    Good summary of the issues. I think liability drives this. What would you do if you ran Polaris? Same thing, right? As a rider, I just ignore til the off-season and get em all done at once. I think they're going to work on reliability, as in, what hi-tech is left to innovate? Seriously, I might be tempted by a better turbo, and please polaris, sell doo the rights to use that group ride gps map thing.

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree.They really need to sell those rights to ski-doo and cat so all of the riders can locate each other not just Polaris. But I do understand why they wouldn't want to do that.

    I want to buy my first sled this summer. Would I be better off buying a summit because of all the problems with Polaris or is it not that big of a deal? I’ve ridden both and I like them both.

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you like them both I would lean to what you can find the best deal on. I prefer the Polaris at this point so for me I deal with some of the problems because of how good the chassis is in my opinion. But if you like both just try to find the best deal as well as a being close to that dealer if you do have problems! Thank you for watching!!

    Good on you for questioning whether there is an underlying adgenda going on.

    Ive owned 2 Polaris snowmobiles. A 99' XC 500 and a 2020 XCR 800. With approximately 5000mi between the 2, ive never had a single problem. They were both solid, reliable machines. There was a recall on my 2020 machine but it was fixed off-season. Watching videos like this, I cant deny Polaris' issues and also issues in the past. Maybe I was just lucky? Truth be told, if I were to buy a new sled this season, I'd probably look at Ski-Doo or the new AC Catalyst.

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had very few issues with Polaris as well and I believe that right now they have the best chassis. That is why I stick with them but I do understand a lot of other people are having major problems!

    I have 2 2022 matryx 850 155’s a pro and a Khaos. I’ve had all the recalls done except the clutches. We are going to enjoy our machines this winter and fix off season. Sick of Polaris’ shit

  • @adammcmahon7135
    @adammcmahon7135 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So I need the clutch recall done on my khaos. Dealer says the parts are back ordered. Do you think Polaris is putting these new clutches in the new sleds so they can sell them? That’s why parts are back ordered? If that’s the case I would be pissed! I believe they should deal with the people that have already spent money on these machines. I feel like Polaris should do anything possible to get these customers on the snow. I called Polaris to see if they can do anything for the inconvenience. Couldn’t even get a sweatshirt out of them. Super frustrating. Thanks for the video… shit just doesn’t make sense.

    BTW I had a terrible experience with Ski-Doo... I started out with a 2003 Summit ("REV") and it was a massive POS. The motors were failing left and right, the quality of the aluminum was very poor.

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's interesting because it seems like so many people have a had a bad experience on almost every brand if they have been riding for a long time. I think they are all pretty good now it's just personal preference.

  • @Bowknows
    @Bowknows ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If I’m not mistaken muskoka freerider blew 3 clutches on his 9R but with new sleds they have lightened clutches so much to make them work better there is no material left for strength!! Think they need to go away from aluminum and look into titanium!! Probably harder on the wallet to start but would pay off on longevity

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya I have heard that they lightened up the 9r clutches a lot and people are having problems with durability. I can't speak too much on the 9r as I have never owned one but ya they need to do something to strengthen all of those parts. With this much power and the price tag we need stronger parts!!

    I feel like the polar brake “fix” with the detuning is causing more problems. Especially at night on the trail ride home. No me of course, but I’ve heard of guys just unplugging the brake switch and you can drag brake all day. But that doesn’t allow the brake light to work. Which is actually very handy to have at night. What do you think about that?

  • @robgoffroad
    @robgoffroad ปีที่แล้ว

    I just got a '23 Khaos Slash 850 and interestingly enough, my VIN doesn't show up on the recall list. The only recall it had were the silly handlebar hooks. Mine also has electric start. Here's what would make me jump: Inability to get the parts or service that I need in a timely fashion. As long as the machine is available when I need it, and doesn't fail and leave me stranded, I will be understanding. Otherwise, I'll jump ship, likely back to Arctic Cat.

  • @509Jedi
    @509Jedi ปีที่แล้ว +1

    All of the OEMs have their issues. I ordered a ‘23 Shredder RE last year. Showed up 1/31/23. Why buy ‘new sled’ when the MY24 came out two weeks later? Just order a MY24 and not pay on soemthing all summer!🤘🏼

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree 100% the only problem is if the next order is as late as the one before then you end up without a new sled for the next season. I don't know what to think anymore. It seems completely ridiculous that it has been this long since COVID and they still can't get production back on track. Hopefully they get it right this year!!

    Had a 2023 Polaris Adventure. Paid cash in September of 2023, went to ride it first snow in January 2024 brand new, went 27 miles and it stopped running. Got towed ( hours) Bought in PA. Dealer said if I drove it back to him he could work on it. 8 hrs. Took it to New York dealer said he would not work on it since I did not buy from him. Called Polaris, wrote letters Polaris said they look into it. Well we ride upstate new york so snow is limited, ended up trading Adventure for xc 2023, cost me 2500.00 difference in price for less sled. No oil in crank case cover is what made it stop working... Polaris treated me like a jerk! I am passed upset, so I am selling all my sleds! Side by side.. anything with a polaris logo is going!

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is not good. I don't blame you... I wonder if the dealer forgot to put oil in it because I don't think Polaris ships units with any fluids at all in them.

    This is not a new problem with Polaris .We had a buddy with polaris around 2008 that was running out of room under the hood for recal stickers and then he bough other sleds and blew several up and still bought more them .Trying to justify a poor company is just bad but he i watched it for 33.14 minutes .I live in cananda and have no brand loyalty and we are covered up with ski doos and they just run better than polaris by far .I went back to a 650 this year because its much lighter than my 900 ace

  • @jaco177

    as long as people continue to line up to buy polaris sleds then polaris has no incentive to improve.

    thats super BS that they would do this, rally car drivers throttle clutch and brake too keep rpms and boost up. Motorcycles same thing, trail braking in corners maintaining a certain level of throttle. Its more of an advanced maneuver but its something you should be able to do once youre able to perform it. Sound like a bandaid they did instead of fixing the actual problem.

    I have a 15 pro and a 22 pro with 4k miles combined and both have been reliable and fun sleds but this recall bs coupled with them being more worried about getting the 24s out instead of fixing the 2 years worth of sleds that they've already sold with issues is really getting old.
