I've always said that if things are to change for the G16E motor, than yes we will report on it. However, the basis for most owners and what we gauge as reliable and fine, for this car, is due to the thousands of cars worldwide running the exact same drivetrain, without any issues. We had 2 (maybe 3) reports int he US that did provide people with the right context on to why things happened as they did. Then you have other thinking a warranty was denied on a car that was modified, which wouldn't be the case. In all, I say this to anyone who is in doubt... research this car, the motor and the countries, race teams, owners, shops who are actively participating in this community. You will find a totally different story and opinion on the car.

Hey, all I can pull from is the hard numbers Ford themselves released. After that.. who knows, but if mach-E sales help produce more models like a Dark Horse, by all means make more.

No. I’ve spoken to people close to this situation. And this video he was called out from reputable tuners around the world. Read the comments and follow the people who have built these cars. Again you are not telling me anything I haven’t researched deeply. In particular this gentleman was claiming they had a mountain of failures in a region where they only had about 100 GR Yaris. Which would make anyone raise an eyebrow because of how isolated his claims were. To turn around and say the car is fantastic and bought more. The video brought attention to what he wanted. Also look up what LSPI is on a low displacement, high boost turbo motor.

@CarQuicks There's multiple examples of Stock GR Corolla catching fire, and on at least two, Toyota tried to deny the warranty for a BS reason.

@@BicBappy-u9o There is not. Unless oyu can cite verified sources of such. The thing here is that owners WOULD care if this was the case. So much so, many of us did research tracking down these "claims", how the cars were, who owned them, and the information that came back, confirmed that the issue is not what the internet wants you to believe. So much so, I have examples of someone stating they had a fire, just to find the car was traded in at a dealership. I've had friends at the Toyota HQ in Plano, TX sit with the warranty department asking specifically on how many GR Corolla's have been denied warranty claims on fires and otherwise. I've spoken with tuners in Australia and Japan for the GR Yaris (same engine) about their history with the car and issues they've run into. I understand it might look like a bias because I own the car, I've said many times in my video, if something were to change based on the reliability of the car, you'd hear it from me first. Plus, I'm not some blind owner, I know how to do deep research and connect with the right people to find answers. I don't take lightly the idea of a hazard of that magnitude, but to repeat false claims as facts is not helping or proving someone has actually wanted to know the truth. If the car is not for you, that is perfectly fine, I would only wish for you to find what makes you happy.

@CarQuicks There's multiple videos on TH-cam of people having the issue. You don't need to believe it if you don't want to, but that doesn't make it false. It's a 1.6L 3 banger making 300 horsepower, what do you expect to happen?

I had another garage door opener so the button press wasn’t a deal breaker. If it was more feature rich like the rear view mirror in our Sienna I’d probably reconsider. Most rear view camera I’ve tested fall into the same range of performance at 4K. It’s a lens issue rather than resolution… I’ve see a few that perform better, but the cost difference wasn’t enough to warrant the change. If I was to omit the camera I’d still have a rear view mirror where you can see anything at night. Lol. There are alternatives out there try checking out the website BkackBoxMyCar as they have good comparison charts in the dashcams in the market.

Yes absolutely. I was ok with the more subdued sound but the inlet adds a very good amount.

I was so deep into every mod that I forgot to even mention that and I’ve been through THREE different kinds! But I also know most people would not necessarily jump to that mod first. But I agree with you it’s a game changer!

@ pitch stop mount or rear trans mount. They’re to stop the motor from rocking too much while changing gears and on and off throttle situations.

I mean what car isn’t in the near $40K range considering what this drivetrain is. But yes, there are tons of options up to $50K.

All subjective as I said. Especially for exhausts because sound is preference, that even lends itself down to an intake. Now if your goal is more sound for the lowest price possible, then you can go your route.

Ok, just to inform you, the information you have is false. A couple things to know Toyota has decades experience in the turbo sector. The Toyota Supra, Celica, Mark, GR Yaris, GR Corolla, etc. The 2JZ motor, the 3SGTE motor, 1JZ, G16GTE… so their experience in turbo motors is solidified. The Tundra recall is based on a manufactured defect that has been rectified. Not a good look, but it would not make their previous knowledge on turbo motors obsolete. As for the warranty denial, that story was false. You will need to research it but Toyota never denied any claim for exceeding 85MPH.

You had the dealership flash it? I just installed the SXTH Element CAI and CEI popped up in just under 2 days

I left it because I didn’t want to tap into the wiring. I believe it’s for the reverse lines that show up on the screen when in reverse.

@@CarQuicks Thanks. I just realized I said brake wire and not reverse wire. 🤣 I haven't hooked it up either but it would be easy to use a tap if I wanted to.
