For once when I see a car from this time era for sale at a somewhat high price I've gotta say this one one is worth the 8900$,, these were truly fun cars! And this one looks like the real deal! Nice video!
Very nice car, even the voice still works. Those wheels are referred to as the Swiss Cheese wheels, the ones the holes just around the perimeter of the wheel were called the pizza rim. The tough part is to find the missing belt trim around the marker lights.
when you popped that hood i had a rush of old memories ...ive done a ton of timing belts,cylinder heads and k frame swaps on those cars back in the day....even repaired a few strut towers
My uncle had turbo but his front bumper had a lower lip on the front. My uncle's was a black on black white stripe . I'm 100 percent sure my uncles had a lower front lip than this one. Wheels are supposed to be more shiny, more of a chrome look. Nice video love this car . great memories.
My dad had a 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z that was black with gray interior and it had the regular dash and no EVA Voice Alert system, just a regular chime.
Had this car , turbo went out in it around 75k probably due to cars didn't have bov's early on ,,, had reddish black interior same as this one but red that was very similar to the paint which was the same as this one ( oddly guy says it was rare paint color but when this was new it's basically the only color I noticed around where I lived ) after market louvers were essential for this car due to that massive back window just eating the sun rays for breakfast and shining straight down on dark carpet,,,, biggest selling point was the night rider-esk talking computer that was huge in 84 n 85 ,,,,,cool review and lucky new owner (by now) hope they keep it up as nice as this example 👍
My aunt had one. She hated it. The talking diagnostic system was a bit too ambitious for Chrysler in the early 80s. To be honest, I have to say it made an impression on me though. I remember the wheels, with what reminded me of golf ball dimples, the dash, and even the little cargo net. I guess I was 5 or 6 years old, and I have no idea why my aunt was even driving me around. It was red, but maybe not the same red as that one.
Paint looks good but my dad took his down to SC and it bleached terribly and very quickly! He needed to replace the computer 3-4 times. Luckily he was a mechanic and could do it himself.

I had an 84 black laser with checkerboard interior. Car was ahead of its time back then. Loved that turbo whistle!
I had one too. Bought in 87. Mine was gun metal blue. I loved it, and it was fast and reliable.
I owned a silver 1988 Daytona Shelby Z with the Turbo II engine and a 5 speed. Loved that car!! It was not fast, but quick enough to be entertaining.
I love checking out videos of older cars that we in europe never got.

Actually, if memory serves me right, from 84-86, Chrysler made more lasers than Daytonas, however from 87+, Daytonas were aplenty.
You're correct that they made more Lasers than Daytonas. Chrysler dropped the Laser for 1987 when the LeBaron was launched.

Couldn't agree more! It sold quickly and we could have sold it 10 times over. The response was incredible. Hard to find in that condition.

Thanks! I know the Dodge Daytona Turbo Z had that lip. Quite possibly the Laser XT also. This is an XE model.

You're correct. I had a new 84' Daytona turbo with the exact same rims. They should have much more shine to them and they were also clearcoated.

I had this model with with all the bells and whistles in a 5 speed. it was 750 dollars in 1995 to replace the Cluster when it went out.
I remember when my father had this car. Back when I was in first grade. It was state.ofntjrbaet at the time. It was ahead of it's time.

I ALWAYS preferred the Laser over the Daytona. It's just a better looking car.
I never liked the wing on the Daytona.
I know they’re pretty much the same, but the Chrysler steering wheel, spoiler, and chrome emblems just look better than it’s Dodge counterparts.

One unique feature the Laser XE had that no other Lasers/Daytonas had...DUAL EUROPEAN TRUMPET AIR HORNS!!
Daytona Pacifica has the air horn as well, might not be duel.
