I've been an Electrician and PC Hobbyist both for over 23 years and this is the first video where I've seen what myself and my coworkers call the CAD advantage technique where he explains by reversing the thread a turn you hear the screw click the screws designers actually angle the thread start so that it clicks louder in some types loved hearing this detail great vid thanks!

Amazing budget cooler. I recently bought i5 12400 and with stock cooler in cinebench R23 test my temps were hitting 100c on most of the cores. After installing this cooler and testing in cinebench my temps were averaging on 50c with max one of the core hitting 64c. These are amazing temps for a budget air cooler.

No come on...it can't be that easy to install!? 😆 That's the right size cooler I could stand behind. Just the right amount of cooling capacity for the CPU's I have. Generally between 35 and 65 watts. Probably cool higher wattage CPU's as well?. I'm thinking up to 95 watts? Great review as always from the Dynamic Duo. Take care guys. Cheers

I got the deepcool ak400 zero dark plus for my AMD4 Processor, And When I Was setting it up I was very confused when there were bags of different screws, Spacers and some other stuff. I had the right spacers but the wrong Screws and for some reason the AMD screw ones didn't came in with the Orange Spacers but in their own bag. So I grabbed the Screws for INTEL because that's the first one I saw when I was looking for them and the AMD Screws were hidden next to my keyboard. I was struggling for about an hour because the screw just goes deep down and won't screw in. Was about to give up until I watched an video and saw the screws were looking different and I was like "Wait a min there were another set of screws!" And Finally everything else worked out and got it to work and I'm glad I got it and saw the video too lol. I was kinda paranoid when I first got the package and setting it up because I never switched an Cooler and I didn't want to break anything but yeah.

Nice video, I know it was uploaded a year ago, but this helped me understand how to install it. I have a Stock AM4 cooler for my Ryzen 5 3600 and Idle Temps are around 45-50s, in game it is at 80-85.

Are this heatsink would fit to Intel CPU motherboards as well? I remember that I used similar heatsink on Intel CPU motherboard but made by Polish brand SilentiumPC. Now I also use AM4 socket motherboard but my heatsink is designed especially for AMD sockets, so it fits perfectly.
yes it will fit a wide range of processor sockets, but this install guide is just for the AM4 platform
My 2 screws after the thermal paste just spins in place, did I do something wrong?

2:03 what spacers are they? Trying to install this particular cooler on this particular socket and I have the ones in black that say "1700" on them. It does screw in but the bracket is completely loose when they are screwed all the way in. And they dont go onto the backplate firmly as in your video, so the only thing I can think of is the wrong type of spacers..

i would get in touch with deepcool via social media that is usually the fastest way to get a response or spare parts
Should that fan be on the side facing the back of th tower, or the front, or doens't matter? Mine is currently facing to the front. I've been having GPU heating issues, and was trying to rule things out.
normally the cpu cooler should be in the direction of the general airflow path of the case fans and try and go with that
@@mikesunboxing Can a PSU with not enough juice cause it too? The LEDs on my fan blink occasionally. If i'm working (Adobe software) , occasionally one of the monitors blacks out for a couple seconds. And I've had my headphone bluetooth adapter turn itself off. So I assume I need a stronger PSU anyways. Just wondering if it can also cause overheating if not enough power is going everywhere.

if you mean the motherboard back plate, it should be already included on AMD motherboards, but for Intel systems there is one in the box

I bought this fan a couple months ago and it works absolutely amazing, but I bought it for my brother, we have the exact same set up, same motherboard, same backplate, everything. I got mine installed in minutes, but when I got my brothers fan it only came with the black intel spacers, not the orange spacers. What can I do?

Full disclaimer im new to PC building. My intel mobo doesnt have a backplate it just has open holes for the cpu cooler. Would I just need to use the same size as the screws lock nuts with a washer for the silver plate to screw into with the standoffs?
the screws and fittings for the intel mounting are included in the box and labelled

even with the might silentium pc fortis 5 my 13500 is 20c idle 80c under load so expect similar or higher results

Just installed mine, is the fan an intake fan or an exhaust fan? The instructions and this video I'm pretty sure have it installed as an intake fan, but would it be better to install it as an exhaust fan on the other side?
try them both and see which works best for your system
Does it have to be really tight until the cooler screw stops spinning? I am scared af because that kinda concerns me if my mobo-cpu breaks with that

My smart self sprayed WAYYY to much thermal paste and the cpu is running hot now I guess is time to clean and reset

I brought a pre-built cooler with stock cooler and plan to upgrade to this. When installing do i need to remove the motherboard first or can install in inside the case?
should be okay in the case if you have a decent sized case, you didn't mention what case it was so i can't be sure, but you should be fine

hi bro. would installation be harder to do with the mobo already set inside the case or is it better to install fan first and then put it in the case? i have parts for my pc but the fan will take 5 more days to arrive so im thinking i could use the stock cooler till then?
It is very easy to install even if your motherboard is already inside the case. The fan is blocking the screw hole so you will need to install the fan at the end. It takes 2 sec to install the fan so I wouldn't worry about that. Hope that helps

Mate how difficult it is to install a fan if the motherboard is already in the case, it's my first time to try installing a fan and it's quiet daunting.
if the case is flat on the desk it is a lot easier and make sure your case gives access to the rear section where the back plate is and it should be reasonably easy to do

the backplate could be a problem with the spacing so no AM3 of FM socket compatibility sorry

You should really but see what the temps are like, if it doesn’t effect it line with it

Hi would this be able to fit in the thermaltake versa h18 case? the cpu cooler height limitation is 155 mm and the deepcool ak400 is also 155mm tall so im a bit worried if it can fit with the side panel installed. Also would i be able to install this cooler with the motherboard and everything else already in the case with ease? replacing it with amd stock cooler
might be tight depending on slight motherboard variances
I have the thermaltake versa h18 too and it fits! There's about 1-2cm space between the side panel and the cooler.

Have you tested these with 1 vs 2 fans? I'd be interested to see if there was much difference.
2 fans lowers the temp 1-3c so not really worth doing unless you have a system that is really needing it

This is a bit of a late comment, but do you in your opinions think the Pre Applied Thermal paste is sufficient enough?

yes it will do very well
Can the ak400 handle the ryzen 5800x no OC?
under normal loads it will be okay but all core loads will see the temps getting pretty high, depends what temps you are comfortable with and also the ambient temperature
