  • Shocks shocks shocksm everyone has their own preferences. I have tried lots of different shocks on Wraiths over the last couple years. The Proline Powerstrokes have been the best shocks I have found to date.

    In the video, you said you were going to try the stock springs, but you might go softer. In trying the stock springs on my Wraith they actually seem very stiff. I haven't weighed my truck, but it is pretty heavy. I have the Super Shafty mods in the transmission as well as a number of other heavy duty additions, so I think it is at least as heavy as your budget build. Did you wind up switching to softer springs?

      I have not and on the last couple builds I have used the same shocks I have ended up using the stock springs as well. Especially when using aluminum axle housings I have found the stock springs to work well. This truck hasn't made that swap yet but it will someday. For now, the high speed rock handling has worked out pretty well.

    Hey Harley. I know you'r a rock bouncer guy, but would the Powerstrokes be any good for slow crawling, or are they more of a rock bouncing shock? If not, what would you suggest for scale crawling?

    I'm confused are you using the longer shocks on back and shorter shocks on front or longer shocks all around or shorter shocks all around. I bought the kit Wraith but all come with the plastic bodied shocks and no matter how carefully I build them I can't get them to not leak at least a little. I would like to go with shocks as my first purchased upgrade so please specify for me if you find the time. Thanks in advance.

    No sorry I wasn't more specific , I meant the silicon bushings at where the top shock eyelet attaches to the frame .

      Sorry, you can use them or I have some old standoffs that I have transferred around. Wish they were available again but may have a new alternative soon.

    Hi Harley, have you removed the original bump stops from these shocks? or do you prefer to run without bump stops ? Thank you

    • @HarleyDesignsInc
      @HarleyDesignsInc  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Running bump stops is a personal preference, I generally run a smaller bump stop if I run them at all.

      +Yisrā'el Yaʿakov I used a metal ball end piece that I already had, I don't have any experience with the actual Proline version. Sorry, wish I could give you more specific instructions.

    Did u put the long shocks all the way around or long in the back and short in the front

    • @HarleyDesignsInc
      @HarleyDesignsInc  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Long shocks all the way around. I suggest equal length shocks, no matter what shocks you chose.
