to your gas tank and You are gone with Sugar ** , How can we avoid public parking areas , we can not keep vehicle in Home Garage only.
    Jeep has to think - not everyone is trustworthy in public parking. A $65K vehicle can be vandalize just using a cup of Sugar & a funnel.
    3. Interior Design - it look luxurious but with bad geometry , longest vehicle in its class - 205" long , 78" wide, but Cargo space less than a SUV of 195" long ( comparing with Telluride, Highlander, Ascent , Explorer etc ). Badly use of space, with 205" long, if vehicle interior done in a very smart and intelligent way, it can give big cargo space and can win the race with its competitors.
    4. Mobile App "Jeep" - is only a Paid Subscription, ( complimentary 3 months ), now a days every other company providing at least a year or multi year subscription. Well, yes, a person who can buy $65K , can buy few hundreds bucks of subscription as well. But Jeep has to achieve that level of Super Luxury , Super HiTech to get such respect.
    5. Super bad Resale market value - JGC depreciate very badly, compare to its competitors. First 2 years it will depreciate by 40% of the vehicle value , that's too bad for a brand like Jeep.
    Anyone planning to buy - please consider these above points , if you feel above points are important for you, think twice before you buy.

    instead of a V8 that produces a mediocre 357 HP and 390 lb-ft torque with a horrible 17 miles/gallon combined city/highway, Jeep should just give it a turbocharged engine, with a lot more power and also a lot better fuel efficiency. Volvo's 2.0L I-4 produces more HP with its turbos than the V6 here, and its 2.0L I-4 combined with an electric motor produce way more HP and torque than the V8 here, also with a much better fuel efficiency rating.

    So if i ever get something from gm and heavy i would never ever get anything other then big engine hemi or whatever must be 4.8 and up

    It looks nice but unless you truly need a 4x4 that’s comfortable, you’ll be better off with a Telluride, Palisade or something comparable for far less money. My 2021 Palisade Limited FWD has comparable features, more interior space and only cost $46,460. Price is going to be Jeep’s problem. It may look luxurious but it has yet to prove that it’s worth the price increase.

    • @Icetillidie
      @Icetillidie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is true, for families that are looking for a functional reliable 3 row, the competition is better with price and features. What jeep will win with, and was part of the reason we got one to replace our explorer, is the family that want something less common. We would have chose the palisade or telluride, but they are everywhere.

If Chrysler wanted a luxury SUV, they should have made it a Chrysler brand. Piano black needs removed from all cars. It's ugly and always looks dirty. I believe there are much better options than this Jeep, especially in the price range.

    Hello Prime Autotainment. Good video highlighting the pros and cons for the new fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L. As for the cons I'm on agreeable terms with you that the use of the piano black was a little too much. I assume Jeep did it like this to go with the flow based on what they saw from the third row seating luxury mid-size SUV competitors. in general piano black aka gloss black is a prime indicator of luxury. In the center console area where the switches and dial shifter are, the use of some kind of metal finish could've been used or a combination of a little piano black and some metal finishes. Maybe in a mid-cycle refresh of this fifth generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L we could see that or if not maybe they'll do something like that for the next generation sixth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The price points is a pinch too high, but still less the competitors. The rest of the vehicle is good. I'm glad Jeep has two engine powertrains to choose from right outta the gate. As we all know few more powertrains are on the way starting later on this year and continuing on next year. That 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine is the one to get now. It's optional on the three top tier trims Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve. I think Jeep should've made that engine standard on the Summit Reserve trim since that's the highest trim level out of the six, but that's just my opinion. Not sure if anyone else would agree on that. Like the previous four generation Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles, this new fifth generation will also do well in sales. This vehicle along with the Jeep Grand Wagoneer will make bold statements across the board. Will be interesting.

    How is this overland 66k, I found so many summit trims for that price. Also why does this Overland model have auto brake hold button next to the four-wheel-drive love button and other overland and summit models do not.

      Adding all the packages. I got my overland to this price. I honestly think the only difference between my overland and what a summit can have is that the summit I think you have the assistant parking and how the interior seats color & stitching style.
