I mounted the receiver box in the back behind the speed control. You can drill 3 small holes to mount it to the battery tray. You will have to use a servo extension wire for the steering. I took off the LED lights for now. I i just slide the battery in thru the front bumper up the center. It makes for good weight in the front.
Dude, you got conned into buying their thing! I dont use a plate, i just chucked the battery on its side with a bit of foam to stop it bouncing around, it fits right where ckrc tell you but you dont need a plate. As for the reciever box, thats an issue. I cable tied it in the back with my esc, put a servo wire extension on, and soldered an extra few inches to the front light wires so they reach to the reciever box. As for the light controller not fitting in, i cant help you really, i still use the stock radio. It works really well, you just dont get many adjustment choices. Maybe try the old electonics in a balloon trick, or just a regular sealed container with holes in it for wires.
Electronics wise, those are the best components on the Wraith. The motor and servo need improvement, in my opinion. I still run the stock ESC in my Wraith, but switched out the tx/rx for my Spektrum
Yeah, lots of screw turning and modding to make it work, but it is worth it for the weight bias toward the front of the vehicle. I'f I did it again, I'd make my own.
I just watched this. I figured I'd try the simple bat mod and it works well for me. You end up with a lower cg with your/this configuration but all of the complications may not be worth it unless you compete or are super competitive.... I'll likely be changing my tune and going this way eventually and I do give props for the battery Velcro which looks nice and I'm sure it works equally as well. Cool video and I'll fav it!
I'm trying to do the same on my Costum rig. I combined the Redcat rs10 and the axial wraith. I used the electronics from the rs10 and body from the wraith. Yes the wraith cage is a pain to mod because of all that bracing. But it creates a challenge to come up with solutions. I enjoy working on this hybrid rig

Good deal! I was looking at moving the receiver box back there too.

Cool, thanks for watching!

Check out the playlist for the Wraith. One is a hinged hood mod from CKRC, although I had to replace the hinges! Basically it operates like a 1:1 car

Good deal! Keep wrenching. It will get right
Don't think I bother changing battery position to much hassle super good info and vid :-)
I just turned my battery on its side, wasted money on other upgrades lol
Yeah, the wraith can def use up some upgrades!!! Lol
Does the Bomber have setting for use with a lipo battery?
Yep, you ca use Lipo right away with the bomber...there might be a pin switch on the esc for lipo though
Buy a traxxas waterproof receiver box and it fits right between the shock mounts perfectly with no problems!
Thanks for the info Brent
I found the Battery Forward Mod to be the easiest of all the mods I've done.... I did it, while building the Kit! lol
The Fastback Mod was harder lol.
Where did you purchase your interior?
It came with the Wraith RTR
@@TheRCNetwork dang mine didn't come with that it has the cheap plastic one and I can't find the nice one anywhere lol thank you
Am I the only one who used zip ties for the battery forward MOD
This was done quite a while ago....so there have been lots of new versions of the mod
mount receiverbox infront of passenger seat.
For the basic hobbyist, is the stock Axial radio, receiver and ESC good enough? I mean, I just wanna go forward, backward and around...Thanks!
how do you remove the battery with the hood on with the screws in?
What have i got my self into :S
Welcome to the Wraith! Lots of labor, but in the end, very nice!
How do you fine the edges on the side panels.
+Felipe “PhotomanRC8” Arroyo I just used a fine file to round the edges
Thanks
Could have done that for free
Zeke Wood Yeah, considering this was done over 3 years ago, it was "cutting edge" back then! lol
Oh really I didn't look at the date lol
