Red Dead Stories: Uncle & John Marston's Last Days (All Cutscenes)

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 9 มี.ค. 2019
- John Marston returns home to his ranch where he meets Abigail, Jack, & Uncle. After having dinner, John & Uncle do some cattle & some rustling together. Then comes the final mission where the army comes to John's house. Outnumbered John, Uncle, & Jack are able to hold them off for a little while, but soon Uncle becomes fatally wounded. John, Jack, & Abigail head off towards the barn. John tells them to run away and he'll see them soon. As he walks out the front of the barn, he's greeted by close to 20 army soldiers & Edgar Ross. They show no mercy as they shoot him repeatedly. Some years later Jack Marston goes to hunt down Edgar and gets his revenge.

@21st Century Schizoid Man not confirmed.
@@helljumper6969 Not confirmed, but rockstar throws every hint under the sun at you to imply it. In RDR2 they try to throw you off a little by not having his facial scars like he does in RDR1. But in the first game you can see his scars, and the beard would also cover most of the main scarring. There's several dialogue hints in both games that hint towards RDR. The "one shot kid" line is more than likely a reference to when red blow's the guy's arm off in one shot after those people kill his father. And as he reaches for the gun to do that with he burns his hand, his right hand. In both games Uncle wears a glove on his right hand. In RDR2 you can see what looks like scar textures on his right hand when he's not wearing the glove. There's a rag he also wears in his back pocket in RDR2 that looks pretty much identical to the rag red uses to wrap his hand after he burns it. RDR1 Uncle mentions having experience in ranching. Red having grown up on a ranch and that same ranch appearing in all 3 games. Also Uncle despite acting dumb and lazy most of the time is probably the smartest among the gang in RDR2. And after the events of RDR it would explain why he lies low under the name Uncle and falls in with Dutch's gang. And why at a moment's notice he can flip a switch like OP mentioned and hold his own against the army even in old age. Cause red literally fights the army and government and wins. So yeah it's not confirmed, but when you put 2 and 2 together like 15 times does it really need confirmed?
I wonder if it was personal for him because of the gang
@Kyle Castloo it's confirmed that RDR and RDR1&2 are separate universes by R* themselves. And more or less take place around the same time, so there is literally 0 chance of Uncle = Red being true. I don't understand how people don't get this.

His dead eye is full
Either he had a Lazy Eye, or a lack of respect!
All of John and Uncles interactions in RDR1 and RDR2 some of the funniest dialogue i have ever heard. They come up with the most creative ways to insult one another.
Uncle was the oldest gang member and possibly the laziest. Yet he outlived everyone except John (who didn't last long after). He was always very clever and it is what had kept him alive for so long and doing the bare minimum. Yet he knew that the right thing was worth dying for and that is why the last thing he did was defend the Marston family and tell John to get them to safety. It is also why he ran away from Dutch - he knew Dutch was broken beyond repair.
In RDR2, Uncle is portraited as nothing more than a lazy old man who sleeps around all day, tells lies and asks for money. He participates only in a few heists and they're not crucial to the main story in any way. But in encounters in the camp, with Dutch and Micah specifically, you can see how Uncle saw straight through them to the real men inside. Just another reason as to why he was probably one of the most intelligent gang members. His death proved he was also one of the most dignified and honourable.
I always wanted to see or hear uncle say something when Hosea dies I feel like they would’ve been closer in the gang since they’re both old af
Uncle probably would have had more screen time in rdr2 if his voice actor didn't die
Uncle isn't lazy
He just hates working [wink]
Uncle is the morale booster. He may not be useful, but he's living proof that this lifestyle _can_ work out. Outlaws don't always die young. _That_ was his role in the gang, and I dare say it was an important one.
The reason Uncle never gets hunted is because he barely commits any crimes in the entirety of RDR2... And Ross didn't even know he existed because of that. Megamind moment

@@JonF-iy1wp the collar is khaki instead of black
Jeremiah Galvan They’re obviously different jackets. Arthur’s is a buckskin hunting jacket and Jack wears a casual everyman’s coat. They’re not even the same color.
I feel like the outfit Arthur wore (pants, jacket, shirt, boots, neckerchief) is buried with him. I also think the hat and the letter's he gets throughout the game is either buried underneath the gazebo or right beside Arthur. Also Arthur hat is most likely buried with John though. Maybe now since the release of RDR2 the jacket that Jack wore is a callback to the jacket Arthur wore not because Rockstar had it planned from the very beginning but because it'd be cute seeing Jack take a note from Arthur's fashion. Arthur was head of the union and the guy who took Jack fishing.
TL;DR the jacket isn't Arthur's but Jack is wearing it with Arthur in mind.
Jeremiah Galvan nice bro
Uncle and John are my favorite relationship in the series... through all of their interactions and passive aggressiveness... you know there’s love there
There's something so encapsulating about John's line to uncle as they stare at the soldiers, like they're both looking back at the days with the gang and how Dutch's mistakes caught up to almost everyone. Its really saddening to know the Marston's thought they worked their way out of that life and could live a better one as a family

I had a bug in a cutscene in RDR2 where uncles bandana dissapeared and I saw Uncle with light stubble. A glorious sight.
Damn really??
Was it the chapter 3 stagecoach robbery mission? If so I saw that too on my sixth playthrough lol.
@@sathlasdalaraynidridlendar6875 Sure was. Shaven uncle.
@@avci6084 Yeah got a screenshot and all.

These videos are really well made, good work
After playing RDR2, I can empathize more with Abigail on why she thought John had left her to go back with Bill or Dutch. It always confused me as a kid why she'd think he would leave her and Jack.
I like that you're still riding the mustang you caught with Bonnie. I rode that thing to the end of the earth.
YEP AND I RIDING MY MAGA HAT ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THE EARTH
Poor uncle - - his ring dang doo core was clearly depleted, an issue only exacerbated by terminal lumbago.
"In my youth the used to call me the 1 shot kid"
Uncle never lied
Yeah cuz one shot killed him and his LumBaGo
@@blackpinkROSEJINIEJISOOLISA nah his lumbago just got to him
It pains me to see good educated kid like Jack go through so much pain and in the end he became a outlaw as well. A fate his parent or Arthur never wanted.
i dont think he continues being an outlaw, he just avenged his father, didnt kill anyone else, nor needed to. he most likely wrote a book about it all considering the journal arthur makes
Jack is awesome because he grew up in the gang as a child. Was around thieves and murderers but learned and enjoyed to read making him street and book smart. the way his character went to gather information on Ross was well spoken enough so not to raise suspicion and stayed polite and true to cowboy culture . He had to get revenge and closer like something out of the books he read as a child. My favorite playable character even if it’s just the epilogue of rd1
Totally agreed. I never understood the dislike of Jack by the majority of the fanbase. Jack in my opinion turned into the most badass gunslinger of all three playable characters across both RDR games and at a much younger age. In some ways I wish they had set RDR1 and 2 roughly 10 years earlier in the historical timeline than they did so we could get another game and play as a 20-something year old Jack Marston.
@@Dagger_323 I think it is because he was rude to his horce, but I don't know
@@Dagger_323 basically just people being annoyed they can't play as John and frustration at him having an annoying line or two. Never really got it myself especially after 2 Jack is thematically a great character. Honestly the only added content I'd want in a remaster is a longer epilogue showing his turn from bookish boy to gunslinger.
@@danielyoung6778 I completely agree. A more detailed and in-depth look at how Jack conditioned himself into a deadly gunslinger would be a welcome addition.
@@Dagger_323 I feel like seeing him grow more bitter with Abigail who's desperate to keep him straight would be an interesting dynamic. As she gets sick he takes on more responsibility and maybe there's a scene where people try to rob the ranch and young Jack kills the last one in the style that John does in 2 with the shotgun. That's the moment Abigail sees to much of John, Arthur and Dutch in him. Once she dies he gives rufus to the MacFarlanes and travels to Mexico where he meets up with Sadie and studies under her and Landon Rickets. Maybe bounty hunting and mercenary work for the mexican Revolution. Be cool to see him rob a train. I'd also like to see the morality system have some story consequence rather than just gameplay in the first game. Maybe how you play as John changes how Jack is in cutscenes and his honor at the end decides wheter he flees to Mexico with Sadie or north to Charles after killing Ross.
"We're nearly out of money" How the hell is that possible after robbing Micah and Dutch??
Invader Jet best . Fucking. Comment
@@legendhavoc175 Probably. If you're 12.
Pinkertons and the government potentially seized the cash as evidence or as relation to the black water massacre
Probably used it for the Ranch
Real reason is because the money didn't exist yet in the story. In canon it might just be that repaying the debt and other expenses just drained it over four years and Charles/Sadie were given cuts as well. They still have enough money to buy from the MacFarlane ranch so maybe interpret that they're low on funds compared to the large amount they had.
Arthur tells John “to not look back” years later John tells jack and Abigail to not look back
The scene where John says goodbye was the first time I ever cried in a video game
didnt notice that the shirt John its wearing its the one Abigail gave him in rdr2
Well Red Dead Redemption II is a prequel so you probably thought it was just a normal rancher shirt and nothing else
@@johnbarrientosiii6586 Exactly everyone praises them for this shit like they didn't get to look at rdr1 when making the second one. All they had to do was find little stuff in the first game and link it to the second one.
@@lukasdoofus2592 Yeah that should get praise. They wrote, arguabebly, a better narrative using only small peices of context from the first game. It 110% deserves the praise it gets.
Oh frick ur right
"Oh mah gawd, they keeld 'im!"
I expected Kyle from South Park to pop up and say "You bastards!" because of how Jack delivered that line.
Meanwhile in rdr2....THEY GOT LENNY...YOU BASTARDS....
lenny is the long lost relative of kenny
AND TRUMP FROM REAL LIFE SPEAKING OF VOTE FOR HIM PLEASE
10:37 badass scene uncle and John fight one last time
This hits a lot harder now, after having played RDR2 and gaining a deeper understanding of John's and Abigail's past..
Red Dead Redemption is a masterpiece, I remember I shed a tear for this man right here 8 years ago.
“I thought you was dead... I wasn’t drinking” Goddamn I love Uncle
The fact that edgar Ross's cabin is there in rdr2 is pretty cool i wonder if he lives there after the epilogue in 2 and John just never seen him until 1911
Jack marston secret dialogue for ross
"Ill give you the lumbago that uncle had his entire life"
"I'll give you a bad case of someone just shot me in the head" is till my favorite line from anything ever
“Revenge is a fools game and it always comes with a noose”
-Arthur
"This is a beautiful spot, see you around cowboy"
Arthur: you keep running and don’t look back
John: you keep riding and don’t look back
God this franchise is amazing
Man imagine if Arthur MORGAN was there with sadie, Charles they would of succeeded
Cause they went elsewhere. Sadie went down to south america and Charles went to canada to start a family
@@marcialdospuforini1197 I actually saw an NPC in RDR 1 which looked alot like Charles. Some big black dude with long hair.
Hamza Khaliq Yeaaaa there is a whole Indian character storyline in rdr1 soooo a Indian dude is not rare
Lol yeah right. They would have just increased the bounties on their heads more and more and caused John to have to pack up and run with his family all over again. Then all the work he'd gone to in order to build a home for Jack and Abigail would have been for nothing, and he would have to continue living a life by the gun. John knew the only way out for his family was by him sacrificing himself. Charles, Sadie, and Arthur being there would have only prolonged the inevitable and potentially Jack and Abigail could have been killed by the Army in a follow-up attack.
@@dawsyncanipe7947 And my brother Arthur went to heaven

John rags on Abigail for being a bad cook, but I wouldn't turn down that T-bone and garlic bread.
Uncle wasn't the greatest man, but when he saw death he didn't run he fought till his last breath, he's a hero to me for that.
I swear rdr3 better have a happy f***n' ending, you hear me Rockstar???!?!?

Then Jack dies because thats what dead means
Well then it just wouldn't be a rdr game
@@vadersfist6495 Landon Ricketts died peacefully in his sleep tho it wouldn't make a good rdr but that's just my opinion
RDR2 starts from a failed heist in Blackwater where some of their friends died. I doubt it will be happy.
