First - thanks for your install video it helped a ton! I ended up purchasing the Billetworkz SS and installed it today (super fast shipping btw). I did not have to completely remove the center console like you did, however I did remove the screws/bolts so that I could move it - the only part I had to move it was for the bushings on the front side. Much like you, I did not have an allen key to fit the lockout assembly, but ended up using T10H/T15H torx bits. Once I got the bushings installed, I ran into a small hiccup with the retaining cup with the spring that the bottom of the shifter fits into, which actually fell off. Getting that back on was a challenge with so little space, but it worked out. Other than that, a very straightforward install. Shifts feel good and noticeably shorter. Overall, very impressed with the design and the feeling of the shifts. Thinking about fitting a small o ring or something between the reverse lockout and the stop bolt - metal on metal clanking when engaging reverse.
Good job on yet another SS! It's good to see what you had on before (RacerX) and how you explained it may not be the same if this was your first time with the OEM shifter. I'm surprised BilletWorkz assembled the top half of the shifter, knowing it would need to be disassembled for installation. They could have provided an explosive view of how the parts fit together/assemble, and provide that needed special L end wrench. Also I'd think they would have a little blue loctite on those screws, so they don't come loose sometime down the road, it'll take a lot of movement going from shift to shift. Oh, and I like your version of a little grease on the shifter...LOL! I was rolling when I saw that. Love your vids and instructions, now I need to look for that follow up vid on your driving experience with the Billetworkz shifter. I moved your "like" to 28...where is everyone on this, 28 give me a break, this guy is busting doing these vids for you all or is it for all y'all...ha!
Always appreciate the support! So one thing I’ll highlight in the test drive is this… I’m using both the Racer X short shifter and the BilletWorkz together. It feels amazing.
It does sit higher, which I like, I would say a few inches, nothing as extreme as some other shifters, but a nice height change. I actually would prefer a higher amount, but this works well.
You cut out the lateral return spring re-install. When I put a STS on my Mazda, that part was - BY FAR - the hardest part of the whole thing. It probably took me an hour all told to get it installed. At least half an hour of that was getting that fucking spring back on. I wonder if it's any easier here. It LOOKS exactly the same, so IDK how it could be easier. And you cut it out of the video, which makes me think that it ain't all that easy. BUT you didn't bitch about how much of a PITA it was, so...
If I am following you right, that part was not a pain at all. In fact, thinking back to this install the hardest portion was hammering out the locking clip, everything else falls into place easily. Having done a few SS kits I can confidently say that it all goes into place like LEGOs.
I may have a problem, but the upside is the community gets to see how all these parts perform. However, in my test drive the key part is that I’m using both the Racer X short shift and this BilletWorkz together.
@@CarQuicks so all in your 65% shorter throw over stock. Damn good if you ask me! People told me it would be to short when I did the NST cabin & engine bay SS in my Yaris. Got to say it was the best feeling ever! this has got to have a fantastic notchy feel to it

Awesome glad you liked it! I've been loving the SS so far on my car as well!
Great video bro! Keep up the good work. Your car is coming together
Appreciate it!!

I love the color, Im thinking about gettting one of these and just keeping the CE Shiftt Knob as a display piece.
It feels really good in hand and is a nice weight.
This is dope!
Super fire to drive now!
Nice job!!!
Thanks!
What shifter did you have before? The white one?
That was a WeAreLikeWise Reverse Lockout kit withe the DC Sports shift Knob.
molybdenum disulfide grease would be better for that application.(engineer and gr owner here)
Appreciate this! Really! I had to go look this up but I appreciate learning something new. I’ll have this in the garage for future installs.
@@CarQuicks My pleasure. Enjoy your car.
I think I will start calling you the knob god 😂
I might have a problem 😆
Enjoy 🤙🏾
Feels so good
good one
Thanks
How much higher does the billetworkz shift knob sit over the stock knob?
It does sit higher, which I like, I would say a few inches, nothing as extreme as some other shifters, but a nice height change. I actually would prefer a higher amount, but this works well.
@@CarQuicksthx. Also have you tried the stock shifter from the Honda CTR or even the SI? How does this compare?
Looks goodt lol 😆 ✌️ bro
Appreciate it!
What shift knob?
This is a Billetworkz shift knob. i believe it was called Cosmic Blue or something like that.
@@CarQuicksthanks i found it! Do i need to get the reverse lockout adapter option as well?

The racerX combo wasn’t good enough for ya?! This is like the pitch mount situation all over again lol
Racer x is better in my opinion. The billet works is only a 25% throw reduction. Racer X is 40% reduction.
