Im a glory fan, I still to this day don't think it was a penalty but Brisbane did win, what an amazing game, and it really was an amazing finals series for Perth, will never forget that season and this game!
As a Roar fan yeah, me too. I don't think it was a penalty, but the ref can always only go off what he sees. Even when penalties are against us, I can always understand that the Ref can only see what they sees. It's sometimes good, it's sometimes shit
I'm a glory fan and you're completely right. The penalty should have never been awarded, he was offside as well, but a man down heading into extra time, we were never going to win it. It just disappoints me that we lost like this.
That is true, I was there at the game and the atmosphere was fantastic! The only thing that made the night sour was the penalty. Would have been much better if it ended differently.
If you think this was not a penalty watch @7:23 in .25 speed and you'll see Berisha's left leg get kicked out of position before he stands on it, causing the air swing. Props to the ref for making a brave and correct call.
Clear penalty. Watch from 7:22 . Slow it down. The player slide tackles from behind, in the box, nowhere near the ball. He knew what he was doing. He makes enough contact to visibly shift Berisha's leg. The leg he is about to plant before taking the shot. Not only is there contact, but the contact affects his planting leg, which causes him to miss the shot.
"The grand final goes according to form" - That's all that needs to be said. I saw 2 highlights in this video for Perth, one being an own goal off what was a nothing cross that in most circumstances would've been collected by the 'keeper. They didn't even show the sending off offence? Perth supporters can't claim to have been robbed, you never had anything in the first place - and lets face it, you would've needed a miracle to pull it off. That said, I wish it never ended like this.
It didn't make much sense for Berisha to dive when he was one on one with the keeper like that, but it was clearly not a penalty. However he might have taken a dive since the ball was out of range for him to take a good shot. That or he missed the shot entirely and slipped. Either way, no penalty.
Wasn't a penalty but it wasn't a dive. You could see Berisha had lost his balance just before and when he went through he must of lost his balance again and air swinged. Although there was contact between Berisha and the Perth Player. (Shown in a fox sports reply). - Brisbane fan
Mate, there's no 'air-swing' momentum involved at all. He fucked up his shot, knew he did, and immediately dropped to the floor. Cheeky bastard that Berisha.
Okay...I am a Brisbane fan and at first from where I was sitting in the crowd it looked like a penalty. Then once I saw the replay on the big screen I could admit that it was a dive and it shouldn't have been a penalty. But then when I got home and watched the reply over and over you can see that the Perth defender clips his ankle which pushes his foot forward making it touch the ball and bobble. If the ball had not bobbled Besart wouldn't have missed the ball.
WRONG! Frame by frame in HD shows no contact possible because of the timing of the swinging foot with the point at which contact is supposed to have occurred. In case you're wondering, no, I am not from Perth, am not a Glory Fan, or even a keen follower of football. He had a swing & missed, so he took a dive. You've been had by a consummate "performer". Don't worry, it happens to the best of us.
Not a fan of either team, but penalty decision was 100% correct call. I remember at the time screen grabbing the video and watching it back frame by frame. Berisha's boot was clearly caught by the challenge causing him to lose his step and go down.
as a roar fan I've now watched this about 50 times now, from the angle of the shot, yes berisha is offside, but was there a perth player keeping him in the clear from the bottom right of the "offside" in question, if there wasn't then yes its offside, but for everyone screaming their lungs out offside offside think of what wasn't seen in the shot...
Definitely a penalty. Berisha had it under control and is skilful, he only missed it completely cause his left leg was knocked onto his right leg putting him well off balance.
Berisha's rear foot was tapped by Perth defender putting Berisha off balance thus the air swing. You have to watch in slow motion, his rear foot, just tapped ever so slightly. Ref was correct, the rest is history. Without the tap he wld have scored anyway. I was in the top tier of Suncorp with my son !! Great atmosphere!!
yer. but when does it stop. the domino effect i mean. you said "...the Perth defender clips his ankle which pushes his foot forward making it touch the ball and bobble". Clipping his foot did not make him fall... right. In reality if he was truly tripped he should not have even got a swing in... he should have been on the floor immediately after contact. it was only after he swung he tripped over, which means the swing must have been the result of the fall. not the contact...
During the game, I didn’t care about it cause we won but now looking back on it. It’s just Berisha doing his usual trick. We should not have been awarded that penalty. Berisha could have scored properly. Had VAR been around back then, it probably would be have been overturned.
Added time is always a minimum smart guy. If the ref feels there has been time wasting by the goalie for example, extra time will not stop exactly at the end. Offsides are missed all the time...get real. PG was in the Grand Final due to a missed offside. How many people do you see up in arms about that? So learn your facts. And, all of the sports Authorities in AU have agreed it was a penalty.
For all the Brisbane people u are so happy, your lucky. No penalty cause yes he did touch his foot but he fell over after he swung at the ball. Didn't fall of when the other guy touched his foot. I don't care I'm a victory supporter and smashed u 4-0
A-League - Enthusiastic amateurs. Some of the high-school level mistakes in every A-League game played are amazing, the coaches really need to take some pointers from European match videos. That penalty at the end.. what the fuck was that no-one touched him
To me, Roar fans were losers on this night as well. Instead of enjoying their back to back Championships, they are still defending their title with naysayers, almost a year on. What a pity for them...
Some people really need to actually read up on the LAWS of this game. If a player is tripped in the box, or an ATTEMPT is made to trip a player in the box, a penalty is warranted. Really, all of your ignorance is very embarrassing. Either way, a penalty was warranted.
Yes because Perth were definitely on track to pull a win out out their arse! No shots on goal at all and the only "goal" they scored was a own goal off Franic! The ultimate irony now is that the Perth player (Miller) who caused the penalty now plays for Brisbane!
Mombassa, You need to get your eyes checked the contact is clearily visible to those that have an occipital lobe that functions. Maybe you should have a check of your frontal lobe at the same time. This has probably gone right over your head anyway.
Im a glory fan, I still to this day don't think it was a penalty but Brisbane did win, what an amazing game, and it really was an amazing finals series for Perth, will never forget that season and this game!

Trent Manucho hey I’m a great Brisbane roar fan I think it should don’t be a penalty he milk that will it was a really good game tho
Trent Manucho and also that’s why he went to Melbourne milkers
As a SFC fan I hate seeing this, that was almost as bad as Australia vs Italy in 2006 XD
Trent Piccicacco 😎
I'm a glory fan and you're completely right.

That's how Berisha rolls. He is confident and cocky but he backs it up with mad skills.
If you think this was not a penalty watch @7:23 in .25 speed and you'll see Berisha's left leg get kicked out of position before he stands on it, causing the air swing. Props to the ref for making a brave and correct call.
He copletely misses him are you watching a different thing mate
@@isaacrodgers3868 Apparently not, because I can see clear contact that knocks Berisha's left leg causing it to unnaturally step inward.
@@danbadd Yeah you might of seen that but it is a shit angle to be judging on contact. it's an airswing
@@isaacrodgers3868 it's a cheap foul but still technically a foul.
@@jpdprophotography6693 no its not, he took a dive
i love this game!! i went on the field during the first half break

Dive everyday of the week.
Yeah you're right, but watching it at that speed kills me cause of stoned the commentary sounds 😂
I loved watchin this live at suncorp:) best experience that iv ever had
Well, I wont speak for all of them, but there are definitely a couple that share my sentiments.
so great there

4:44 Why does Shane Smeltz's shirt say "Amplett" at the back??
Lovely to see Ferguson’s face at the end⚽️😂⚽️😂⚽️
His name is Besart, Besart Berisha, Oh he is mental, and he is mad. He is the greatest, centre forward, that the roar, has ever had.
Where are all those Brisbane Roar now !!!!
I wish Brisbane stilled played in Brisbane...
Even though the penalty was questionable, Brisbane Roar were all over the Glory the entire game. Roar deserved to win.
as a roar fan I've now watched this about 50 times now, from the angle of the shot, yes berisha is offside, but was there a perth player keeping him in the clear from the bottom right of the "offside" in question, if there wasn't then yes its offside, but for everyone screaming their lungs out offside offside think of what wasn't seen in the shot...
Berisha is the most unsportsmanlike person
i was there brilliant game
I was at the game and when Berisha went down it was so loud i couldn't hear my self think
when he got injured in the first half, blood spilt on his jersey, so they Perth just gave him another one, and it had Amplett written on it
what game were you at
Not the actual Andrezinho who plays for perth ?
Definitely a penalty. Berisha had it under control and is skilful, he only missed it completely cause his left leg was knocked onto his right leg putting him well off balance.
berisha come to milaan need a finisher like u
Cool bro
Weather it was a dive or not, it was pretty cocky of him to celebrate before taking the kick.
I am a Brisbane fan and I think it was a dive but Perth glory a 10 players and Brisbane had a way better season so they would have won in extra time.
your point?
I know i'm a roar fan, but I think perth should have won.
zero shots on target, down to 10 men. how were they winning in extra time exactly :-)
Damn I was so young when I commented that I had no idea what I was talking about
The ref should have blown the whistle they were in their own half when the stoppage time was up
Andrezinho?
It had already passed the 94th minuet so the ref should have blown the full the time whistle and also softest penalty ever
RedBull Rebel I’m a roar fan and I agree
100%
No because the ball was in the final third witch means they were on the attack.but wasn’t a penalty

No i think im right on this occation mate!
Please enlighten me as to what the rule is?
You can't add extra time to injury time. U MAD?
Good call ref. The Perth player just clipped Berishas ankle.
yer. but when does it stop. the domino effect i mean. you said "...the Perth defender clips his ankle which pushes his foot forward making it touch the ball and bobble".
Clipping his foot did not make him fall... right.

it was only after he swung he tripped over, which means the swing must have been the result of the fall. not the contact...
i dont support perth glory but how the hell was that a penalty please explain? no contact was made
It was offside, but for the linesman to see that, it is almost impossible
Are there*
No dive, complete miss hit, he should not have appealed for a pen anyway.
I get so nervous watching this every time.....FUCK I LOVE FOOTBALL!
umad?
nice stadium
LOL all along i thought you were the first guy soz dude :D

HAHAHA Besart Berisha LEGEND Bravo je ma i miri
WHAT??? watch it again mate his ankle gets touched which in turn touches the ball and it bounced out of the way

errr I'm actually not... I go for Sydney if you haven't noticed my profile pic.
if only VR was available...
still sore?
An entire grand final ruined by a blatant dive... Thank goodness we now have VAR
come on brisbane
I don't really follow the a league coz i'm an afl fan but why do people hate berisha?
Notice how. He's offside
True
Berisha knew he dived look at his reaction after the penalty was given. If the glory player actually made contact he probably would of stayed down
that wasnt even a penalty. it should not have been awarded.
It was a penalty.
Hands dragging opponents parts is a foul 10 out of 10 times
Inside the box it's an easy decision
i never said anything was wrong with it but u said it in an offensive way so yeah
If you think that wasn't a penalty you are deluded, you also support Manchester United so that removes all doubt
Ref won ref of the year and then lost his job!
A-League - Enthusiastic amateurs. Some of the high-school level mistakes in every A-League game played are amazing, the coaches really need to take some pointers from European match videos. That penalty at the end.. what the fuck was that no-one touched him
hahaha berisha what a F A I L XD. i'm lying on the floor laughing out loud!
If i was the ref i would of given him a card for diving there was nothing in that at all
PHHH 4 extra minutes and berisha scores on 97 O _ O
cool story. people who dont accept brisbanes victory: the 9 other teams. people who think it was legitimate: brisbane fans. you lose
It was a 50 50 call by the ref unlucky for Perth
It wasn't a 50 50 call. he took a dive
The ref should have blown the whistle @94:00, not wait till a penalty came. The ref was biased cos his gf is a Roar staff member.
you dont pay that penelty in the 90th minute mark of a level gf . you just dont.
It was a penalty because it would’ve been a foul anywhere else on the field.
It was a penalty because he was pushed of balance therefore couldn’t take a good shot
Berisha forever!!!
Victory fan..ah, well that explains alot.
there's this called being a "good sport" berisha knew it was an airswing comeon
Estou jogando com esse time no FIFA 2012, que time ruim, só o Broich e o goleiro jogam bem
vukovic, call him a goalie
one of the worst penalties I have seen,he unbalanced himself pushing the defender back
Brisneyland :)
To me, Roar fans were losers on this night as well. Instead of enjoying their back to back Championships, they are still defending their title with naysayers, almost a year on. What a pity for them...
Calm down it was just a question. I did watch the game and your rude.
they shouldnt of had too, not a pen.
um no he wasn't offside.
I'm not a Perth glory supporter but if I was a glory player I would of punched the referee
Some people really need to actually read up on the LAWS of this game. If a player is tripped in the box, or an ATTEMPT is made to trip a player in the box, a penalty is warranted.
Really, all of your ignorance is very embarrassing. Either way, a penalty was warranted.
Gypsy Berisha now going to play for a gypsy team
If you think that was a penalty then you are deluded
If vukovic went the right way it was a simple save. That was one of the shittest penalties I've ever seen go in.
Yes because Perth were definitely on track to pull a win out out their arse! No shots on goal at all and the only "goal" they scored was a own goal off Franic! The ultimate irony now is that the Perth player (Miller) who caused the penalty now plays for Brisbane!
