Awesome lil cooler the AK400 🥰👍😇. Deep Cool did a vg job with aesthetics 🤩😉 and hopefully the pricing ends up making this a sweet deal. Cheers Mike for another great review 😋😇🥰🍻
Price aside this cooler looks really smart, love the checker design and the panel on top of stack just gives classy look. Makes my evo212 look dated for sure. Thanks for sharing Mike and Kath👍
Why is everybody avoiding to talk about the other offering of Deepcool: the AS500 & AS500 Plus, both coolers have Noctua NH-D15S & NH-D15 performances for 65 & 75 Euros. Granted, both are 140mm fan coolers and are as a complete package 164mm tall.
Got the AK400 Zero Dark Plus (has an extra rear fan) on Cyber Monday sale for the same price as the OG AK400. Works great for my 5600X and finally put my original decade plus old Hyper 212 EVO to bed.
i bought this and it is super worth it. I came from stock cooling fan on my i5 11400 and I was playing a CPU intensive game which brings my temps to 70c-80c and sometimes pushes to 90c and I was skeptical at first on buying this because it might just knockout 3-5c I thought but holy hell, it does its job great. I put in cinebench immediately after i installed it and my temps won't even go above 50c on full load and the game i was playing can't even push it above that temp as well and I scored it for just $30 in my region
@@mikesunboxing didn't have that one in stock unfortunately, i normally go for the Scythe Kotetsu Mark 2 for these type of builds but those shot up in price to 45-50 euro here , and the AK400 white was only 37 euro , steal in my book
deepcool killing it in the budget range. Noctua is trembling. If it were me, I'd slap a noctua nf a12x25 chromax on this cooler, just because haha (I know it's stupid considering the noctua fan itself is more expensive than the whole cooler package, but that's just me)
Great review. I am flip-flopping between buying an AK400 and a 620 for a Ryzen 5 3000 or 5000 which are said to be exceptionally hot. I don't overclock but ambient temps can get to 30 celsius where I am and would like to keep it quiet too. Would you recommend AK400 or 620 under those circumstances?
the 620 will give more headroom due to its being larger and able to soak up more or the heat, or even the new ak500 looks interesting, as another solution the silentiumpc fortis 5 is what i am using on my 5800x and does well, although ambient temps here are a good bit lower at present, but during the summer it was fine
@@joeadams1372 thanks for the info. It seems not to support a 360mm aio tho. I need a case that supports both 240mm radiator and 360. One for CPU and one for a GPU. Perhaps I will look into if a 360 rad can be mounted to my side panel with a few choice cuts made...
@@mikesunboxing I'm trying out a distro of Linux called Zorin. I like it, but I can't seem to find out if Logitech G Hub will work with it. G Hub is the driver for my steering wheel and pedals. That's the only thing keeping me from ditching Windows 10 for good. I'll keep doing research. Cheers.
wondering if this cooler would provide much if any improvement over one of the Gammaxx 400/GT/GTE series coolers which seem to all use the same single tower but different fans. The fan on this cooler seems to be a slight improvement for static pressure. the tower size/dimensions seem almost identical. Have yet to see any direct comparisons though for thermal performance.
there is a little difference, we tested the 400 again recently (video out for patreons at the moment will be released soon) the 400 still does well but is about 5c behind for 65w parts and more with higher tdp parts
@@mikesunboxing Good to know. This cooler seems to compare well with the likes of the Thermalright AK/AS 120, Vetroo V5, NH-U12S redux. I swapped my Gammaxx GTE V2 for an old nh-u12p se2 and temps didn't change so I'm assuming there will be little to no improvement if I were to get the Ak400 or higher end cooler on my 5600 at stock.
Hi Mike, im using ryzen 7 3700x with wratih prism cooler and its not doing good im really confused here to which one should i go for here AK 400 or AK 620 Ak 620 pricing is double that of Ak 400 here in India only during summer the heat will be high here what should i do?
Sound like a nice little cooler, and it will depend of the price. But I'm not confident about the 220w claim.. It has just 4 pipes, so 160w seems more realistic.. But who knows..maybe it has a secret trick in it's hat. My 5950x is running 4.3GHz on all core, drawing between 210 and 220w, sometime more depending of the load and the noctua nh-d15 keep it at 86C with ambiant temp of about 24C. I don't see the AK400 here ...🤔
yeah the 220w is i guess possible although ambient airflow would need to be low i think, and it might be throttling, Deepcool have not really clarified the test setup on that 220w recommendation or limit. It should be out in your neck of the woods soon, it is released here in the UK today, so keep an eye out for it

Hi Mike,
im using ryzen 7 3700x with wratih prism cooler and its not doing good

AK 400 or AK 620
Ak 620 pricing is double that of Ak 400 here in India
only during summer the heat will be high here
what should i do?
ak400 is probably best value
@@mikesunboxing my only concern is will ak620 give major cooling compared to ak400?
Because I don't want to regret it again after buying ak400
Can i pair it with a r5 7600 (i am in saudi arabia so its very hot in here)
yes that should be okay, most ryzens aim for 95c unless bios tweaked so you have no worries
Can I use this with a 5900x, and what type of temperatures should I see?
yes, idle temps around 40c depending on the ambient and airflow
@@mikesunboxing my current case has 5 fans.
i've used their coolers for a while on my ryzen builds
yeah pretty good range for all price options and all of them cool well in their price class
Does this comes with pre applied thermal paste??
yes it does
I just got it yesterday, it's the only air cooler that come with LGA1700 bracket here 🤣
yes the market has been slow on the uptake

copper that is nickel plated

you will probably be okay with quite a range of cards, what did you have in mind?

Honestly I like AK 47 the best
Will this cpu cooler keep a stock i7 10700 cool
yes it will
compare with the new ag400!
think the AG400 has the edge due to a larger fin stack and larger thermal mass
Is this good for an i7 11700k
in cooler climates totally fine, warmer places might need the AK620 to be having some extra headroom
220W sounds a bit optimistic!
i got it to about 150w and it did well, i would love to try a 220w cpu on it
AK400, the little baby brother ok the AK620. What a missed opportunity. Shame....
im using i5-12600 non-k for gaming, what should i pick.. ak400 or ak620?
AK400
Ak400 will be fine but if you live in a country or place with a really high ambient temperature then the extra cooling of the 620 might be useful
