It looked like there was a ton of lag when ETA mashed the thumbstick around on that first racing game. He didn't mention anything about no lag, so I assume there was lots of lag. This would be a deal killer for many who are into gaming.
Lenovo has PC Mode for the Legion Y700 tablet. Since that tablet does have a headphone jack, I know which one will be my choice.
As said in the comments to your last video, you can go fullscreen in Minecraft in dex with shortcuts on the keyboard. Just press the windows key and cursor up.
Geez. I’ve been contemplating on WHAT to buy for mobile gaming… Trying to enhance from my mobile set up and have a more dedicated on the fly set up, I watched a lot of your videos of what to get and what would work… This got all I want… Thanks for all your quality videos man!
I have been looking to replace my laptop with something smaller but powerful at the same time and I always keep a close eye to the Samsung Tab S8 but never quite jumped on it as i wasn't sure if it would cut it for me. With this and your previews videos on it, it is clear that is a great device and it will do what i need for my work so maybe on Christmas i will decide to break the bank and get one for myself!
I would buy that device now if I had the money, because our money will be worth nothing when the economic recession gets much worse this winter.
Next Christmas, you'll be eating bugs, own nothing, and cry yourself to sleep under a blanket made out of rat skin & used C*VID masks, along with your family members and friends who are also desperately trying to stay alive underneath that smelly local bridge you will call your "new home".
With the Tab S8, you will at least have a better chance of becoming gang leader and have more bugs to eat.
And when the battery eventually dies, you can still use the Tab S8 as a fancy plate for your favorite WEF bug protein dishes!
Yeah I'm disappointed that they didn't release anything smaller, as I'm looking for a top tier 7-9 inch tablet. I get that for laptop replacement it makes sense to have a 12-14 inch screen since most laptops have 13-15 inch screens, but for me the whole point is to get away from all the bulk
If you want to save a few bucks, I still use my Galaxy Tab S6 as a daily driver/laptop replacement. 10.5 inches and fits well with my journals in a backpack. I don't game on it outside of emulation so it doesn't need the latest and greatest specs and still gets dex and Samsung Notes. Couldn't be happier

I don't know if I'm being biased but, TH-cam always picks up the lowest resolution and even if I change it to the highest one it looks funny to me... much crisper and higher quality on the iPad pro tbh!! But anyways I'll use this tab S8 for school related stuff I'm a teacher. Thanks again for the great advice

Thanks for this. What surprises me (as an iPad user) is that Stage Manager (which won’t work on my 2018 iPad Pro btw) keeps getting delayed but extending to monitor works so well on an S8 that probably uses a chip on par with the A Series?! Definitely got me thinking…
Stage manager is coming to none M1 iPads, just not with external display support.

There's plenty of great games on Android but since we have game streaming like game pass, Stadia and GeForce now which I use all three then there's no point in AAA games on the phone. They have Genshin Impact, Final Fantasy games, Ark,

I use a galaxy s10e as my desktop. with a few cheap amazon type c docks i can take it to every room, i can use my ps4 controllers or my gamesir x2. I really am interested in arm technology and how its progressing, especially along side strides in software like box64,wine,proton..etc Wont be long till our phone can do it all, I keep emailing major cpu manufacturers and asking them to let me know what their plans for tackeling the portability / ease of access market.

I have a tab s7fe and it also has dex mode, i sometimes just play games like you but on my 55 inch 4k tv, and honestly i am not able to play Minecraft, it just glitches out..... But i use it for geforce now to play shadow of tomb raider definitive edition on 1200p60fps and it looks so crisp and good... (I have 100mbps internet so it runs great, also ping is under control)

Which cable exactly do you have connected for power to the dock? It's probably the samsung one, but the 45W charger?
Clip Studio Paint is a pro-level app for Android. Should be great in this setup, using the tablet as the drawing screen.
sucks that's it's a subscription though, even before the changes to the PC version, but finding a good alternative that can work with .csp files for when I want to alternate between my PC and tablet on-the-go has been bothersome.

in the case of dex, I really want to love and it's close, but with couple of kinks that i just can't stand with
I got a tab s7 plus and want to use this as a laptop replacement, and recently I've got the chance to use Surface pro 8 and compare the two.
let down are:
Dex are sometimes buggy and at most time restart will do it, but still annoying
Dex customization can be better
game with controller support and mouse and keyboard support are sparce at best
Word editor(such as word or google doc) are simplified, and I do miss the complete layout on windows
You cannot multi open app tab (Like two word)
but otherwise, it's useable
use wps instead of microsoft office, it allows me to open multiple documents at the same time using my lenovo tab p11 pro
I mean... imo the big let down is... android OS.
Just so much more you can do on windows still. Been around so long.
Been an issue since the s6 apparently... But there is no spell check across the OS when using a physical keyboard. Not a work replacement when I can't even use the Gmail app without seeing spell check underlines. You'd have to use Google docs in chrome to draft anything important.

You should do a video on Lenovo Y700 tablet. It's only available in China but it's a monster at a cheaper price compared to Samsung products.

Do you need a certain kind of USBC adapter? I'm sure mine only ever lets you put 1080p and I tried plugging into my 4k TV but it won't do dex at 4k

I had S6 (sold), S7 Plus, S7 FE, and S8 Ultra. Only used DEX less than 10 times over 3-4 years.

@@MOnTIrOVkO correct me if I'm wrong, for multi monitor support you would have to have another computer running the monitor and it would be a screen passthrough? While that is neat, my ideal would be to heave the phone directly drive both monitors by itself otherwise I nearly might as well be using the other computer.
Still might be a neat use for an older RPi.

I've been eyeing the Tab S8, but they don't quite get it right for me. I want top of the line specs in a smaller form factor like 9-10inch. Tab S8 comes with 11inch, which has lowered specs, 12.4 inch which is a little too large to be used in hands, the 14inch Ultra is just too massive to be used as a tablet in the hands.
Yeah, the only small android powerful tablet I could think of is that Lenovo Y700 but sadly it isn't released globally.

Just be warned. Not all silicon is created equally. I have bought multiple Samsung devices, and none of them have benchmarked as fast as their TH-cam reviews claim. My galaxy tab s8 can't run aethersx at full speed without hacks running in the background.

The Logitech K780 to me is still the perfect keyboard for a tablet. You can have your tablet laid out horizontally, with your phone vertically right next to it. (Keyboard has built in stand.) This gives a really neat portable dual screen setup.
