Awesome Mod! I am currently also trying to mod my wraith, so the fact that you took the time to tell us how you moved stuff around was awesome thanks for the tips.
Looks great.. I'm looking at buying a Wraith kit and I'm going to mod and change things as I build it. You have given me some great ideas!!! Thanks, Asplenia.
No Problem! That's why I do these vids. That's a cool mod of rigging the person up with the wheel. I've even seen where someone put a servo in the head so when the wheels and arms move, the head turns in the direction of where the vehicles going. Post that video!
I totally did this after I seen yours! Except mine looks better now lol maybe ill make a response clip of mine. changed up the front bumper and lights, and rock guarded the hood and roof. And get this. I have a working steering wheel with a little dude that looks like hes drivin the beast ! thanks dude for the insperation
Pretty damn cool! personally I woulda tried aluminum tubing with some Rit dye. I don't know if that would take on the color or not. Thanks for the idea, i dig this mod a lot!
I bought it from Lowe's in the hardware department. They sell sheets of aluminum. I just traced the panels onto the aluminum and cut it out with a cutting wheel on a dremel. Make sure and sand down the edges, as they are quite sharp at first. I do have a seperate video on the panels
Looks good man,Have you thought about putting a 1.9 tire on the back instead of a 2.2.I'm wanting to do this to wraith and I got some of that tubing already thanks for vid man.
man sooo sweet, i was trying to think of what to do with the rear of the truck, i think the only thing i would do more than u is make another roof panel but long enuf to go all the way to the back, and maby close the sides in too, just sayin it might look cool. none the less awsome build dude good job
how did you bend those plastic pieces into that brass tubing the only reason i am asking is because i am looking to do what you did because it looks good.
They are steel/aluminum (not sure which, it was sheet metal from a hardware store). I took off the stock panels and traced on some thin sheet goods. cut with a dremel cutting wheel and drilledthe body screws. I have a seperate vid on that as well!
What should i buy, The Poison spyder version or normal? I do Rock climbing, and also want to do foffing, is the stock wraith motor good for foffing? And is the poison spyder very good at crawling? PLEASE HELP!
sick wraith, looks great. buying mine this winter. def want to mod for spare tire. will likely follow some of your steps. you referred to "the other guy got two pieces to stick together" he definitely plastic welded them you drip molten plastic as if tack welding... its time consuming and annoying i like your solution better. ID LOVE TO SEE IT WITH THE SPARE TIRE MOUNTED..... just sayin. sweet work bro
@RCBlades007 Yeah, i wanted the TSL swampers, but my shop was out of them. I may pick some up since i ordered sone aluminum beadlocks. As for drivers, im torn! I like the scale look, but theres something strange about putting a doll in a $1000+ RC machine!
They're very similar, but you are paying for a bit of licensing for the poison spider/jeep stuff. i know the jeep body is a bit harder to get off. I think it's about a $50 difference on the two for the RTR. Crawling wise, it's okay. With some key mods, it can hold it's own!
I have a part 1 and a part 2. It's not an easy process to film, but tried my best at explaining it - plus I was one of the first to try and film it via youTube (at that time)
I want to do this to mine so bad it's unreal, but out of all of my Rc's my Wraith is my baby, definitely my favorite, so I'm afraid to cut on it and with my luck end up making a mistake and screwing it up..maybe one of these days I'll get the nerve.. And if not maybe I can find someone I could pay to do it lol...
I like it looks great check out mine I just finished and my channel you'll like tons of custom scale rc's including my true to scale Jeep wrangler JK 4x4

Thanks,
Asplenia.
Looks so much better than the stock body! Great work.
Thanks for the nice comments! It is one of my proudest mods
that looks way better than stock, nice job man
The Wraith is a great kit to customize. Have fun!
Thanks! One of my most proud custom mods!
Thanks for sharing. I wanted to change the look of my wraith and this looks good. Just ordered some 5/16 brass tubing... Just subscribed
Thanks for watching, Steve! The fastback wraith does look better than stock.

Post that video!
Thanks. Probably one of my favorite mods (that didn't cost me a weeks salary!!)
Looks awesome! Great job!
Clean, simple, easy, nice job!!
Sweet mod man!! I like it!!

The tubing I got a local hobby shop, it was super thin. Just big enough inside diameter to fit the plastic on the cage
That's a really good video, IM going to attempt it now. Yours definitely looks cool with the wagon back. So you just cut away and go with the flow lol
Pretty damn cool! personally I woulda tried aluminum tubing with some Rit dye. I don't know if that would take on the color or not. Thanks for the idea, i dig this mod a lot!
Thanks for the help. I used aluminum tubing from Ace Hardware. The aluminum is probably not as durable as brass.
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Appreciate all the great comments.

Thanks! Just take your time and don't cut too much!

very good looking nice mod and thanks for the tips
Thanks for the nice comments!
how thick was the wall of the
tube?
Cool, Thanks for the add to the playlist
The 5/16" was O.D. correct?
I will check it out!

Thanks for the reply, that's what I needed to know.
I might try it myself
Thanks! I will check out your channel!
how did you bend those plastic pieces into that brass tubing the only reason i am asking is because i am looking to do what you did because it looks good.
I stretched the plastic apart and slid the brass tub into it.....watch the first part to see that
Thanks! That's what the RC community is about!
yea it looks awesome
Where did you get the alum., boat sides, and panels?
Did you have to shorten the plastic pieces more to get them in the tubing? If not how did you get them in?
What size brass tubing did you use.
They are steel/aluminum (not sure which, it was sheet metal from a hardware store). I took off the stock panels and traced on some thin sheet goods. cut with a dremel cutting wheel and drilledthe body screws. I have a seperate vid on that as well!
Rich jb weld is great for plastic can paint and sand it to shape easier to sand before completely set

Is zap goo like super glue?
Yeah, I shortened them a bit from the Part 1 video. I also unscrewed the cage to allow for more flex on getting the tube as long as possible
It's from OFNA. You can get it at nitrohouse. I'll put a link in the video description for you.
cool, I kinda wanted it to look seemless. I got stuck on a Wraith I saw in a forum that did it this way....
Also are your side panels painted or steel?
were did u get your stand??????
I Did mine months ago with alloy tube sleeved like yours paint black you cant even see the join .
Seems like it would be a bit strange with a 1.9 in the rear. Probably would lower the rear by a 1/2' though
Nice I did the same thing but I used plastic links instead and then I didn't have to melt any plastic
It is not listed or said in part 1
Thanks!
that is a great idea, thanks
No Problem!
