    It's an under-used tool technique in my opinion so I wanted to shed some more light on it! It's a great feature, especially for short films!

      Hey man. I appreciate that. I’ve done video for about 6 years now, but I’m still trying to work on building consistent quality content on a platform like TH-cam.
      I guess my point is that I appreciate your comment! And I’m working on trying to change my 18 subs into something more. But for now. I Just want to make as much high quality content as I can.
      If you have any suggestions or requests, I’d be more than happy to make some videos on them.

    Didnt even see the upload man I was at work! Great job explaining the concept though fam, cant wait to use this in the future. I actually asked my friend on how to get Adobe for free, but after I learned about their college discount, I decided I'll buy the subscription in the future!

      @Trentorials  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah man the college discount is a lie saver, however it's only applicable for the first year (check to see if your college offers it for free to students)...
      But as always thanks for taking the time to watch and being this channels number one consistent subscriber. thats super dope. feel free to reach out through my IG if you need. (@trentsdailydigital)

    I like the hand held effect.
    How do you match the voice? How do you make sure the twins talk at the right moment?

    • @Trentorials
      @Trentorials  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s just a lot of timing. Irritating to to alone but if you can remember the script you write before, and then remember and practice your timing, you can make it work. Lots of trial and error.

    how did you fix the lighting?

    • @Trentorials
      @Trentorials  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you mean like how did I make sure each side looked the same? I shoot in clog so I do color grade but I also make sure to shoot my shots back to back so the lighting doesn’t change.

  • @_smoothgelo_
    @_smoothgelo_ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do you necessarily need the clean slate or could you just use the 2 shots an no clean slate??

    • @Trentorials
      @Trentorials  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Technically don’t need it but if you mess up a bit it kind of helps you mask in messed up parts of the shot

    How long of a recording should the first slate be?

    • @Trentorials
      @Trentorials  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rough out your script and see how long it takes You to pace it out. Then add a minute or so to the shot length for the slate. My best guess anyways!

    What I thought was an honest tutorial isn't is it? When your 2nd self goes to sit down and says "oh my bad" there's a white masking feather around your arm which momentarily covers the pillow because when you sat down your 1st self wasn't casting a shadow on the pillow as 'he's' sitting next to the window light source.
    You've rotoscoped yourself out of clip three and placed yourself in clip one because there's an inconsistency of lighting on the shadow.
    I think you're good at what you do obviously but I'm not up for having wool pulled over people's eyes. It's dishonest.
    School report reads 'must try harder'.
    And for anyone who thinks I'm not versed in editing - pop onto my channel.
    Please prove me wrong by all means.

    • @Trentorials
      @Trentorials  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm going to be honest with you. not one single person who watched the entire video would think i'm lying about how this effect works, I clearly state that this is a mask effect and that it is a simple effect as best. Thats why it has the words "beginner tutorial" in the title. its made to be as simple as can be.
      It is obviously a mask and I of course tracked it where there was some inconsistency in lighting etc to try and smooth things out. No where near a perfect job on my part but this is a free TH-cam video trying to provide free information to those who want to learn.
      And as for your 'editing' skills you mention having, other than the fact that you're claim to be versed in editing, which in and of itself comes off more pretentiously than it does confidently-- why would you have clicked my video on a beginner tutorial topic if you are so highly educated and better than the rest?
      This is a place for community and learning, in a positive and uplifting manner- theres no reason to bring a negative comment here.
