    Today I snow-checked a Catalyst 858 154 3.0. With electric start. :) Next season I'll see how it compares to my '23 Khaos 850 165.

@@brentcook24 Of course!! My last sled was a 2005 M7 and (at the time) it was amazing. I'm still trying to figure out how to ride my Khaos. I'm trying to figure out how much of my problem is ME versus how much is the sled.

My 2019 ctec 800 cat was just a powerful as my 2022 850 khaos. Thinking the 858 will be like the 9r with even more kick. If cat would offer the twin rail I would go back to cat.

I have over 4000 miles on 2023 XCR 850 with ZERO issues and I ride harder than 99.9% of people out there.
2021-2022 had some issues, but things have improved no doubt.
Meanwhile, Doo seemed to be having the most problems this winter. They're all great when they run great but none of them are immune.

You guys hit the nail on the head!!! They all got their problems!!! I think if you could take something from all three manufacturers ( cat, doo, polaris) you could have one hell of a sled. I'm a cat guy at hear there's always a lot of hate Towards cat and a lot of biased Towards them, but I getit I also feel they are falling behind. I feel doo and polaris are leaving them in the dust!!. And I'm honestly thinking of a doo back country xrs r. Or a polaris switchback 850 turbo, but the Unreliability of players right now and the black plague of recalls has me sucking guessing that option.

I snow checked a new cat base model alpha all black upgraded to the Garmin G8, front bumper and aluminum running boards. 18,048 plus tax. I’m also going to run the fox QR3 coil over shocks so roughly 19-19,500$

Also tiaga have trail sleds and I believe mountain as well but only available out of the states. I work at steamboat powersports and we took delivery of a few that customers have ordered through tiaga. So they do exist. lol

I always debate a 165 or 155, would be cool to see a 160” 2.75. Something in the middle

    • @robgoffroad
      @robgoffroad 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Not needed, IMO. If you ride deep a lot and are an "average" level rider, consider the 165 just for the flotation. Otherwise, the 155 is probably best unless you're in Colorado's sugar snow. Even Chris Burandt prefers the 165. My Khaos is a 165 2.75... the Catalyst 858 I ordered is a 154 3.0.

I don't see the appeal to mtn riding at all. It's like the purple hair of snowmobiling. major TPS!
    Ski-doo is so ugly=pug
    polaris is ugly and unreliable
    buy Arctic Cat.
Old sleds pre 2006 are and will always be the best. I hate rider forward hurts my knees, hips and back.
I won't buy a new sled until they bring back comfort riding positions and 2 stroke triples. There will only be 2 distributors moving forward lets say in 5-7 years and both suck imo.
Winters suck past few years and sleds are way too expensive. Mtn riding I have zero interest in=TPS.
Snowmobiling is a dying sport, they have pushed a segment of the sport out by focusing on the crossover/mtn=TPS segments and it will be there failure.
Trail riding is king and the lack of focus to innovate sleds for comfort and reliability is hurting the industry, and stupid high prices.
The most reliable sleds are on there way out,Yamaha 4 strokes. there is a reason there resale is so good and it's only going to get better.
At this point my interest in new sleds is zero. No character anymore. Artic Cat make some 2 stroke triples you will win the market!
