    Its all a gamble, what is gained is lost in ground clearance. Thanks for the quick tip. You should have posted both running on rocks to compare.

    Nice work..good that you are trying something out.
    But all the flex you can get is not alwys the best thing ..
    The bigger X your axles make the more you drive out off line..
    Ground clearence is a great thing..butt as flex the same ,to much is also bad..
    Your shocks are bringing some weight high up to the top off the car.,
    Finding a balance is always accepting some losses and some gaings.
    First thing with the Wraith is battery up front...best 3s 2200 packs..
    Next is the links( steel ) gives some weight down low..and maybe beef tubes and bit heavy wheels or wheel weights...
    I use teflon tubes ( thin full line) instead of balls on my rod ends...same movement but no play like with balls...( have a video on you tube..)
    So look for the balance..
    Ground clearence and flex can help you offroad but both together must be in harmony for the best ride...
    Keep on going man...

    That looks like an awesome rig. I'd move the battery to the front though. I know some people don't like to but mind def goes better that way. I noticed the other day all but one of my stock shocks were oily and when I flipped it over and moved the suspension there was only 1 shock with enough oil left in it to work. I put shocks from my old Tmaxx on it but they need pistons with more holes or liter weight old cos they are stiff as hell. I'm going to your page and see if I can see it in action.

    I really like it when its sits low, I've got 130mm shocks on my scx10 with a droop kit, still stays nice and low (i hate the monster truck looks) but it flexes so nicely!

    Explainive? I think you mean Informative, heh!
    I don't mean any disrespect, I just thought it was funny that you couldn't think of the right word...it happens sometimes when people are speaking on camera for thousands of people, or are speaking in front of a room full of people.
    Anyway, some nice mods you have done to your Wraith...well done!

    your pinion angle's are way off tilt the axles where the pinion is upward a little and you wont have as much driveline issue's sick truck tho love the shocks but a bit more ground clearance will help on the rocks

    Not to say you can't turn your other Wraith into a monster truck, slap in an 1/8 electronics setup and beef up all the drive lines and diffs and still run a modified Wraith with Savage shocks....hey it's r/c bro enjoy it

    Nice mods bro. Your rigs are cool.

  • @nolimitazns
    @nolimitazns 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rock crawlers/rock racers all have limits to their flex for a reason. Too much articulation will force your one wheel of your rig into a hole or a bind crawling and once that happens powering out will either break the axle CVD pin spur gear/slipper etc. You only want tons of flex if you have a monster truck but even so that's only to handle landing ridiculous jumps which is why many monster trucks have sway bars among other suspension limiting equipment!

    • @maxneale6334
      @maxneale6334 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, on a monster truck you want TRAVEL for jumps NOT FLEX, and with the dropping into holes, that's why you AVOID the hole, not rely on crap flex and drive through it.

    • @nolimitazns
      @nolimitazns 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      max neale The Wraith he built is obviously no monster truck. The chassis is far from any monster truck I've ever seen at least. Monster trucks usually use plush suspension because all they do is jump and land. Crawlers or rock hoppers/racers or Utra 4 rigs require the capability to crawl well, handle like a dune buggy, jump like a buggy, and yet still be able to do this in a quick time frame as the courses are all timed,
      I don;t want to stifle anyone's creativity...I am just explaining some mistakes I've mad in the past with setting up too much flex with shocks way too long. Flex is for show its always a consistent and predictable rig that wins competitions.
      If you watch how pro rc crawlers run their comp rigs they don't want their truck to flex too much because you no longer have power from that wheel that has lost ground contact and the rig becomes unpredictable unless your suspension is tuned right and so is your weight balance.
      If you want a monster truck that is an average crawler with a true TVP chassis unlike the Wraith then get a Wheely King 4x4 or Crawler King 4x4...do some basic steering and driveline strengthening and you;re ready.
      I would rather use an SCX-10 on Wraith axles with monster truck tires and a Bombproof V2 trannyy with an 1/8 power setup on 4s. THAT'S a monster truck,

    where did you attach the top front shock to was it a std hole or did you make it thanks

  • @TheNicholas911
    @TheNicholas911 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey dude I have done this mod a dozen times and just wanted you to know what works well for this I hook the top of back shocks to roof where you did your roof mod then in the front no need to remove scale itams drill two holes or one straight one threw both plastic peace of tube frame the place shock in the midde with spacers on each side works well

    • @nolimitazns
      @nolimitazns 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes of course it works you are allowing a longer shock to absorb your landings. The downside to that is depending what type of power system you are using and what you use your Wraith for (bashing high speed or mudding or trailing, or balls to the wall rock racing destruction derby -- that's me). I hardly jump my wraith as I don't trust the axles holding up I know the HD bevel gears will but definitely not the housing on a bad landing. You will probably lose a little height as well which is okay the Wraith sits too high anyway. I've flipped all of my shock mounts upside down before the install to lower it about 1/2"/

      If you want to move your shocks higher for a more plush ride as now the upper shock mount is on the roof which has a lot less plastic cross beam reinforcement as the stock locations be my guest. I hope you were being sarcastic with that remark Bill, If you do what this guy did and run anything other than stock electronics AND MAXIMM 2S you maybe okay. I give him 2-3 months of continuous running before he sees how terribly bent those crap HPI shock shafts will be. That's after several pop offs of those junk plastic caps. With all that money he basically paid for RTR parts he could have done easier solutions for free. Looks like Daddy's rig has a proper 1:1 world suspension layout. Willing to bet his will outcrawl that kids Wraith any day. FLEX AMOUNT IS THE SAME AS LISTING MPH ON YOUR RC BOX!!
