@@Robinhood-pg6mb yo, yep that's it, it will sort itself out eventually but it takes time. Count at least 4-5 months of awkward hair and wearing beanies and caps/hats to hide it. Fortunately we're in winter which is a good excuse to wear a beanie all the time till at least Feb 2022. Then it will flatten on its own. It's a true test of patience tho.... I think by 2.5 months of growth you can trim the sides and create a fade with the top (that should be left untouched); it'll be better looking than sticking out hair, but still not great as the top hair wont be long enough to be styled. So yeah, in total, it's a long wait of 5 months to have 2-3 inches of hair, and from there youll be able to have nice haircuts with it.
@@TheZmusicGroupi can never get past the awkward stage with the sides. I had really long hair when I was young and then got it shaved and had your same issue of it growing back awkward. Were you able to grow it out again? I never shaved the top after that but I also never let the sides grow because of it either. My barber messed the top up last time so now I have to get it trimmed to grow evenly, but that means ill likely have to trim the sides again because I work and can’t wear hats. I wanted to go with more of that jeff wittek longer slick back with the side burns trimmed but I’m just gonna have to wait again.

Your hair is medium long hair, so you need to apply more product probably but the way you do it is important, I would advise you try out some castor oil, it has a very thick strong hold and isn't greasy like other oils and products and is also very good for your hair.

Top of my hair is decently long and very movable and i have it as a combover. I think I'm like 3 or 4 months in without a cut so I guess I'll just let everything grow out.
